Love how Sammy handled that heckler with poise, empathy, and humor. He didn’t kick her out but turned the situation into a teaching moment. This level of communication skills and emotional intelligence is what makes him such a talented comedian. Can’t wait to go see him again!

Agreed. He responded and did not react. I could see the teacher in him making it a teachable moment. Truly a comic 2.0 who brings humour, education and learning. That person may have been triggered with her trauma but I think he dealt with it well. 💜

If there was something wrong with her mental health, she was there with someone and that someone could have removed her sooner. You’re very empathetic. But, I honestly think this is just a selfish person who cared o my about herself and not about all the other people in the room who paid for tickets. Not cool.

@AMA212122 күн бұрын
She’ll be embarrassed later when she calms down. Whatever trauma was bubbling beneath the surface even a look or a specific word or tone can trigger an unconscious emotional reaction. The worst part is the outburst when they do it in public. I know this bc I grew up w a parent just like this. They get reactive, don’t know how to cope under some perceived threat & lash out like a lunatic. I’m just glad she didn’t go into a rage & jump on stage. I feel both embarrassed but mostly just really sad for her bc of my first hand experience. However, it does not make it right. At all. Ever! Sammy handled it like a pro. He did his best which was seriously so much more than how most would handle it, so big up to you Sammy you class act! 👏

This is what being in your trauma looks like. She got triggered, she felt like she had to stand up for herself; why she didn't think she was making commentary. She felt shut down and attacked. I hope she has a good therapist and at least she won't leave a bad yelp review. 😂 Would love Dr. Ramani's take on this person's narcissism and trauma
@LeylaNiyazovКүн бұрын
Exactly. She's dysregulated and perceives comments as personal attacks to her. We all can get dysregulated. I hope she gains skills to keep herself emotionally regulated.
@maryfarrell9439Күн бұрын
Well, hopefully she learns from this, and gets help if she needs it. Her behaviour isn’t socially acceptable, and the kind but firm response she got here is exactly what she needs to learn that she has a problem. Making excuses for people or giving them a pass doesn’t help them.
@stephenmcinerney9457Сағат бұрын
Dr Ramani is great, but we shouldn't suffer from expertitis, as Abigail Shrier says; functioning adults already know not to act like this woman without having to consult an expert. And this woman can go sort out her head without disrupting a comedy gig, or other public event.

People like her ALWAYS resort to tears once they get called out for their bs. And the reason they do is because they’re so used to being coddled instead of being told directly that their behavior is unacceptable (though sometimes it’s because they won’t accept that their behavior is unacceptable). They’re so used to starting fights and arguments and “winning” that the moment things don’t go their way they resort to tears. They cry because that’s the moment most people would concede and let them win. And even if they don’t, someone else will. Be it their partner, parents or a close friend, whoever. I usually prefer to avoid confrontations but people like her *need* interactions like this because otherwise they would continue their annoying song and dance. This woman may still continue her behavior but at least now she knows that it’s not cool and she heard it from someone she ostensibly admires and that may get her to think twice next time.
@QiotiCoyote12 сағат бұрын
This video is so important because he handled the situation perfectly. Literally no notes Like this is what you should always do in situations where someone is pulling this shit to not only run it through what is happening, educating them and helping them see past their emotions but also he showed sympathy or at least understanding that shes not just some random crazy annoying person. Shes someone who said something, then felt bad, and probably felt embarassed she couldnt let it go. He recognized her feelings to her, helping to make her feel shes equal and not just being attacked. People get defensive when it feels your being scolded but ultimately its like how you would talk to a kid, is how you should with people like this. once you realize people have their own emotions and reasons for behaving, as obvious as that is, then you are able to feel empathy and sympathy im so high rn idk if that makes sense but i do know this type of handling in my experience, can change people. This video will do good to encourage understanding
