Yeah, too true. Samsung were leading the pack with phones like the S8 to the S10 (when we hit peak smartphone), & the modern fablet formfactor (which is pretty much every phone these days) essentially took off with the Note series around 2011. Samsung has lost it's way now though, & they're becoming a follower & not an innovator, like Apple always has been. Their 'same old same old' approach to foldables demonstrates that all too well.

@@nylotical Following the industry everywhere it goes is all iPhone's have done the last decade or so. When the fablet formfactor took off, which is basically every phone now (starting with the Dell Streak I think, then Samsung Note series) iPhones followed suit several years later. Then they followed the industry in adopting OLED displays, wireless charging, double & triple camera systems, etc, so much so the iPhone is basically just Apple's version of an Android flagship (with a few software differences). Apple could have gone in their own direction & done something different, but they just followed the industry everywhere it went. Sad thing is, more & more this is what Samsung are now doing. They used to take risks, now they're just playing it safe like Apple does. Samsung took risks with pushing foldable phone tech, but the last few years they've played it too safe & watched other manufacturers do all the innovating, which i'm sure Samsung will soon copy, which is the Apple way of doing things.

One issue with multipoint is it really affects the audio quality. Because basically the device needs to maintain a low level connection with both devices and that take bandwidth and then the actual audio channel. For the first multipoint devices sometimes it’d randomly switch onto that low quality connection instead of a higher quality connection and it’d become super robotic. Still love the feature, every Bluetooth audio device should have it.
@Ignacio.Romero3 ай бұрын
Unless you're using a high quality codec like LDAC, aptX HD or even aptX Adaptive (none of which are supported by Samsung), you won't lose any quality by using multipoint. Yes there may be occasions where the switch doesn't happen quickly enough and sound becomes robotic for a second like you described, just like while in a phone call (where the bandwidth is splitted in 2, one half for audio and the other for the microphone), but after that the connection is still full bandwidth SCB or AAC.

@@Elysium316 Well Apple's AAC encoder and decoder are vastly superior than Android's, which is partly why AirPods Pro sound great. As for Android, it has one of the worst AAC implementations ever (some phones can't even encode past 14kHz). In fact, on Android SBC sounds better than AAC most of the time. As for SSC, it's a Samsung proprietary codec that only exists because Samsung doesn't want to pay for LDAC or AptX HD/Adaptive. It's also only compatible with other Samsung devices, so very in theme with the video, copying the worst of Apple

1. I think you can argue apple has made the best shape (which might be weird in an alternate universe) normal. Many other companies have used it before, but haven't been called out for it like this, a bit inconsistent. Though it seems reasonable to use it, with a new flair apparently (the lights). 2. Partly, they probably don't have UWB, because of the battery consumption, we would probably see an hour or so less. 3. I don't think multipoint is that big of a deal. Most of the time the switching is difficult when eg having watched something on your ipad, then wanting to connect to idk tv or laptop. I feel like I would rather not have it and just wait a few more seconds to fully switch, I really would. 4. I would personally in general zoom out a bit and ask myself if I would even want to be part of an ecosystem, since losing control in a capitalist market like the one we have today would be pretty bad. But today, sadly, it seems there aren't any unbiased reviewers anymore.

I had the Airpods Pro 2 for my work iPhone. Returned them before the return window closed. They were okay but for $250 they were meh sound quality. For reference I have Sony XM3, XM4, XM5, Bose QC 2, Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 (most underrated buds), Galaxy Pro 1, Galaxy Pro 2. Returned the Sennheiser TWS 3 too bright for me...maybe if you like K-pop. So as per usual Samsung offered an extremely aggressive trade in deal for Buds Pro 3. No brainer. Out of the box the call quality and seamless multipoint pairing are instant keepers. Significantly better than Airpods Pro 2 and SONY only just recently added multipoint. Bose still hadn't figured it out. Build quality is excellent I was skeptical about the bladed design of the stems. But in person they remind of the expensive B&O wired buds. The case protector was included in the preorder and it was the first case protector that looks like actual case. Reversing the drop in placement for charging is a bit non intuitive but not worth crying over given the massive advantage of call quality... Easily the clear leader of any buds I used. The battery life is run of the mill for this price point. The find my buds feature is excellent since it adds the LED flashing which has been useful many times already when the rolled under my chair or bed or a corner. The swipe up and down for volume is perfect. The pinch functions have the nice audible feedback. Rant: I dont use wireless charging for any device because it's literally stupid. You're wasting energy and burning mega tonnage of coal for a less efficient charge. And your prematurely degrading your expensive to replace battery. People are so lazy they can't plug in a device..ridiculous. When your on the go just use a plug in powerbank. Mine has a little magnet that stick to the case just like a "magsafe" charger but without compromising the battery. As far as audio quality. Not as good as my Sony XM5. And for the money Way better than the Air Pods Pro 2 if you use the customizable EQ presets. It's not rocket science. Honestly call quality is really not a good reason to charge $250 and higher for buds now when so many sub $100 buds are delivering 99% of the sound quality. And with apps like wavelet that fully maximize LDAC support you really can't justify Airpods Pro pricing unless they have some killer feature like Bose level noise canceling or Sony XM5 battery life or Samsung Buds Pro 3 call quality. Airpods are sorta a jack of all trades master of none with a steep price given the alternative. Since Samsung offer generous trade in deals even if handing over Apple buds then it's very easy to get them for $100-$150. At that price they're by far the best daily buds if you are not on a life sentence as an iPhone slave.

Right now I use the Sony XM5s. And they sound great. They are tiny, they fit comfortably, the ANC works really well and the battery life is awesome. But... Unfortunatly they have a couple of very annoying issues. Compared to Samsung the controls are very limited. You can either have media control or ANC control. That's it. I miss being able to setup the controls the way I want. Also, you can't turn off the touch controls very easily. When it's raining and I'm wearing the hood of my rain jacket the hood will touch the touchpads. So the ANC keeps turning on and off or music is constantly pausing when it touches the other one. For Samsung buds you can just put a widget on your home screen to lock the touch controls. Then there are pretty severe connection issues. The range is fine but they seem very vulnerable to interference. Like when I'm at the train station and a train comes in they will stutter. Last week I was on an electric bus and when I sat all the way in the back they basically didn't work. In the front of the bus it was fine. Never had that issue with Samsung buds. All these issues make me want to switch to the Buds 3 Pro...

Great review, always look forward to your videos. What about mono audio tho? Do they switch to mono on their own like the AirPods?
