These guys are fantastic! Let’s be clear though Anne made it very obvious that they were tortured lovers from the beginning. Nothing was held back. Like Sam says, the first half of the book establishes what they are to each other. It’s all text from the first book to the latest in the vampire chronicles. Anne didn’t shy away from creating these vampires that are very sexual beings 😎🩸 🍷

I am sure it it’s confusing acting out a sexual orientation not yours because they have to channel the chemistry from somewhere, like look at each other with attraction makes me wonder if they can develop feelings even through they do not orient that way but individually they both did an amazing job and everything else is the movie magic, Louis has an innocence/nativity to him which is attractive not to mention he looks incredible on screen and Lestat has just created a league of his own he looks incredible and projected as charming which definitely translate on the screen and I just can’t wrap my head around the acting skills this dude has! I never thought I would enjoy a drama like this being straight but this made me feel emotional and warned my heart and Lestat is my one of the all time fav character because of the actor

These two are so genuine with each other. The way Jacob looks intently at Sam while Sam speaks 🥲 I can’t get over their level of chemistry on screen, and I can definitely see where it all comes from in their interviews together. I wish I could just watch a wholesome sitcom of these two vampires in their day to day domesticity. I don’t even need a plot, I just need these two together.

I really enjoyed watching them. I’m a queer man who leans towards watching toxicity in relationships. As someone who was sexually abused and exploited as a child, and has been in a couple shitty relationships, I grew to dislike romance and intimacy as a whole. In real life I don’t feel romantic feelings at all, and in fiction I used to despise it. Now though? I love it. I especially love relationships with a little bit of codependency haha. I can’t watch the romance genre on its own, so this show really did it for me. Obviously I’d never support a relationship like Louis and Lestat’s in the real world, but watching it play out on screen is wonderful and I’m so happy the actors are good friends! It’s always nice to see pure friendships between actors.

I think ppl focus on the word “chemistry” so much when what actors are supposed to be able to create is energy. You’re not going to click w every cast member of every show or film BUT it’s your job to deliver something believable which comes in the form of energy. The energy is created with the actors getting to know each other outside of the character, getting to know their characters, then talking about their characters together and where they go. You have to build some form of a relationship in order for the audience to feel authentic “chemistry”

I actually don't know if this might of any interest to you but I'd recommend watching God's own country, this British indie film which in my opinion was far superior to CMBYN. Elio and Oliver were amazing, the cinematography and score everything was top notch but in terms of chemistry I'd say Josh O Connor and Alec Secreanu are the winners. Closely followed by Sam and Jacob ofc 😍😍

Kit Connor was bullied on social media and accused of queerbaiting, and the poor lad had to finally reveal he was bisexual to stop the trolls. Joe Locke came out in a magazine last year, and he felt always judged by people who wanted to know his sexuality. This seems to be the case now. Never happened before social media. I think people think they can troll and hurt people online in these shows because they are hidden by their computer. I wonder if publishing these trolls IP address would make them crap themselves?
