It is very violating to have someone walk into your apartment. Management opened my door once and I thought it was my boyfriend. I called out and then heard the door shut and lock... I didn't know who it was but it turned out they thought my apartment was vacated and came for an inspection. Even if there was no ill intent it is still really scary to think of unwanted people in your house. Glad you moved and are ok, Jarvis!

Thank you for sharing, Jordan. As a viewer, I don’t feel exploited for sympathy, instead I’m reminded the person I enjoy watching is human, and I want to do more to support you and your family. The Sad Boyz community sends love and healing to Momma Adika. Thank goodness for free healthcare but if you ever need to crowdfund, you’ve got a whole community here behind you. And if it makes her happy and only if she is up for it, it would be lovely to see you and her in a video sometime so she can see the love from the community herself.

As a member of the LiGaBaT community, when you said "Grindr" I couldn't help but immediately scream laughing. But I'm sorry that happened to you, especially the fact that he didn't leave immediately when you confronted him. I always enjoy hearing these guys speak about masculinity. Sometimes as a man, speaking to the men around me about toxic masculinity and misogyny can feel like talking to people from another dimension. As a straight girl it's just so wild to me that guys will just give their addresses to strangers and leave the door unlocked. My friend does this, usually as the visitor, and it just makes me worried about his safety. Like I'm sure it's hot but it's just scary to me. The thing that happened to Jarvis is in no way even the worst case scenario. Good thing it happened before the move though. It would feel super violating, especially when you can't be sure if it was a genuine mistake or some internet weirdo stalker.

@Mickey Holmes You make a great point, which is really sad. It's disturbing that giving a stranger your address/ going to a stranger's house & hoping they don't murder you is sometimes safer than telling the world that you love or get intimate with people of the same gender or sex.

Jarvis! I also have chronic hives! I've never heard anyone else say they have it too! Mine is stress related and only started in my late 30s. Last year i was diagnosed with cancer and went thru the treatments and haven't had any episodes since. Best guess we have right now is my immune system was so stressed out by the cancer it started overreacting and causing hives. I wish you health and hope you feel better soon 🧡

I super value how you navigated the Andrew Tate topic. I think it’s important that his toxic and violent misogyny is called out about by progressive folks online, but I get upset when he becomes “popular content” and almost gets re-platformed by the people who are supposed to be criticizing him. Andrew Tate is almost a cartoon character wherein lukewarm feminists think all evil exists, but really it’s the system that created him/made him possible that’s the ultimate evil. I really appreciate how you named patriarchy and systems, and also about how reliance on prejudice and discrimination comes from a place of fear and pain. It was a really thoughtful and well structured discussion, and I appreciated it.

My house was broken into last year. I had forgotten to lock the door after taking the trash out, and basically just went to my room. At around 2:30 I heard my front door open, somebody take their boots off and walk up the stairs. I immediately threw some clothes on and grabbed my knife just in case. I went up the stairs and walked to the kitchen, and saw some random ass dude in my kitchen. I turned the lights on and said “who tf are you!! Get the fuck out of my house”. He walked downstairs, put his boots on, and walked out the door. I the. Woke up my parents, and told them that there was somebody in the house but I got them out. We walked out and they called the police (I have very different stances on policing than I did then, and didn’t really think it was a big deal at the time), I told them that I had grabbed my knife and they told me to not tell the cops. 3 officers (way too many) arrived and asked me for a description. Then another pig came in and told us that they found him checking our neighbors door. They asked if we wanted to press charges and I immediately said no. Turns out he was high af on meth and didn’t really know what was going on, so I don’t really blame him for this. Ps I’m high as fuck myself and can’t type, so sorry for any mistakes

That “must be nice” shit hit hard- I grew up dfab but I remember friends sharing stories of being catcalled and sexually harassed in _middle school_ and my thoughts were blinding jealousy, the feeling they were sharing this with me because we all knew they were Pretty Girls and I was an Ugly Girl, honestly like, “must be nice.” We were children. Other children and god fuckin forbid adult men were harassing my peers and the culture I was steeped in taught me I was being tortured with these stories of my friends’ sexual desirability to beat me down and trick me into trying to do better only to be shot down. Which is not remotely what that was. That was children being harmed and harassed. Not being preps didn’t protect us at all from the predatory sexualization of our bodies. Shits wild

Jordan, I am so sorry that you are going through this. I'm dealing with similar circumstances and the compartmentalization required to maintain day-to-day life is really disorienting. I've been dealing with a depressive episode too. Like you, I wanted to keep it on the DL because I didn't want to bring things down, or to explain details of my family background and my father's illness (liver disease). It has helped to let people know what's going on though, if only just to relieve myself from the anxiety of feeling like other people notice that I'm not "operating at 100%." I hope it helps you too. I can't imagine how hard it would be to tell all these people who watch you, but don't really know you. I hope that amid the chaos, you are able to get some physical, mental, and emotional rest ❤️

I had chronic hives all throughout high school and I’ve never heard about someone else having them before. They just got worse and worse and I was taking like 5 Zyrtec a day by the end of it just so that it was manageable. I went to an allergist twice and the only advice I got was to take more Zyrtec and stop being stressed out, cause that was their best theory on what was causing them. How do I just stop being stressed out? Like how am I expected to do that, unfortunately I don’t have a tiny stress switch bc on the back of my neck that I can just turn off. Also how can I not be stressed about the fact that’ I’m breaking out in hives every day for no apparent reason. Anyways it was awful and then they suddenly just went away and I have no idea why. I’m really hoping they don’t come back cause it was three year of dealing with them and I really don’t want to do it again

Jordan, don't feel bad about sharing something in your life that is a big part of it and affects it greatly just out of fear of seeming like you want sympathy. If it's something you feel you need to share for others to better understand some parts of you, your online presence or character, that is absolutely fine and valid. And taking care of your mom is awsome of you, though it is sad that it is needed. Wish her and you all the health!

I mean this in the most sincere way possible, so I truly hope this isn't taken as like condescending or anything! But holy shit, Jordan, you are so freaking brave for opening up like that about what you are going through. Watching you struggle through that segment, then finally get out what you wanted to say made my heart ache. I can relate so much to that feeling of knowing exactly how you are feeling on the inside, with one part of you that wants to share it and get it out, but the trauma part of your brain is telling you to "shut up" and "no one cares how you feel". I know that feeling all too well. It has taken years of therapy to get to a point where I am able to be upfront and honest, but being vulnerable is never an easy thing. I saw myself as I watched you struggle at first, and felt so relieved/proud once you were able to talk about it. And just. Even that tiny step, though it might feel small and insignificant, IS actually monumental.

But once I heard about your hives I just needed to say- I have chronic idiopathic urticaria, and I used to have episodes of extremely itchy -full body- hive break outs for 2 weeks at a time every few months. And the only thing that got them under control was a monthly injection called xolair (not an ad obviously 😂). I got the injection for like- 5 months or so in 2019 and then i had to stop getting it once everything shut down, but the results so far have lasted. Usually springtime will trigger a -horrible- hive episode for me, but I haven't had one the last two years.

Honestly, identifying my privilege as a cis white male helped me with my personal problems. While I know I have and had a myriad of large problems in my life, depression, anxiety, poverty, self-inflicted relationship problems, parental problems, etc, I still recognize and realize there are people in the world who have similar and/or worse problems. While I work through my own baggage, it would be both immoral and objectively wrong to think that I'm more disenfranchised than others based on my privilege. Because I was still able to go to college, for cheap mind you, I have a career that pays well now, I have a permanent residence that is well maintained, clean, and safe, and I'm in the black financially. My problems are tough for me, but I'm still better off based on the fact I was born white, in a middle class white town in a majority white state.

love your statement! I think is always really helpful thinking of it in a way that obviously, everyone can have and has problems but it is a privilege if that problem is not made harder by structural discrimination or on the other hand which ressources are available due to privilege. I also struggle with depression and other mental health struggles and its hard but the realization of how relatively easy it was for me to find an affordable therapist who could generally understand my experience in this world is such a privilege. For example my friends of colour struggle so much with this since most therapists are white and thus would probably even worsen their mental state with unconcious racism or at least cannot really understand their environmental conditions which are obviously always tied to your mental wellbeing. Im a bit rambly, but these little things just break my heart and the least we can do is acknowledge our privilege.

I remember a TikTok that was circulating a while back where this girl was dancing in her apt and a creep climbed up her fucking balcony and entered her apt. She ended up screaming at him enough to get him to exit through the door her came in from, and she went to her next door neighbor to call the cops. I’m so glad the situation Jarvis experienced ended as well as it did (and that he moved right afterwards), but holy fuck as a woman that’s one of my biggest fears 😰

Listening right now and hearing you talk about your chronic condition is pretty comforting. I had a chronic inflammatory eye condition crop up at age 18 and it comes back every month or so since then. And just like you, they have no idea what causes it. Doctors not being able to understand what causes something is a weirdly lonely and scary feeling, so hearing someone else describe a similar experience is really nice.

oh lord that's so gross, esp scary given the guy was probably high as fuck and may have been looking for some kinky roleplay. like thinking jarvis saying "get out" was an act at first so gross, glad you were able to get the guy out of your house without it escalating and glad you were able to move.

I love you guys so much for this. Firstly, it makes me so happy that you two have such a strong and healthy bond, which I guess is not that common in guys. Secondly, it is so wonderful that you are able and willing to share this with us, including vulnerabilites. I really think, especially with the topic today, that you can help many people and young boys specifically to learn a more healthy and humanized version of manhood. Thank you, I wish you both all the best in the world!

I just want to say for the suicide rates between men and women. First and foremost I hate that people treat this like it's some sort of competition, like the struggle wars or something. Secondly this is another case of people not knowing how to interpret data or one conclusion out of context which makes it seem like something completely different than what it is. You can look up the stats for yourself. While it is true that more men commit suicide, this is because men tend to use fatal methods of suicide, like hanging or a gunshot. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but tend to use methods that aren't fatal or that give the opportunity to change their mind before going through with the act. Conclusion: women attempt suicide more than men however men die of suicide more than women. People who say more men die of suicide/more men commit suicide as a way to say that men have it harder is not only dishonest but just spreading false information and half truths. And of course the data shifts when you include non-binary people. It's incredibly damaging and only worsens to stigma of suicide. Instead of finding about who has it worse we should be encouraging more people to seek help regardless of who they are.
