I think they did really pay him, but it's more like for the lore to show they are not happy to fund his.. activities 😅 (kinda have to pay or how do you get as easily contestants later on, atleast does effect that). The activities just also is why I don't think there would be much more than fishtank related stuff with Burt as a guest and yeah. He wasn't at the end really mad as Sam as he had all the time been, so clearly what happened was what I tought aka they had a private discussion. About Burt's life and how to go forward in multiple sense. I just don't still think he can leave the overt you know what kinda life 😄 or tone it down. He did say that yeah it is kinda problematic and an addiction, but in the same video reverts back to being the daddy Burt with some things he says 😄 Those things just don't jive with Sam and Fishtank have Always had kinda a self-improvement side to it at the very end. Can we really say he "won"? In S1 and S2 they competed until the very end, but S3 turned into Sam Hyde's Family Vacation for the last two weeks. There was no competition; production decided who they wanted to win and then killed off his competitors with anticlimactic "elimination chocolate" type shit. The S3 finale makes TJ's coddle-fest look like a tour in Vietnam by comparison.

I think they decided to just turn this into a unique and artistic real-life documentary once they got kicked out of the house. The RV and Vegas half of the season was hard to watch live, but I think the final product is pretty amazing if you think about it. I mean, it was a powerful, raw, intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone involved, even for us at home watching live. It's obviously not what we were expecting, but I think it basically turned into a real-world Fishtank where production itself became fish sort of. Anyway, I was pissed about how boring and janky the RV/Vegas stuff was, but now that it's all over I wouldn't have wanted it to play out any other way. EDIT: Okay, they should have probably done an epilogue/stinger showing that all the contestants got some money and were happy with the experience, but hopefully that's still to come in some form.

This was a beautiful thing to watch, but the scripted eliminations and ending removed the competitive aspect of the show entirely. It was awesome watching TJ and Shinji pummel each other for thirty minutes. The victory was hard earned. Leaving Burt in the desert was entertaining but empty.
