Hey Mike! Just wanted to help out with the confusion as of recently, this gun is completely discontinued but is offered in a full 15" barrel via Saint Victor as an AR-15. The Maxim Defense may have the exact version everybody is looking for. But I still wish SA offered it. Sad day.

Yup, luv this ‘lil gun. Of note concerning the discontinuing of the PDW’s. Springfield Armory no longer has them on their website, the edge or the victor. The PDW is no longer there. Enjoy!

They really discontinued it? They don't make the Victor PDW either? I'm going to read about this now. I like to learn through the comments like this, it's like a constantly updating forum.

I can't find the Victor PDW on the website anymore, and the Edge PDW is listed as discontinued. I like my gun even more now.

Great question! This did NOT come with any sights, and I bought it brand new. I remember thinking I got screwed, and looking all over the internet about it. Apparently they used to come with sights, and then stopped sending them with sights. I actually looked up the sights that used to come with it and ordered those. And then never used them!

ok, thats a pretty slick setup. i have a 10" setup in a similar manner, but ive been fooling with the idea of getting a 7"or 8" pistol. but my issue is the velocity loss. it makes me wonder if it would make more sense to get a 9mm in a 7" barrel or a 5.56 in a 7"-8" barrel? i need to do some research on the velocity charts. thats really the ONLY reason ive not gone smaller than 10" with 5.56. i will admit that this is a slick looking shooter.

I haven't done too much research on it, but looking at the fireball when the shots come out, a lot of those gases are wasted and there definitely is velocity loss. BUT I'm not at all concerned about that, this thing is powerful. What really is the problem is the noise. I can notice the difference between this 5.5" and a 7" build I use, and this 5.5" is clearly louder. I might start thinking about a silencer.

Can you suppress the PDW ? I know the warranty gets voided if I remove the gate brake but would love to put a suppresser on it.

I'm actually not sure about Springfield's rule on suppressing this. I know Maxim Defense voids the warranty on their PDX if you suppress it, because of the Hate Brake removal. And I know that this Springfield Saint Edge PDW also uses the same Hate Brake. But I don't have a clear answer on their policy on it.

It comes with the Maxim Defense "Hate Brake" already installed. I have a flashlight mounted on top of that.

The Maxim Defense PDX can only run the CGS HELIOS QD w/ out voiding the warranty. I assume the Springfield can use the same suppressor.

You should be able to find it in your local gun stores as the "Saint Victor PDW" now, they changed the name.
