I have uncle who was stern but honest guy, and when my cousin came back with a drug awareness thing, he took one look at, called all the kids to the family room, and told us about drugs. Now at one point he said “if you die of a drug overdose that means your a coward who got you ass kicked by something that doesn’t even have arms or a brain, and your gonna hurt the once around you”. And so all of us (me, my brothers, and like 12 cousins) all took an oath that he made us say other wise he would loose his respect, and the oath was “I will never be consumed by simple pleasures, I will not become a coward to my temptations, I will be my own person”. And this man still tells stories of how he found dead bodies on his way to a battlefield, I love my uncle and his life lessons.
