Great start to another adventure! I could sure relate to being stuck on the unforeseen vertical slope. That was me a couple weeks ago, and getting out of that ordeal was about the same. Except I was alone and the sled was upside down, and my body is much older than my brain agrees with. All good now though. Funny how the brain turns a bad experience into an "adventure" to be remembered with fondness! I look forward to part two of your trip!

Thanks, yes, that flat light is terrible. Happy to hear you got it out. We have an upside down snowmobile in the next episode too. Indeed, those experiences make good stories to tell afterwards. Thanks for following!

Once again great stuff! When the going gets tough, the tough grab their shovels! LOL Scooby seems to really thrive on these trips and your son is learning a lot of great skills through you. Looking forward to episode 2. Cheers from the grey drizzly wet coast.

Thanks for the gear and layering info. It's close to what we used to do when I was an active SAR member in Alaska.

Thanks Dave, it changes when it’s colder, and as you see in the video I did add some big orange bib pants as it was colder in the pass. But yes, probably similar to what you were using indeed! You were doing SAR? That’s awesome! I am sure you have some good stories to tell. We were in charge of the Atlin search and rescue society and active members for many years, until a few years ago when our business and family needed more time from us.

Have you ever tried those blue blocker glasses or a amber lens? I find they help a lot when driving in a snow storm. I think they would help in what you call flat light for picking out the horizon.

Great tip. Yes, Philippe recently got a pair of goggles with special low light lenses, he’s got them up in Resolute bay right now, putting them to the test there, and likely will test them on the flat light here, upon his return. Cheers! And thanks for watching 😊

If you go on a snowmobile trip its better to bring a gun in case of wolves and a faster and lighter snowmobile and a ski doo skandic 600 is also good to use when you wanna go on a snowmbile trip and bring matches

Thanks for sharing. Impressive. Looking at purchasing are own snowmobile and toboggan. Would you please provide some info on your equipment and the temperatures you experienced on this trip. Looks like a Expedition not sure if SWT. Others sleds are a Tundras? What length of recovery strap you recommend?

Hi Dwayne, we have a 2002 Skandic 440, a 2021 Skandic SWT 900 ace and a 2022 Tundra 600 ace. We love the snobunjee cobra for getting each other out, but a 12-16 ft braided rope or strap is always in our kit, on each snowmobile. On this trip it was about -10 C. We used the trailboggan toboggan which is a smaller boggan but manoeuvres very nicely. We also have a brute togobban which is great for hauling big loads, but is terrible to back up with.
