Sabaton is swedish, they've been around about 25 years. All their music is war related, telling the stories from events, people, places etc. They are the history teachers you didn't know you needed. If Sabaton telling history would be shown in schools, kids would learn much more 😀 They have history channel where you can learn more about those subjects of their songs. Very much worth to check out. There is plenty of videos/live recordings to check out. You will get lot's of suggestions. Sabaton has huge following. Welcome to Sabaton. Yeah, most of their songs are to do with warfare. Many about unknown events, heros and heroines (bit of Strawbs there). They also have their own youtube channel which goes into the history of every song they write. Very educational for sure.

One of my favorite Power Metal bands! They are history buffs and each song is an accurate history lesson, from the Spartans to modern history, and everything in between, the European Middle-Ages battlefields, D-Day, Hiroshima, the Battle of the Bulge, 9/11 and much more. They never take sides except when it comes to crimes against humanity such as the Holocaust, terror attacks...The are great on stage and also use pyro. Not at Rammstein level, but great entertainment anyway. A few great songs about US/Allies involvement in WWII: Primo Victoria (D-Day), Attero Dominatus (The fall of Berlin and the IIIrd Reich), Nuclear Attack (self-explainatory!)

Please make sure that No bullets fly and Night witches are the animated story videos they made in colab with Yarnhub. They contain both parts of the story and the song. If there is an animated story version it's almost always the best option. Except for Christmas truce where the official video is the gem. And keep watching it all the way to the end. There is an Easter egg for Nightwish fans in the credits.

Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 120 if their songs (not music award, academic, aimed at education of the public) . Sabaton videos are often have dedications and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but... watching to the very end is frequently well worth it. Animated STORY videos (short Animated history lessons with music videos in them) No bullets fly, enemy showing mercy to injured aircrew in a nearly wrecked aircraft barely still flying, even escorting them to safety. Night witches, Young (17-28) female bomber pilots in ww2 fighting the Nazi despite the discrimination they faced and being given obsolete equipment, aircraft ... Lady of the dark, female fighting alongside men during ww1 and being highly respected and even more decorated. Red baron, the famous fighter pilot of ww1 first soldier, unlikely French hero in ww1. Epic ORIGINAL videos. you just saw Bismark, about the sinking of the ship Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914 40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939 (with odds actually close to 55:1 they held for 3 DAYS when ammunition and supplies ran out. Nice of you Rick this band i went on a concert 2020 just before the covid come. There is a videio from that concert in Gothenburg. There is a song cald One lifetime in war. Or in swedish En livstid i krig. Listen to that and the crawd I was there . I think your going to love it. I have seen theme on 3 concerts in Gothenburg Sweden. 2013 ,2016 and 2020. Saw them live last year ( with Babymetal ! ) - one of the best live gigs I've see in 50 years . What's not to like about a band where the drummer plays on top of a tank ! When you compare Lemmys and Joakims voice then you have to listen Sabatons version of Lemmys "1916", which is not a cover but a real tribute to Motörhead and Lemmy!

They have made several good songs, videos and live performances. One of the better performance is "En livstid i krig" (A lifetime in war) in Swedish in Gothenburg in Sweden. The Swedish version is so much stronger. You have to choose a video with captions. The text is strong and many cry. OK, the translation is not perfect, it is adapted for non Swedes, but it is close enough.
