Do we think they will keep Hamilton's scandal a secret? I'm not sure...

When Jefferson mentioned that Hamilton destroyed Adams, he was alluding to a song left out of the show where Hamilton drags Adams in writing. Also, the "Sit down, John" quote was a reference to the musical, "1776", which focuses around John Adams.

King George is played here by Jonathan Groff. On Broadway, best known for the lead in “Spring Awakening”. On tv, had a recurring role in Glee and most recently starting in “Mindhunter”. In fIlm, he was Kristoff in “Frozen” and Smith in last year’s “Matrix Resurrections”

If you can do a reaction video to anything or everything Spring Awakenings w/ Jonathan Geoff, the music is great for that show & that’s a very bold storytelling. They also had a 15th anniversary concert of the music w/ the original cast he’s in, that was awesome too!!

The runner-up used to be vice president. Thomas Jefferson changed it (as mentioned in a later song) because "he didn't like his vice president" according to my 3rd grade teacher. Aaron Burr was his Vice President, who killed Hamilton during his time as VP.

Actually, Jefferson didn't personally change it because it took an amendment to the Constitution. It was changed by the twelfth amendment to the US Constitution which was proposed by the Congress on December 9, 1803, and was ratified by the requisite three-fourths of state legislatures on June 15, 1804. The new rules took effect for the 1804 presidential election and have governed all subsequent presidential elections. For the explicit details of the original and then the newer process for president and vice president elections, see the Wikipedia entry for "Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution."

They did leave in the part about Adams firing Hamilton plus the immigrant slur right but the cut version of Adams Administration where Hamilton claps back is absolutely hilarious to me

The king is Jonathan Groff. He’s done other Broadway things, including Spring Awakening. He’s the voice of Kristof in Frozen, and he’s done some TV and movie stuff as well.

Jonathan Groff is literally amazing. Look for his performance of Anything Goes and Amish Paradise (hilarious because he grew up in an area with a LOT of Amish people.)

The runner up was automatically elected vice president, because they weren’t “campaigning” as they do nowadays. So they weren’t really political enemies, but just the ones, the people trusted the most. Aaron burr was the first one to really campaign and try to be president, which you’ll see in Election of 1800

I love that narrator-burr spots the king for a moment and glances at the audience like "you see this guy too, right?"

Yes the person who was second after the the winner/president in the election became vice president back then no matter of which political party which is interesting Adams was actually Washingtons Vice if I remember correctly and Jefferson as established here was then his Vice I'm excited for you reaction to the next songs 😅

So quick history fact that I don't know if anyone else has said. Adams basically lost power not just because of Hamilton but also because of his very controversial Alien and Sedetion Acts and because of the XYZ Affair. The Alien and Sedition Acts basically tightened restrictions on foriegn-born Americans and limited speech critial if the government. The XYZ Affair was basically a Quasi-War with French diplomats. Both really destroyed Adams' administration, making him lose the 1800 election and having him be the first U.S. president to only serve one term!

What's so hypocritical is Brurr had his own affair with Theodosia and Thomas Jefferson was having an affair with his slave/concubine Sally Hemmings.
@puzzlepiecemedia

But they didn’t go after him for the affair. They thought he was embezzling money for his own gain. That’s why he admits to the affair to prove that he didn’t break any laws.

I kinda wish the runner up could be vice president now. It would be really interesting and probably a more balanced country. But we'd never get much done I guess. And the VP would be trying to kill the president. But it is interesting. 😶

John Adams fashioned himself to be a great leader like Washington. And frankly his heart was in the right place. the problem was he was utterly inflexable and intractible. And his pride prevented him from bending to the growing party system. so while the federalists (hamilton's created party) backed adams for president, John Adams never really was a federalist. and he never really liked Alexander Hamilton. Early in Adams presidency Adams decided he was going to make it clear publically that he was like Washington and was opposed to political parties and would not play politics with the governence of the country, and he decided to do this by slandering alexander hamilton. well hamilton did what he did best and absolutely eviscerated John Adams in the press, breaking the federalist party from him completely. and effectively dooming his presidency, becuase Thomas Jefferson wasn't playin nice, and was playing for keeps, so the democratic-republicans wouldn't help him, and the federalist wouldn't help him. so he turned himself into america's first one term president. that's what they meant by saying Hamilton destroyed adam's presidency.

Can you react to "21 chump Street" by lin-manuel Miranda? It's a short play around 14 minutes. Based on a true story and Anthony Ramos is in it. Who plays John Laurens.

Yeah, Adams' presidency was pretty...short and dumb, not to mention full of in-fighting.

And Hamilton wasn't covering anything up. I'm not sure how you got that from what he said. He was doing the exact opposite of covering it up, he was running down the list of pieces of evidence that showed that he was NOT embezzling the country's money for his own profit and that all the money he sent to James Reynolds was his own.
