All songs that Sabaton make are historical and the animated music videos are always interesting to watch. They also have a history channel called Sabaton History where they talk about the song, how they found it and the process of creating the song. I recommend reacting to their latest song The First Soldier (Animated Story Video).

Hi again! I can understand your confusion haha. Sabaton is a Swedish metal band. All their songs are about wars, battles and persons who played a significant role in them. They do a lot of research for every song and they have a phenomenal History Channel on YT that some teachers use to educate their pupils. If you're interested it is worth checking out! It gives you more info about the background of their songs. What's more...Sabaton takes no sides and they don't judge. They tell the real story. Moreover....fans can send them ideas for a song if they know of a forgotten hero or war/battle. A sabaton is an iron shoe worn by medieval knights as part of their armor. The drummer of the band is Hannes van Dahl and he is Floor Jansen's husband. On stage his drumkit is sat on a tank haha! Other great songs are "Bismarck", the dreaded German battleship in WWII, and "Christmas Truce", a heartbreaking real event in WWI. I definitely recommend seeing the actual photo of the Ye Olde Pub. The damage is INSANE. Of course, they are called Flying Fortresses for a reason. What are you watching? A battle over Germany in WWII. Franz tried to get them to land in Germany and surrender, but Charlie refused. Then Franz tried to get them to head to neutral airspace, but Charlie refused again. So Franz escorted them to safety, flying close enough so that ground weapons couldn't shoot, for fear of hitting him, too. What a guy!! Franz was rewarded for his efforts by being called a traitor by other Germans and a Nazi by everyone else, just because he was a German soldier in WWII. He endured so much. If you want to watch them live, watch Uprising, a song about Warsaw performed in Warsaw. Sabaton is a Swedish band, by the way. They catch flack for "beautifying war", but that's not what they do at all. Their songs are about real people who have risked their lives so we civilians don't have to fight. They research everything and make accurate lyrics.

First of, Welcome to the Sabaton rabbit hole, alternatively known also as the Sabaton Army. Don't worry, they are bit unusual/ unexpected since they basically only do songs about military HISTORY, true stories about battles, soldiers, events etc. (They have 1 album recorded in 2002, about other topics.) They don't pick sides or do politics, religion etc. And the stories are from all sides and from a lot of different countries. Sabaton is a metal band from Sweden, they've been around since 1999 and their first album was out in 2005 (the latest 2022 one, is their 10th studio album, but they've also released several songs outside the albums) The lyrics are all written by Joakim (singer) and Pär (basist), (who are the only original members from 1999) they are also the "history nerds" of the band. A perfectly adequate reaction, what the h*** is this!!! This is actually the first step into the fantastic rabbit hole of Sabaton. If you keep on this path you will find some really fantastic music and videos. A few must see: 'En livstid i krig' live from the Great Tour in Gothenburg. Its in Swedish but use the subs. 'Ghostdivision' live from the polish Woodstock back in 2012. For starters... there are so much more to come.. And yes, they do sing about historical events, and they are pretty accurate. I could imagine that on the day Charlie passed, the chilling howl of a Bf-109 could be heard in the distance; Franz had come to escort his brother home. These two men are the prime example of what it is to be human. It took almost forty years to find eachother, but it seemed as if only forty minutes had passed. To Franz, the Pub had become a parachute, and his old commander in North Africa had once told him "If I catch you shooting at a man on a parachute, I will shoot you down myself." Franz had to be sure that parachute was safe.

I have to take my hat off to this Nazi pilot who put the lives of those on the other side before his own, such an act deserves the greatest medals of honor in existence in my opinion. Such a show of mercy is one of the greatest acts that would require more because this act required a lot of courage from a nazi pilot because he knew for sure the danger that by flying close to an enemy plane he could have been shot down as a traitor and court-martialed for a war crime and sentenced to death! 🎖🎖👍👍✈✈ I don''t think it was easy for this nazi pilot to keep silent about the 50-year amnesty for the coalition plane, but he certainly knew the consequences if the matter came out because martial law was merciless towards traitors.
