Hi Jordan! A little trick my Mom taught me when I was younger and couldn’t open a jar lid. Take the thicker end of a butter knife and hit the lid on like 3 different sides and it will open. It’s never failed me yet. There are also rubber grippers that are round and you can get enough grip on the lid to get it open. Thanks for sharing your video and the comparisons. Val

I use to do that as my ex-husband taught me that trick. My Mum saw me do it one day, horrified, and told me to stop. (No, that isn't why I divorced the ex-husband). She said that the knife dented the lid and would compromise the lid having an airtight seal for storing the unused portion. So...I went back to using a bit of hot water and muscle. But I had thought that maybe for pickles it would be fine since the brine of the pickle sauce is a preservative anyway. 😄I am right-handed and I think that bicep is slightly larger from opening jars. If I had been a kid, I might have given it a whirl as a science fair project by seeing if a muscled open jar or a knife opened jar had any difference in their identical products going...I dunno, moldy or something. Just turn the jar upside down and tap the lid on a solid surface 3 times and bingo. It's something sticky like a jar of jam then just run some boiled water over it to heat up the sugar before trying to open.

Great and informative video, thanks. By the way, I'm old with arthritic fingers and hands but never have problems opening jars. Just tap them lid side down on the floor and they pop right open so easily. The only jar it doesn't work for is beef extract (Bovril etc). You just need to run the lid of them under hot water if they get stuck. Hope this helps some people x

The silicone baking mats are easy! After use, just clean with dish soap like anything else and let dry. I lay them flat to store, so they keep the best shape. Love them! Just make sure you know what temp they are safe to use at. Also, they can be used for chocolate/candy making too.

Way back in the day I used to work for a lithographic company and that's where I learned that most of the 'lower' quality brand products were actually made by the 'higher' priced and branded companies. We made and shipped the labels, that's how I found out. It makes sense, someone's got to produce the products, right? And if Betty Crocker or Starkist are already making products, then there is no additional cost for equipment, other than to run it. That doesn't necessarily mean that the quality control or even the contents are the same, but it did give me enough confidence to go ahead and use the lesser priced items as a single mom raising my kiddo.

I had an earring post break off of an earring. I contacted them, sent some pictures and they refunded my money. I even got to keep the broken product. No returning the physical item. Another time I ordered a blouse. It was supposed to be a jacket with a cute blouse under it , NOT! It was a jacket only . No pretty little blouse. Again sent pictures and money refunded! I have 2 thoughts on Temu: 1) Many of there products are closeouts and overstocks. Once it sells out, that's it. You can't go back for seconds of the same thing. (W-M operates like this.) Then they fill in with some standard, reorderable stock on other products. This is how they can offer such low prices (for now). 2) Temu is a start-up company. So, for the moment, they are offering attractive pricing. However, once they edge out the competition, we will see these bargain prices disappear. It has begun already. They show you a picture of something desirable at an eye-popping price. Then, when you open that file, you will see several options (size, color, number). The picture they show you is the 280 count, say of colored pencils, but there is a 12 count pack, a 36, 48, 72, 120, 180, and 280 count. The awesome price is not for the 280, it's for the 12 count pack. The 280 when you select it goes for over 100 US dollars. A far cry from the 6.48 price quoted. 😮

Temu has awesome items, however it takes longer to come that’s the reason why you pay more with Amazon but with Amazon prime it comes quick! I hate waiting more than 5 days for orders and with Temu it’s a good two weeks, and the ship one or two items at a time. I got a memory foam mattress from Temu that came quickly and I absolutely looove it!

Some things are cheaper made than others. Make sure you look at ALL the pictures so you see what you are getting. The first two pics are usually from a catalogue, then you see THEIR item made to "look" like it. I've only had two things I didn't care for. Customer service helped right away and were accomodating. I did buy one pair of slip on shoes that were athletic, the bottom of shoe did smell.

Some pics are exactly the same all through the pics, then you know that it is usually the same exact item, and I like finding those. Also, know your measurements. Once you hit on a size, measurements come up. Go by those and you won't go wrong. Also, scroll down and see if anyone bought the item in the reviews. Some show the item on, and some show pics of item. That can tell you alot.

I’ve ordered lots of stuff from them and must admit I’m overwhelmed with my stuff 99% of the time. Can’t understand how you found returns weren’t easy as I’ve always found them so so easy. If it’s 1 item or small ticket item they usually just refund you the money but if you do have to return it you just print out returns label and take to your local post office (at least here in UK that’s how it’s done)

It's good to see Amazon having a fierce competitor. Not even the US government has the power to demonopolize Amazon now. The company has horrendous business practices tracking the sales of each product of their sellers and contacting the suppliers and buying the same products to compete. They know exactly how many they can buy based on the data they collect. Their sellers pay lots of fees to Amazon to sell a product, while Amazon can maximize their profit without the fees they charge. They play a dirty game against their own supporters "sellers". But as a seller, you either join them and stick with the little profit, or you are out of business! As a buyer I love Amazon, but as a seller, I'm counting the days they will be dethroned.

When considering a product on Temu I always check the customer reviews. If a LOT of them say 'its cheap (Chinese) junk' I ask myself if I can deal with cheap for the item or keep looking. I see a some of '5 stars' with no comment but a lot more of the '1' and '2' have nothing to say and discount those. I buy a lot of stuff on Temu but try to rein in my compulsion for plastic gadgets and 'neat-O' novelties.

I should start this by admitting that I look both ways before I enter a one-way street so maybe I'm overly cautious or overly suspicious but something about this company does not sit well with me. It is a company in China and it is selling many of its products at prices that are clearly so cheap that it is not even self-sustaining so I have to ask myself how can any company do this and hope to remain in business? The answer to that is the only way they can do it is if they have someone backing them who has deep pockets and the only people I know in China who have pockets this deep is the Chinese government. So that leads me to my next question, which is WHY would the Chinese government, who is no friend to America, subsidize a company so it can sell items this cheap? The answer to that I think is self-evident. They are doing it because if they do it long enough they are putting a lot of American companies out of business and if they put American COMPANIES out of business they are also putting a lot of Americans out of jobs. Once they shut down enough American companies they can then raise the prices of THEIR products to basically anything they want to charge because they will have a monopoly and we will either buy from them or we will not buy...PERIOD. I LOVE the idea that I might get a sweater from Temu for three bucks but I love even more the thought that my nice young neighbor keeps his job so he can continue to feed his three kids. I hope everyone will think about this when they are tempted to buy from this company. I personally cannot in good conscience, buy from them.

Temu's prices are good (most of the time) but I still use Amazon more based on the shipping speed, Unless its something I don't need for a while, I'd rather pay a couple extra dollars to get my items in 2 days or less vs the 7-14 days Temu usually takes

I have a passport holder that I got a couple of years ago from Amazon. It is a nice weight and made from "faux leather." I recently bought 2 more from Temu for some clients. They were half the price of Amazon, but they were flimsier (is that a word). My clients are happy with them, but they are not the same. Still for the price, I think it's worth it.

TEMU gives you an expected delivery date window. If your order doesn’t come within that time period, they give you a $5 credit on your next order. ALL of my orders have come within the time frame given by TEMU.
