I appriciate the way you've explained this, thank you. As a creative, Marketing is NOT my strong suit, so I'm struggling to explain all of these things at the base level beyond basic definition.

This is really more of a lead/marketing pipeline than a traditional sales pipeline. A sales pipeline has predefined steps, the stages of the sales process and the ability to evaluate where each prospect is on the roadmap to better predict outcomes.

He does say that at the end of the video; that sales & marketing are interchangeable for this example.

Very useful info thank you! However, can you help me with the understanding of the sales cycle? In car sales, the sales cycle is fairly short... so the leads that I had a month ago would have purchased already if I didn’t get the business? How does that build the pipeline?
@Marketing3603 жыл бұрын
Great question, Chris! Obviously the sales cycle can change dramatically based on industry or product. Vehicle sales is a pretty short cycle with a looooong reset. People keep cars for years! In those situations that's when you want to get referrals from their friends and family, offer services to bring them back (maintenance, winterization, detailing, etc), connect them with opportunities to "trade up". It may take a few years so it's a pretty long play - for those long resets that's why you want to be consistently adding new leads into the sales cycle. It can take time to ramp up but when it does it spits out consistent sales on the other end!

do you like using google ads or are there less expensive ways to start lead generation.
@Marketing3604 жыл бұрын
There are millions of ways to go about it but the truth is that marketing takes an investment. "Less expensive" is relative - if $300 in ads generates $3,000 in revenue that's a win! If $30 in ads generates $100 in revenue (because you're focusing on the "cheaper" option) you might be gaining ground but at incredible long term cost. One of my favorite combos is Google Ads targeting in-market audiences, Facebook lead gen ads, and with digital billboards for brand awareness. That said, every company is different and you need to identify what works for you. Good luck!

@Marketing3604 жыл бұрын
Hey, Kenny! It takes time to build up a good sales team and a sales pipeline. In fact, outside of your marketing efforts time is probably one of the most important aspects

Let’s say I generate 100 leads on first month with only 5% percent prospects, generate another 100 leads on month 2 and generate 10% prospects with closing at 5%. There will always be more leads to follow up as the pipeline increase per time period yes ?
@Marketing3605 жыл бұрын
As the pipeline increases (and hopefully your conversion rate as well!) you'll always have new prospects as long as you continue to build your marketing campaigns to drive new leads
