I recently encountered this issue this video instructed me how to fix this problem to a tee there should be more people out there like this gentleman and not people who tell you that the only way is to replace the unit well done on a great video

I just tried my cd player last week, it didn’t take the disk and made the skipping noise, will be doing this next free weekend. Many thanks for the instructions

My CD player was doing this and I was going nuts, thankfully I found this video. I was not able to find a screw small enough to replace the screw for the plastic cover, but I used metal epoxy instead which works well.

It was very helpful. Could you do another step by step video on instaling an aftermarket cd player in the same car. Im sure there are many people who would very much appreciate it, me included.

Thank you for sharing in detail this repair process, I just had this problem happen to mine, and using a dab of superglue over the broken plastic and then re-drilling the hole worked well for me. I have also had issues with loading CDs, particularly in hot weather, the roller is fine but seems to slip on the cd. If anyone else has been having an issue like that and doesn't want to replace their whole unit/the roller, I found a paddle pop stick or Q-tip works great for pushing the cd in that last little bit.

I used a hot glue gun to glue down that clear plastic cover, worked like a charm and fixed the CD player! Thank you for this video.

Very good & detail video .... Frankly, I've encountered the same problem, hopefully my CD also broke the plastic thing and not the roller. I will follow this video step-by-step to see if I can repair mine ... Thanks for sharing !

If the rear 4 pins shown at 10:12 are for power only and audio signal is through optic connection.. Then wonder if somehow the pins next to the ribbon cable shown at 12:35 could be useful for connecting line out of a new CD/BT/radio head unit directly to the optic audio system of the 9-3.. In case analog line out --> SAAB optic audio signal translation is what the remaining CD electronics board at 12:35 does, that could mean a possibility for aftermarket DIN1 head unit upgrades without need for bypass by optic loopback. Any ideas on whether it could work?

my issue is, that my cd is still inside and wont reject. Can I do the same way like in your video to remove cd? in the future I will not use cd player anymore. so I go just for aux..thank you

Nice detailed video, thanks very much, I have exactly the same unit and have the same issue, wont accept or eject the disc, my fault seems to be different though as all the gear mechanism is good, I have found however that the grey roller that draws the disc in is free to rotate against the drive cog ! It should obviously be tight on the long shaft that runs through the centre of it..no idea how I'm going to secure that..any ideas?

My CD player accepts cds but makes a clicking noise all the time from point of engine on, 2007 93 even if unit is off. and cannot read the cds. It ejects OK. Is maybe the plastic part broken as per your vid? What can I use for a power source for testing which seems important?
@bpetertube5 жыл бұрын
I used a 12V voltage regulator (home built) and applied voltage to the input terminals on the CD changer to test some of the basic functionality. The main part is to ensure that you apply it to the correct terminals and that you do not reverse it.

great video..thank you very much...I have exactlly the same issue..but I wish to replace the cd unit with one mp3 compatible player. so I thought to replace the cd unit with any kind of modern radio / mp3 player ( radio not important to me). just wondering if it will work? does any of you may have experience ?

this was a great video, but could you possibly help with another device I have a 6-CD changer and i cant find any resources on it whatsoever i have a 2003 SAAB 9-3 (new gen ) with in dash 6cd changer. upon disassembly, I found Mitsubishi markings so maybe that will help somehow (it was produced august 2002). What happens is when I press any of the eject buttons (there is one for each disc) the motor would sound as if it was ejecting the CD but its not under any load.. you can head it going full speed with no traction somewhere. it would also say there are no CDs when there were 5. Any help or a place where I can find more information is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Could it be that ONLY the light sensitive sencor is the problem when inserting? The cd doesn´t rEspond when inserting as it usually does (pulling the cd inside and starting to rotate).
@bpetertube5 жыл бұрын
It could be the sensor, the motor that engages the mechanism to pull in the CD, the driver for the motor, power for that part of the circuit board, etc... I hope this gives you some ideas about what to look for. If you resolve the situation, post what you found out here so others can benefit from your work.

Hello> i just took mine apart because disc wont load or eject but it plays if I push it in. My clear plastic cover does not appear broken but there is a crack in the wheel gear. I am getting clicking when I try to eject. Will the broken gear cause this same problem or should I look for something else that may be causing the issue?
@bpetertube6 жыл бұрын
It is possible that the cracked wheel is causing the problem. The way I analyzed the problem with my CD unit is by observing the mechanism when applying power *only* to the motor that pulls in and ejects the CD.
@johndoegta21896 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks. Do you know where I can find the bushing that sits behind the gear? When I took mine apart it one of them was missing.
@johndoegta21896 жыл бұрын
Hey you were right. I made new replica bushing by hand with new plastic then I repaired cracked wheel and I put in disc and everything worked again, it load play eject no problem BUT I tried other discs and none would play. Only the first disc I put will play but it has scratches. I put better disc and none will play. ANy help??

Hi sir I hope you can understand my fault and we can solve the problem I have a Citroen C5 2010 Model it have as CD player blaupunkt rd4 n1. This device is really stupid coz sometimes taking cd some times not. One of cd repair company said me there are to many gear and those gears can crash should change those gears but I think my problem is from any insert sensor. Because if I click to reject button it’s giving cd but inside a motor still working if I insert any cd on this time the motor is going slowly after 15 minute motor stopping. But if I insert cd it’s not taking cd. Is there any sensor or any button inside for taking cd. How the driver take cd or understand there is a cd for pushing. I think there is a switch we are pushing the cd and cd push the switch and motor working and taking cd inside. Please help me where is this switch or sensor for taking cd. There is no Servis for solving that problem I opened the driver and clean board but problem is still. But there were some corrosion in the board from humidity I think I clean all of. Or I can buy a new cd driver. Can the new driver solve my problem? Problem is on driver (any sensor or switch) or on the board? Thank you
