If you're gender identity were influenced by the gender of musicians you listen to, I wouldn't have detransitioned at 14. Also, if kids were influenced to "turn trans" by knowing trans people exist, I never would have transitioned in the first place lol. For a cis guy, I disprove a number of transphobic myths lol.

I find it weird how the dad's friend goes "We never had this kind of gender stuff. I'm an 80's guy, y'know" but during that time the glam rock era was mainstream where rock stars would wear flamboyant or non-traditional male clothing against gender roles. my favorite “how did you know you were gay at 13?” lol… how did you know dating the opposite sex at 13 was your thing? adults would literally ‘pressure’ kids into developing crushes or encourage them to court because it’s cute from an outside perspective, but being accepting of a kids gender identity is grooming? comphet is a nightmare.

Bro fr! No amount of teacher questioning would make me think I'm actually a man. I was born a girl and I feel very happy and confident as a woman. If my teacher asked me if I'm *really* a woman because I'm hairy and built like a fridge I'd just think the teacher was weird and I wouldn't question my gender. No amount of "grooming" from teachers will make a child "turn trans." Whatever that means. If someone is transgender they will most likely figure it out and realize in their own. Heck, it is more discouraged to be trans, no one would just decide to do it. That is setting yourself up for a lot of aggression from most people for no reason. Seriously, conservatives are SO dumb.

I was out as trans while we were having the sex Ed class in middle school and there was a part where the school nurse that was teaching was asking people to do roles and read this script thing (so dumb) they needed one more boy to volunteer and I said I would do it and was told I couldn’t because I’m not a real boy. Sex Ed doesn’t talk about trans people and if they do it’s not anything that would “influence” anyone. (I went to school that only taught abstinence to the point where we had to sign a contract saying we wouldn’t have sex before marriage to pass the class)
@PurpleFlames87
@PurpleFlames87 Жыл бұрын
You are a real boy (or maybe man now), even if you don't feel like it. I also think that the whole abstinence contract thing is weird. Why does the school need to get into student's sex lives like that? Obviously it's a lot more risky when you're young, especially if teen pregnancy occurs, but it's still weird for the school to be involved in that at all when it's really more of a concern for the doctors to handle.

I’m incredibly lucky that I have understanding and accepting parents, but even despite KNOWING that it was safe for me to come out I still lied and hid who I was. My point is, if being exposed to education and conversations about gender identity didn’t make ME, an actual trans person, come out when I KNEW it was safe…wtf makes you think that it’s magically going to start turning cis children trans? I have been called a p edo/evil/g roomer for what I do, and it breaks my heart that my students have to endure the transphobia in the world and even in school. The government took our funding away and I'm devastated. How can you be "too young" to understand yourself? What is the "magic age" they can know? I know it's different but I knew I wasn't straight as practically a child. Also in fifth grade we were taught about puberty for like one class to make sure kids didn't freak out over their body changing or periods or whatever. If people think learning about puberty is scary or g rooming, that's really just people sexualizing any child going through puberty. Also it just trivializes what g rooming actually is.

As a trans girl, this makes me so uncomfortable. I realized I was trans when I was 15/16. I was never really taught anything about it until I did my own research and made trans friends. And even then I didn't really get it. Now, I see a lot more signs that I was trans since I was young. I won't go in depth here, but it's very similar to what they talk about in the video. I didn't get a haircut for about 3 years straight. I had always hated them. My hair never looked the way I wanted to. If only I had someone to explain to me what "being trans" was. Maybe during an earlier age I could've been who I wanted to be. 15 is a fine age to realize, don't get me wrong. But there's nothing wrong with learning about things and then realizing that it might apply to you. That happens all the time with other things such as hobbies. You see someone doing something that looks cool, and you want to do it yourself. Gender expression really is not that complicated. What's featured in the video isn't even that extreme. Its a name change and some stereotypical "girly" things. Anyone that is a man could do the exact same thing, and that would not change who they are. Trans people can and usually will do these things to try and fit in, but sometimes they won't. Because they don't need to. They can live their lives doing what they want. It isn't any different that a hobby. It shouldn't be treated any differently.

I recall every middle/high school sex ed course or class I've ever taken, and have made it a point in the past to ask my peers about their own experiences in sex education in an attempt to address this particular lie, that schools are "teaching" kids to be transgender. Not a single one has ever expressed anything remotely close to this reality. Most of them don't even recall transgenderism being part of the curriculum. Of the handful of parents I know with school-age kids, the only ones who think transgenderism is being "taught" are the ones with an absolutely abysmal history of education themselves. When pressed on the issue, those parents never have examples of this phenomenon, even though it is the foundation upon which they build their prejudice. Me: "Well, how did they try to teach your kid about transgendrism?" Them: "They made my son read lewd material and tried to manipulate him!" Me: "No, I heard you the first time. I'm asking, what specific book or resource was this ideology pulled from?" Them: "I don't remember the exact book. I just remember that it disgusted me!"

@@blackpajamas6600 Oh I will! Actually at the time I didn't realize that I was probably bi. It's something I'm coming to terms with just now (because i have very homophobic parents), so I thought it was weird at the time that the people in the couples had names that are commonly used for boys and girls. So it kinda left that up to interpretation to each student to think about if they thought it was a heterosexual couple or not. And having grown up in a homophobic household i was like 😧 I can't tell if this is supposed to be a boy and a girl or not! But now that I am discovering (on my own, not because anyone convinced me to) that I probably like girls, too, I look back on the experience and see it differently. Had I known i was bi then i probably would not have felt completely included. The teachings were very much open to interpretation if you wanted to see it as a same sex couple but it was never confirmed to be that way. And so it still felt like the majority of the teaching was very heteronormative. Considering my teacher in particular was VERY big on abstinence so girls won't get pregnant. But the rest of the lessons just kinda covered birth control and not falling into abusive relationships. So next time i hear someone trying to argue that they're trying to change kids in sex Ed i will definitely know that it's far from that. And it's still as uncomfortable as ever to have your biology teacher tell you how his wife went crazy after taking a birth control shot. 💀 My brother had his sex Ed class in 2021, so I'll have to ask him for his even more recent input. :)

I'd like to think that the reason Sameer describes himself as a "young film-maker" is not because he thinks highly of himself or anything but because he's trying to appeal to his overwhelmingly pubescent audience. He knows that the rabid kids who bankroll Jake/Logan Paul and similar young KZbinrs would never watch moralistic content from a middle-aged man. I think even Dhar Mann attempts to evoke this "young and upcoming KZbinr" vibe. It's why Sameer shaved his head bald. He knows his gray, receding hairline reminds kids of their parents and he wants to de-age his face as much as he possibly can.

Also it’s so tiring seeing ppl act like they’re the ones who have to take hormones and change their name etc like if you wouldn’t do it fine idc but no one’s forcing you to I’m just asking you to address me the I want 😭

The most I got at age 7 was a 30 minute simunar after school that all of the girls attended that taught us about periods and how if we start bleeding its natural and you're not dying. Anything other than that is still way too young imo

Guys…. I took sex Ed and now I’m trans. I think something went wrong…….. Obviously being goofy, being trans has been hell. I live in a transphobic and homophobic household so I couldn’t easily just tell teachers I wanted to be called Kyle, because I’m fairly positive I would’ve been outed to my family. I was already bullied enough being the “weird” kid, so I was also just scared to out myself as trans. Once I got out of public school I’ve actually gotten so much better, I’ve been able to be a lot happier with who I am, and people I know actually address me as a male and call me Kyle. I found out I wanted to use he/him about 7th-8th grade, mainly 8th grade. I was dating someone who wasn’t comfortable with me using just he/him, so I used she/her too. When we broke up I practically immediately became trans because I realized who I am. My boyfriend currently lets me be who I am and helps me out a lot, I am so happy to love someone who loves me for who I am. Also, I want to say I started school early, so I was around 13-14 when I realized im trans.

8:27 I'm sorry but I think 7 years old for that kind of health class is just a bit too young. How did this dude not expect his son to question himself and a lot of other stuff when he is still basically a kid? If he really did care about how he wanted his son to turn out, he would have waited until he was truly ready to understand those kinds of things. Plus, I'm pretty sure schools have to get permission from the parents which get an overview of what the class is gonna discuss. It's not like you check a box off of what gender you are. Dude, this wannabe Dhar Mann video is whack 😂. Please just stop over-generalizing all trans people or trans supporters as creeps 😭.

@@suspiciousstar7547 "drastic?" in the majority of cases it is not drastic, people just say that shit without understanding. people that say gender identity should be explored at any age are not saying to give kids surgeries or hormones, but to let them choose what they play with, what colors they like, how long their hair is or if they get painted nails. that kind of thing. what pronouns they want to be referred to. as a trans guy myself i knew since a very young age but because i wasnt educated it took me a shit ton of time to figure it out and come to terms with it. being trans isn't an adult thing just like being born cis isn't, its just who you are. if kids are allowed plenty of time to decide and explore it makes future adult decisions easier since they have a better understanding of themselves (like hormones or surgeries whenever they are of age if they're trans)
