Hi Sam Nice review. GNR Class J13 was reclassified by LNER as J52. LNER used the initial letter to describe wheel arrangements - J was for 0-6-0 locomotives (A was for 4-6-2's and B was for 4-6-0's etc etc).

you were right. that 3rd locomotive you ran in the running session was a London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) J72 class, also known as a North Eastern Railway (NER) E1 class.

I generally run my Terriers with small trains, 2662 with two Maunsell coaches or three four wheel coaches. Bodiam with one four wheel coach and even with one four wheel coach and goods wagons behind it.

Ah lovely! I recently got myself a Great Northern liveried Hornby N2 at Warley for £45 (quite a good bargain I think lol) and with the locomotionmodels/Rapido Stirling Single on order as well I'm starting to build up a Great Northern fleet! So I would like to add the J13 to my fleet soon but I've only ever been able to find it in BR or LNER black...definitely full of charm this model!

Have you heard about the wrenn un rebuilt West Country Canadian Pacific in southern wartime black? It's even rarer then Plymouth, as only 102 were made during the early nineties. There is one for sail on eBay that's in mint condition and it's going for £775.00! I could never afford that! Super video by the way and have a lovely Christmas!😁

It was actually classified as a J13 on The Great Northern Railway, it was later classified as a J52 on The LNER.

yay on the lil terroyer going gain, i think it was giong up hill that made it fail as you normally have it going down the hill good to see its going again, plus that is a nice lil engine maybe someone tok it apart and put the rods up the wrong way as they were doing it upside down so thought it was right, either way that's been fixed and it'll be a nice engine to see in 2018 doing some shunting

I do love j52's. I have a little siding next to my engine shed that would look nice with a tank engine on it and I'm not sure if i want to put a j50 or a j52 there. I like j50s because they look so unique but the j52 looks so nice and has a bit more charm in my opinion

You aren't wrong that it's a J13, it' only J52 if it's LNER or BR livery because the LNER reclassified a lot of the locomotives from the railways that it was made from, including the J13. Bill and Ben must have worked very hard to get all that coal dust on them! Whitechapel went up in smoke? I didn't watch the Toby review..... I am looking forward to a train, the MTH HO Scale Norfolk & Western J class #611, it's way to expensive for me to buy myself $449.99 or £336.84, MTH is the manufacturer, peculiar name and I don't know if it's an acronym. Hello again Sam, you done it again mate, a fantastic review of the Hornby GNR J13 Tank Engine, that was worth the wait. I'm very proud to see the Hornby Terrier running onces again with a new motor. I too own a Hornby J13 Tank Engine, not 1, but 2 of them from the 1980s, I have No.1247 the preserved locomotive in model form, she works very well and the another Hornby J13, but in LNER Wartime Black, she doesn't run very well, so she's on display. The Hornby Green Tank Engine pulling the Blood & Custard Teak Coaches is a LNER J83 Class Tank Engine, hope this helps. Hi Sam! Merry Christmas and have a good one, me and my mum went out to our local model railway shop to choose my dad's Christmas present (A Hornby Class 40 with TTS sound, and WEATHERED :D) I also got 4 tri-ang coaches (MK1) which all need a bit of work done to them so that'll be a fun project! I also got a Virgin MK2E coach with lights to go with my other two, might go back and get it, hopefully I'll have some Christmas money to buy one of their Bachmann 37's as they're £65.00 which is a great deal, I don't know which one to get though...EW&S, Swallow, BR Large logo or so many more...Its kinda hard hah! I like the dark green tank engine that looks like duck from Thomas and friends by the turn table, I don’t know the class because unfortunately hornby and locos from the UK isn’t very popular in the states so the model railroad and train magazines and books don’t feature them.

Great model, and glad to see the terrier working again. Also, didn't you start a new rating system his year, or have I lost my mind? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter as I'm pretty sure I already lost my mind along the way somewhere :) Hope you have a merry Christmas, and hope you get all the train's stuff your asking for ;). Personally I'm looking forward to some models for Christmas, but they are Star Trek rather trains, cause I don't really have a train layout and all my trains are o scale, and o scale locomotives are closer to $1000 than $100
