as a developer i need to make 2 remarks about this video. first at this price I'll be happy the app even starts because those are very low and they'll be basically working at around 10$ an hour if not less depending on their efficiency, and assuming this app takes around 10$ to finish i won't be accepting less than 500$ and that does not include the backend part. second thing, most developers suck at design so don't set your expectations too high in that part. personally i won't accept a job without a design or I'll have to charge extra to hire a designer for the job because i refuse to deliver shitty looking apps because that would reflect on the customer evaluation of my work as you can see here, or I'll have to use a UI Library that you approve before hand .

@cc32 жыл бұрын
@Med jed this just isn't true at all. Go use a service like flutterflow and create an app in 14 days. Now imagine the client adopts it but later wants all the buttons to have a shadow and animations. With the way these website builders and applications work, they typically generate code without splitting them into classes - you get a lot of repeated code. This kind of code is an absolute nightmare to maintain. My job is currently to push an update for an app that has been outsourced and developed in a rush meaning it takes a lot longer to add to the top of because instead of just extending classes like you would typically, you're having to manually change whitebutton34 to have the correct functionality. This method is fast and effective. It is not at all scalable or maintainable.

As a designer, going for an app dev without a UI design is a strong move, they will just rely on previous memorized best practices or sometimes the predefined UI of the framework, so it is for sure a compromising challenge even when going cheaper splitting this budget between and UX/UI designer and a dev can result on something relatively better. Also the dev will have a better environment if you tell him "make me literally that please" hence the price can go lower due to clarity. I have so many questions. As someone starting her first journey developing an app, my experience has been very different. My first question is, when you are looking for an app developer, I am assuming you have already completed the design process? I had a different journey. I created a rough draft on Adobe XD and hired a designer to refine the design and fill in any missing screens. I then shared the design files from Figma with the developers, and they quoted me at USD 13K, broken down into milestones. This process goes on for the website design and development, hiring a lawyer etc. So my question is, how is your pricing so different than mine? So far, I have invested a significant amount of my own money, started the process in Jan 2021, with the projected launch date in June 2022. 'One week for $200' is a considerable gap, so I am curious.

You did it much more safe. He has a back-end and no security. people's data but no GDPR. 5 different apps that all look exactly the same, because his "developers" aren't developing jack, just pasting something they found on Canyon. The MOMENT he wanted something custom they'd freak out and wonder what to do b/c none of them can really make things, except maybe Ali who didn't really dev anything, but he definitely expanded. A typical app takes MONTHS to make. How did you feel about the user typing in 5 URL's? NOBODY DOES THAT. He didn't think about how useful his app really is or better things. I've made apps for 11 years at various enterprises and startups. There's a reason you pay more. 13k isn't very bad, especially if you get more than a month's worth of work. He made a few mistakes as a designer, and A LOT of mistakes from a developers viewpoint. 5 bucks says if he shoved his Android app through a profiler he'd have more memory leaks than a cat will have of leftover food in their bowl when they get their less-favorable brand. Edit: I'm used to design processes that range from full Software analysis to redlines to agile game development. Though I tend to write prototypes faster in iOS than I can make in Figma, so I just make a live version as a demo, with minimal logic under the hood, b/c it's faster that way. Now I need to lecture him so that others coming across the video don't get bad idea.

I am glad that I seen this video, because I can not live on $200 for two weeks of work, but than again, I live in America. I guess that is what is driving most people out of the field, not enough to live on. The people that find cheapest developer from outside the country, puts everyone at risk for security issue and intrusion concern.

The thing here is idk why he's being so tough with the developers i mean he was the one giving them instructions for how the app should be, so basically you're giving them requirements, if all they did was that they did a good job, he was probably not a good client since all of them have the same design and the same functionalities, besides the prices were very cheap, the results were expected, if you'd like a perfect app then be more specific and they'll ask you to pay more or learn to code yourself and make it how u want

You can't expect people to deliver you a good app for sub 300$, these guys have to pay their rent, like everyone else, and that is pretty tuff if you are a freelancer and only make 5$ per hour.
