@dixon28803 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealmBetween Nope. I'm russian and there is nothing about police in our anthem
@eves15033 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealmBetween nothing about the police. The text is mainly about how vast and beautiful the country is and how proud we are of it because it’s the one and only, it is our home. The Soviet anthem, on the other hand, had a lot of references to communism, the will of the Soviet people to build the better future for themselves, the Soviet victories and stuff like that. But still nothing about the police. Music was exactly the same. Fun fact: the same poet wrote the words to both the Soviet (1943 and 1977 versions) and the Russian anthems (2001 version). Another fun fact is the Russian anthem is a complete song. It has three verses and three choruses.
@tntfreddan31383 жыл бұрын
@@eves1503 That's a nice touch, to have your national anthem an actual fully fledged song. In Sweden we actually don't have an official national anthem but when we sing "Du Gamla Du Fria" we usually only sing the first two verses and choruses. Those are the two original parts. The song isn't really about Sweden as it isn't mentioned in the first two parts, but only in the 4th part which was added in 1910 (Song was originally written in 1844). This is why the Polish national anthem is the only anthem in the world which actually mentions Sweden.
@eves15033 жыл бұрын
@@tntfreddan3138 so during the olympics, if a Swedish person is on the podium, they play that song? How interesting! Less and less veterans of WWII, and less and less people aware what a nightmare, horror and tragedy was that war. Almost all soldiers recruited before the battle for Moscow died. They were unprepared and almost unequipped. They stopped Nazis by the cost of their lives. The consequences of WWII felt for people of USSR/Russia till the end of the century. Practically all families had dead or injured members. I went to the gatherings of veterans with my grandmother. You had to see how they treated each other - brothers in arms who faced the death together. For them The Victory day was a day to remember the fallen fellow soldiers, the day of Sorrow.

It's cool that after so many years there are people who remember, and moreover, they populize history. Thanks to Sabaton for this)

Thanks for this reaction video and for understanding our feelings. ^^ That’s true, I feel much more patriotic after listening to the Sabaton songs, than after listening to the officials’ speeches once a year or whatever I hardly do. And, I agree, it’s good to learn more about other countries’ history from their point of view rather than be focused on the home country only.

I'm Russian on my mother's side. The origin of this song is interesting. It's as if someone wrote a song in the style of Nightwish, and Nightwish recorded it.
@free42mind3 жыл бұрын
If you'll read the other comment you will know that it's not "if someone wrote". The author, Radio Tapok, intentionally wrote this song in Sabaton style.
@MycontentisgoldJerryGold3 жыл бұрын
@@free42mind I do know how Radio Tapok wrote his song and how Sabaton covered it. I meant to compare it to Nightwish doing the same thing.

What I hate is people giving hate on this song for stuff that is happening like just enjoy the history and the cool things about it
@TankTheTech2 жыл бұрын
Gotta agree with you on that. I've seen a lot of comments from people hating on this song, or asking me to take this reaction down. This is about a part of history that has absolutely nothing with what is going on right now.
@nevertrustbob1 Жыл бұрын
@@TankTheTech Its pretty obvious too, Sabaton will be banned from Russia again if and when this war ends. Mainly in part in that they publically supported Ukraine regardless of the outcome Sabaton will never play this song or play in Russia again.

"......and then Joakim is rocking the aviators as always, that's all I really know about his gear sooooo" - got me good Tank XD Can I suggest 'A Ghost in the Trenches' and 'Devil Dogs' for your future reactions? Both are not only really cool songs, but as usual the history behind the two are intriguing, with a Ghost in the Trenches in particular having a fascinating story of which I'm sure you'll watch the Sabaton History episode about afterwards!

The second part of the solo sounds so patriotic because it's soviet anthem.

You can actually buy exact copies of Joakims aviators in their merch store, or atleast you used to be able too, I have a pair on my bookshelf. I think it would be cool if you got a pair for yourself and did the intro to Sabaton saturday videos wearing them, think they would suit you quite well!

I am Latvian, brought up in the Soviet Union, and that's why I probably like version of Radio Tapok better. It reminds me of films about war I saw during my childhood. Not those meant for children, because those were terrible, but films about ordinary humans thrown in the war.
@ievazagante55273 жыл бұрын
We were taught only about Soviet Union (omitting the part of being allies with Germany). And US? Well, they dropped two atom bombs on Japan, and that was bad, though Japan deserved it - that was all I had learned till the last two years of high school. By then it was Awakening and we had got really good teacher. He taught of Latvia, however, since Latvians regularly managed to get involved into all kind of struggles for power, we also learned a lot about history of the World.
