I was at rock bottom with PTSD and chronic pain. I finally had enough, the suffering became too much, I was in constant torment, and pain. I decided to end my life. Just as I was going to do it, I saw a text from my childhood best friend. We had not spoken in years. The text said " I know you are going through hell, but i promise it will get better, keep fighting." I broke down in tears and went and got help. I am doing much better these days, started a business, and have gotten my health back. God is great. Always keep fighting, never give up.

I have stepped in to prevent my cousin from doing it figured the best way to change his mind was to give him a direction to sendnthe angst so pissed him off and he threw me through a door but he decided to get help afrer and now hes doing good i was alr3ady disabled and i was never able enough to serve he spent 10 years between training jumpers for airborne and serving in afghanistan. Since then ive found my part in helping those that stand for us civis i go to the va and when i see dudes alome i ask if they want company and an ear i feep i may have talked a few down off a ledge these past couple years. I couldnt save dad though he served in vietnam and his demons just ate him alive he spent his last years trying to die and no one could realy stop it

Thank you for your service. I'm not sure if your a Christian, so here I go. If you have a bible read it and if not get one. Start in Matthew to revevalation. Pray for understanding before you read, pray and listen for 10 to 15 min. I suffered a brain injury 16 years ago and woke up in Calgary a week later. Since cv19 I've been tired and depressed and have struggled with my walk with Jesus. A repentant a d thankful heart goes a long way. My wife works for DRDC at suffield base. She had to get the shot because I had very little income now. I govt is a shit show! I've said all this to say read and pray, and keep them loaded because the world is going to change in the next year or less. Stay strong brother!!! Sorry for the babble

I held the gun fully committed to end my life. My 5 yr old girl walked into the garage and said through tears “Daddy, i wish you didnt drink alcohol” it was so sweet so pure and I just couldn’t leave her. Just couldnt do it. I have gotten help. Long military career, many jobs including medic in Iraq. I've been through dark times. I can't count the times I placed a dagger to my chest. My medical training helping know exact place to drive it into my heart. I came up with several ways to do it to make it look like an accident so my family could collect my life insurance. My faith is what stopped me. Since then I've dealt with several suicides of fellow soldiers and helping their families who were left behind. This show brought back memories that made me tear up

Your story sounds a lot like mine. A combat medic for eight years in the Army, came home was a paramedic for eleven and a half years civilian side. Was a first responder on 9/11 at ground zero in NYC. I knew all the ways to do it "appropriately" so my family would receive the life insurance and no one would suspect s******. Like you, my faith(although on broken glass then)in God and my personal relationship with Jesus is what saved me. Not one time but a few. I look back on those times now and WOW! All that has changed. All that I would have missed. All the plans God had and still has for me. The enemy wants nothing more than to stop the plans of God for us. In the end, God's Will, will always be done!

Hearing Blake’s story makes me think back to when a phone call from my sister saved me in the same situation 22 years ago. sir i just want to say that just watching you and seeing your emotion is 100% from god. youre obviously a ultra high trained and you have taken that training and mastered it. i only know about law enforcement because by father was a baltimore homicide detective and my brother is a current Lt. of 5 units(aviation, marine, traffic, robbery and i dont know the other). to have gone throug what youve gone throughand to be as declarated as you are and still be one muscle finch from a self check out and God was on that phone line. brother you are too much of a hero and we need all the heros we can get right now. thank you so much for your sacrifices to our country. I had twin daughters and went through an abusive divorce right before starting nursing school. Shoulders and back gave out, couldn’t even get up from kneeling at one point. I was very very close at some points just sitting there holding the rifle sobbing. I couldn’t leave them, i also didnt want my loved ones to find me that way. It’s been hard but I’m slowly getting back in the saddle. I’m not feeling so helpless anymore and understand my purpose is to teach/guide my girls through life. Remember, there is always a choice. It’s always there because it’s YOURS. Stay here with us, you’re not alone. Not all who wonder are lost… walk with us through the darkness and you will be found one day! Have faith in the grand scheme of the master plan😉

I spent 45 years, to the day as a LEO. I have had the good fortune to do everything you've seen in TV and movies more than once. I'm a survivor and when I didn't end up dying... Even I had to recognize the Hand of God in my Life. I never would have hurt myself, but there were many times I didn't want to go on. I've been shot at 13 times in 3 different situations. The hand of God spared me over and over again. I've had cancer 7 times and I am back at "0" for my PSA on my 4th time with prostate cancer. Thank you Heavenly Father........ There is "No such thing as Coincidence".

I am not military in any sense, but Thank you all former and active duty for your service. I am struggling myself, with inner demons and just life in general. Sometimes God brings us to the very brink of disaster and puts us through unimaginable amounts of misery so that when He finally brings us through it all to the other side we won't EVER forget how Gracious and All loving He actually is, and so that we are willing to do the work to keep from ever going back to that place. The main thing is, don't EVER give up. Never. No matter how hopeless it may seem, just don't ever give up and don't ever stop fighting. Holy crap! This sounds like my son. He called me this past May and told me he had a rope around his neck. He was out in the woods and he just wanted someone to get his body so he wouldn’t be out all night in the woods and possibly get eaten by some animal. He shared his location with me on his phone. Boy I tell you what I have never driven so fast in my life!! Like 70 mph in residential area and about 110 on highway. As I am looking for him I hear something. Idk what it was but it wasn’t him bc when I came upon him he wasn’t breathing. I started CPR and he MADE it!! He was on a vent for three days but he’s fine now!!! Praise God. (He wanted to join by husband who killed himself four years ago).

I appreciate the humility, a lot of vets have been in your shoes. God is doing a revival in the hearts of minds of vets. When I 1st started watching Shawn's show b4 it got big and his transformation. I was like here we go again, I get you were a elite soldier, so the Ego comes with the territory and Yes, you earned it. I'm a ex vet to that was in the Infantry. I had grew up though, I figured out I wasn't bullet proof, I can take a hit, but walked around acting like i was still in, and following along the Alpha line. Then I got saved and it all changed, for some reason I still kept watching Shawn. I apologize Shawn but, at the time I'm still thinking your a tool, and then you get this hot wife, and I'm like OMG, R U serious, this dudes is a train wreck, and this chick doesn't even see it coming... I'm still watch the !@35 show right!!! Even though I'm like this guy is a tool, and I couldn't understand why. The interviews kept on getting better and better, and then out of the clear blue, God pulls you right out of the fire just like me, and both of our worlds changed. I don't look up to whole lot of people in life, but you guys are hero's.... I still shoot, a lot myself bro's keep the bullets flying downrange.....

I have 1000% been in this position. I typed a text to my father in law that said, “I’m in the hay field don’t bring the girls.” I knew if I hit send I’d be dead one second later. Whatever power or god you believe in (which has always been myself) is what steps in and gives you a moment of “clarity.” That clarity shifted my thinking. I channeled that energy into a plan for success and it DID NOT let me down. Did I struggle? I did! But I didn’t deviate from my plan. And I’m f**king proud of it!
