I try not to head out and expect to get a 'portfolio' image even when conditions are perfect. I just enjoy getting out with my camera in beautiful locations whether on my own or with others. If I do get an image I'm happy with then that's a bonus on top of a great day out

Lovely video Sam and good luck with the walk. I used to watch 'The Munro Show' which featured the poet Sorley MacLean talking about the naming and pronunciation of mountain names. I recall him saying ' No self respecting Torridon Man would say Lia-T-ach, it is Lia-G-ach'. Glad to hear that you know your Gaelic so as not to upset the Bard.

Thank you Keith, actually it's from watching the Munro Show videos that I learned this pronunciation! I love those clips of Sorley at the start, brilliant! I still struggle with the pronunciation of Maol Chean-dearg though, you might have noticed that I managed to avoid that one in this video 😅.

Oh to have vistas like that on my doorstep 😁 just caught up with your video, I’m well behind with my viewing at the moment. Really enjoyed it, and it makes me realise I need to scope out a few locations not too far from me such as the Malverns, the Clent hills or at a push the Shropshire hills perhaps. As your video started I thought the conditions looked great, and you were justly rewarded with some lovely photos. Good luck with the forthcoming walk too.

Thank you very much Martin, and sorry for the late reply! I am a bit spoiled for local locations, although I used to live in Bristol so not too far away from the Malverns, and there are plenty of lovely locations around that area as well. It is nice having a few 'go-to' spots that you know you can get to easily! S

I must say when I changed a few years ago from the Canon 5D 3 to the Fuji film system I do miss using the 24-105. I still have it I've just not touched it in so many years now but I do think that is my all-time favourite lens Great imagery again well done
@BosePhotographyАй бұрын
I love the versatility of that lens, and also have a soft spot for it as it was my first 'L' series lens too. I still use it with the RF adapter, and would like to upgrade to the RF version at some point, but it's still a great lens. It gets a lot of bad 'rep' for being soft in the corners, which it is, but I don't think it really matters too much. I recently won an award for an image taken with it in the Natural Landscape Photography Awards, so it can't be that bad! :)

Like the approach, and as you approach retirement age, it’s one that tends to get used a lot more. Nice images there, I like some of the recession shots. 😊

Another great video, Sam. I was going to say you must show me that viewpoint next time I'm up, but I think I've worked out where it is anyway. Good luck with teh Lake District walk. I'll be in Singapore then, otherwise I might join you - just to wave you off, and have tea/coffee ready on the return.

Thank you Alan! Yep, it's quite a convenient spot this, just up the hill from Annat (I don't mind sharing it, it's fairly obvious where it is!).

Weird.. it came up on my recommendations and I clicked play and the 1st thing I notice is I was not subscribed...? Anyway, sorted. I'll just pop along to Torridon says he (you can go off people you know, lol) for a couple of hours shooting...lol Lovely morning light and images Sam - watched whilst having my 2nd cuppa of the day. My friends are currently doing the NC500 & today I think they arrive back in Inverness after 3 weeks of glorious travelling - I am guessing they might have passed through your area on one of the days. Loved the image at 4:37, I am not one for portrait format normally but the road illuminated leading towads the mountains works so well. Good luck with the walk.. I have never walked 25 miles, even on a flat track !! atb Al
@BosePhotography8 ай бұрын
You probably unsubscribed after I uploaded that video about studio lights (I would have done 🤣). If your friends were doing the full NC500 they certainly would have passed though (our house is 1.5 meters from the route!). I've got to say, I'm struggling with the training for the 25 miles. I just did a 12 mile walk, which didn't go too well, but I'm trying to tell myself that a 12 mile walk in Torridon, with elevation, is probably worse than 25 miles on a Lake District pavement 😬! Thanks for stopping by the channel again Alan, I hope that you and Deb are doing ok. S
