True, genetics even plays on how one responds to whatever they may eat too, so true.
@cortuscassidy18322 жыл бұрын
Hey Sam and Lee, Just checking out the video and Lee is making some excellent points. As we get older and more experienced whe learn what our bodies respond to best. A younger guy might need a high dose of a preworkout to get motivated but an older, more experienced body builder can get by with half as much. That's because he knows his body and knows what will make him too anxious and ruin his work out. Less is better in my opinion of it allows you to achieve the same results. Finally, Lee, I watched you throughout the video and I couldn't see any difference between your left arm/shoulder and your right arm/ shoulder. Looks like you're on the mend. God bless ya. I know it's been a long hard road.
@exodus35182 жыл бұрын
This is such good advice. Find a routine that " feels" works, and a diet that you can sustain day by day. I feel great doing slow negatives but others hate it. Squats help, but i feel honestly my posture is off.
@karlball422 жыл бұрын
Not the correct subject I know but Lee's advice on narrow grip benching hand placement was SPOT ON for me, I had been doing them with my hands 6-8" apart once I tried Lee's method - huge difference, likely cos we are the same height but it made all the difference for me.

It's really hard to argue with your common sense approach to training plus I enjoy your temperament. I'm old school and my best powerlifting program is from 1992 and amazingly enough it still works. I got back into powerlifting in 2021 after bicep and shoulder surgery in 2020. On KZbin I found myself watching Louie Simmons podcasts during my recovery. After watching his last podcast in the beginning of 2022 I started really getting into their training style and bam he's gone. After that Westside Barbell just seemed to be everywhere and everyone who trained there seems to have a program to share. With that said the Westside philosophy seemed to be keep changing everything up all the time so your muscles doesn't get used to any one specific exercise. Could be one reason why everyone is changing everything up every week. I don't need to worry about confusing my muscles, after watching enough of the "new" training programs I was confused enough for my whole body without even going to the gym...

One of the best things you can do as a lifter interested in aesthetics and performance is to study the philosophy of Old-School bodybuilders. Old-School bodybuilders were ingenious physique architects. They had a profound knowledge of the principles of proper nutrition, smart supplementation, exercise science and muscle adaptability. If you combine Old-School bodybuilding wisdom with modern, evidence-based science, it's the best, safest, most effective way in achieving a strong, sexy, healthy and aesthetic physique. Vintage Physique by George Kelly is a nice book on this. It includes 3 body recomposition protocols (diet + training + supplements) depending on your training level.

Lee is right.. All comes down to genetics. You can take everything takes and eat what he does and you won't even look half as good as him in the end. His mom was a bodybuilder so he already had the genes when he was born. I accepted long agoo. My physique is shit. My parents physiques were shit and we didn't have much athletic ability at all. Well, I better get good at something else. because I sure as shit will never make Olympia or play in the NBA.. So why kill myself trying to do it? LOL
