It was mainly due to the quality being lower and David not trying as hard with them. From about Ep6 and onwards, he's been trying to make sure each episode is an amazing quality.

It's so hard to keep up to the expectations once you get a cult following like Mr. Fingers got, and David always made sure to not disappoint it's viewers. I like that he decided to keep that cartoony look in the end - but still with very high quality. Not that I don't like quality video, but Salad Fingers is something that's better left to a bit of imagination... seeing all those things in super high quality was... well... fucking disturbing :D

I’ll never forget seeing saladfingers for the first time. It was 2004, my graphic arts class. Someone put it on next to me, so I looked over… then my neighbor looked over, and by the time the video was over, the entire class INCLUDING the teacher had been sucked into the video. My late computer teacher praised Saladfingers on the spot for its ingenuity, and the rest is history.

So hard to believe it’s already been 20 years. 😭 I will never forget the first time I watched the very first Salad Fingers on Newgrounds. I believe it was the 4th of July in 2004 when I first saw it actually. It was right before I started my freshman year of high school, so I guess I would have been 15. I would sneak onto the family computer under cover of night to look at weird shit online and when I discovered Salad Fingers, I knew I had found something truly special. Been following diligently ever since. David, your work has been such a huge influence in my life. It helped to shape me into the weirdo I am today, truly. It's hard to grasp that it has been 20 years. I remember how young I was when I saw the first episode. How I felt about each one, hell, even what I was supposed to be doing instead of watching them. A part of me wants to go back to that, but I'm glad to be here. To have experienced all of that.

I remember as a 5 year old kid back in 2004 my brother's friend showed me the first episode of Salad Fingers, needless too say had nightmares for about a week afterwards 😂.

salad really raised me. the first episode came out the year before i was born, so ive been watching this show practically from the womb. i’ll be 19 in december and still rewatch the show every few months, thanks for the memories
