In this part of our winter camping trip/snowmobile adventure trip in the Yukon, we start in the overflow. Overflow is what happens when the weight of snow pushes down the ice, thus causing water to seep through the cracks and pool on top of the ice.
Exhausted from spending all this time stuck in the overflow, we set up camp for the night.
It takes us two hours to set up our hot tent in the snow. It's a 12x14 montana canvas tent, that we have used for well over 10 years. We love it for hot camping in the winter, as it gives us a big space, much like a pop up cabin.
We light the stove in our airtight stove after cutting firewood, cook some food on our msr stove and settle down for dinner.
This is not our first winter camping/snowmobile hot tent camping adventure trip in the Yukon. We have done some other great loops in the Yukon and northern BC, you can find those on our KZbin channel.
We end the episode of this Yukon Winter Hot tent Adventure from Atlin BC to Dawson city, Yukon by having to cross open water on the Yukon river.
We are following the Yukon quest route. The Yukon quest is a famous dog sled race that is held in the Yukon every year. While it has been a month since the quest came through, it is our guideline that will take us to Dawson city by snowmobile.
Camping in a hot tent in the north is great, especially here in the tree line. Lots of firewood to keep the tent warm and cozy overnight.
Our dog Scooby loves hot tent camping also, he is cozy by the fireplace on his bed. We take him on our family snowmobile adventure trips by using a trailer nicknamed the Scooby mobile.

Depending on your size, they may or may not be hard to find. We suggest to Search at military surplus stores. You want the Bata brand. We are planning a video about the boots in the next month, where we will cut a boot open. We will do some more research on where to find them and will let the results know in the video 👍🏻

@@stephanvallee5167 they come in narrow, regular and wide. They are true to size. There are also two colors, black and white. The black ones have a different material and are rated to only -24c. We use the white ones that are rated for extreme cold -40
