the biggest difficulty about recording this 3 years ago was how we were dubbing this into english and had to match “mouth flaps” that already existed. and we pretty much recorded line-by-line without context for the scenes or story arc, etc. there was also a focus on keeping the voice acting silly and childish for some reason.

This was cool. I was curious about your involvement with the movie as I’ve never heard of this or your roles in voice acting. Honestly, I found it funny how you stretched it with the voice. It wasn’t too bad as it did feel a bit distinct from your own, being a bit more “silly and childish” as you put it, but it obviously needs some work. Still though, I wouldn’t mind seeing how you’d fare in voice acting with a bit more liberty to do so with. Anyway, this was a weird one.

I always felt like it’d be really cool to see Anthony (and a lot of other classic content creators) get a real chance in voice acting or just any major film or project really. I’ve noticed cameos in mainstream blockbusters once in a while but they all feel kinda goofy and cheap and sometimes even kinda pandering. There’s a whole generation of us that saw smosh and plenty of other KZbinrs as on par with “real” celebrities growing up. Given the right context and good reviews, seeing “Anthony Padilla” on a movie poster would be a definite eye catcher for me and probably plenty of others. Guess that’s up to the studios though.

Not gonna lie, the first film sucked and it's only redeeming factors were Jim Carrey and the fact that it has the honor of being the best CGI animal / human buddy movie. The sequel however, was actually pretty good and made better use of the Sonic IP.

Just to comment on the flaccid spikes thing: yea, hedgehogs do that. They lay their spines flat when relaxed and prickle up when stressed (you can pet a hedgehog like a cat if you earn its trust). Honestly, I’m kind of sick of *every. Single. Movie.* doing the “main character who stands out” thing. I think, for an adventure movie, you should have a remarkably _normal_ main character at the beginning, then they get caught up in some adventure, and when it’s all over, they’re a different person, no longer fitting in, which could be a good start-off for a sequel. Just my opinion.
