I have an NX1000 that I found on eBay a few months ago! Got it with the kit lens and a 70-200. Have to say it’s a really good little camera. Have managed to take some fantastic shots with it. Awesome to see someone else appreciating this short lived Samsung range!

I own a NX3000 recent addition actually! Super cheap! Another benefit. I got it because i own a Samsung NX Mini, the NX Mini is a phenomenal camera I'm just struggling to even find adapters for it!

Nx Mini is desirable but for lack of auto adapter. I have the nx30,nx3000,nx300 and nx500. Obviously the nx500 is awesome and one of the best APS-C cameras out there. However, I carry the nx3000 everywhere! It's just portable and cheap so I'm not bothered if it gets dropped or damaged. Actually here to see the nx1000 review...off to buy it now for a back up to the nx3000! The pics from it or perfectly good. I've printed them off at A3 size and the detail is good. The printer said it was actually way better than what people in the business usually ask him to blow up!

I picked one up probably around 7/8 years ago and bought another soon after. It's a great little camera and it's so compact. It's actually my go too and now I managed to fit an old Pentax 50mm lens to it!

My Sony equipment was stolen a few months ago. I had to buy new equipment with little money. I found an NX2000 for 150 USD and I'm a fan from now on. I just bought an NX300 (120 USD) with 16mm and 30mm lenses. I just love the colors in both photo and video. Greetings from Peru.

The 30mm f2 is awesome. The 45mm is better, faster autofocus and f1.8 and makes for great portraits. Don't bother with the 20mm or any of the basic zooms.

I now have 2.5 NX1000s (one needs repair) and have just bought an NX210. I now use an NX1000 with the 16mm lens and a simple wrist strap as my everyday point and shoot camera. It can be used one-handed and I prefer to shoot it in portrait. A matte screen protector and your back to the sun helps if you need to view the screen. I prefer no touchscreen so I don't accidentally change a setting. The processed raws are lovely for a £100 camera.

I had a NX1000 and loved it,like you my only gripe was that thumb wheel esp with my stubby thumbs,but saying that i got some amazing results with it Just bought a NX3000 for £120 with a 16-50mm iFn lens so looking forward to that Good tip about the sd card👍 Cant understand why Samsung dropped their camera range

I have a NX2000, I really wish they kept the physical buttons. Fully touch is a nightmare specially in winter😂. Still pretty great for adapting vintage lenses.

I had one of these and it's a nice camera - however when the NX300 came out I sold it - the NX300 had focus peaking and for me that was important as I had a bag full of old MF lenses. At the prices now I would buy an NX1000 and a 20-50mm zoom because it's such good value.

That’s exactly what this came with and it’s not a bad lens since it covers the range I like to shoot street. I got this set up for £70 in its original box with the flash unit etc and it’s pretty much perfect. Thanks for watching 🖖

I have both Sony and Panasonic (m43 and FF) high end cameras. They are great in so many ways, the Panasonic has great IBIS, Sony has great AF and lot of lenses, but they lack two things compared to the NX (like the NX1 and NX500). First is the colors, there is something special about NX colors, even if I use RAW all the time on my Panasonic and Sony cameras, I never get the same fantastic colors and tones of the NX. And the images seem to have more depth, like if the subject on the photos was "bigger" than when using other cameras.

I tried the NX300, 1000 and the 1" sensor NX mini. I couldn't get along with the JPEGs, there was just something I didn't like about Samsung's greens. I wasn't using Lightroom at the time and my Apple Photo app didn't like Samsung's raw files. Maybe I'll give them another go as I'm back on the LR treadmill and who doesn't like a camera system with a couple of pancake lens options!

@@alfonsobond321 NX300 I’d say. The mini is a bit limited by choice and availability of lenses. To be honest, I much prefer the small micro43 cameras I have that serve the purpose my Samsung experiment was intended for. Even more lens choices and RAW files I can edit with any software.

I second that motion. 3000 is actually my preferred Nx, even though I have the actual better 500. I just find the convenience of the cheaper camera with the pancake lens easier to carry everywhere.

I have both the NX1000 and NX3000 and I have not felt the need to upgrade to a a more expensive brand of camera. I would like however to acquire a better Ed lens for the wright price.

I love my NX200, it's a great camera. The JPEGS have a beautiful look to them, but I agree, they are over processed, especially the noise reduction. I'm awaiting an adapter so that I can put my Pentax lenses onto mine. If you haven't already, I would recommend the Panasonic LX100 (1 or 2). Expensive for what they are and the 1 has major dust issues but it's definitely just favourite camera. The glass on the from is pin sharp and the sensor captures tremendous detail. It is much better than it's got any right to be.

I love my LX100, such a quirky beauty. But yea, it's got dust inside and mechanical problems, and it's difficult to find somebody competent to fix LX100 where I live. So now I'm looking for cheap alternative, at least for now, and stumbled on this video...

Thanks David, I have been looking forward to your Samsung thoughts. I have two NX1000s with the 20-50 and one 16mm pancake - perhaps the price will go up now although I think there are still loads around :⁠-⁠) I also have a NX300M with the 18-55 stabilised lens. Please get in touch if you want to try the 300M. A more advanced camera with focus peaking but the same sensor so essentially the same pictures. Once these cameras worked via WiFi with an app, but that is not available now.

I have two NX500s as well as an NX1, definitely worth it. The NX500 is my all-time favorite camera. Never owned two of the same models at ounce. Now I own 2 NX Minis and two NX500s 🤫... in case one should ever break.

Does anyone know how to share the images via wifi? I own a galaxy s24 ultra and when I try to install the samsung smart camera app it says "your phone is not compatible" so, is there any other app that can be used in 2024? I haven't found how to use NFC, apparently I need the app...

I may be wrong and please correct me if I am, but I seem to recall seeing somewhere that Samsung had stopped support for the WiFi connectivity so it won't work with newer devices which sucks, but isn't too surprising as they abandoned the NX camera system almost a decade ago.

Thank you for your review, very helpful. I own the Nx30, NX300, Nx3000, and the Nx500. Obviously the Nx500 is amazing! It is the 2nd highest rated APS-C camera and takes perfect quality images and 4k video. (The 1st rated APS-C is the D7200, which I also own). Although the 500 is the best quality, the 30 actually feels better if your used to DSLR's. I assume the 1 would be best of both. That said, I use the 3000 the most. I carry it everywhere! I put on a prime lens and it takes up no space. I but it in my bicycle bag and cycle everywhere with it. I came to this review as I wanted a back up for my back up as it where! I just bought the 1000 because of this review. Everything said about it's faults seemed to resonate with me as the 3000 has those same flaws. That said, the image quality is quality and I've printed images at A3 size. I've even been told by the printer, they could blow up bigger as the quality outdoes most of their clients. I think the Samsung NX cameras completely passed me by - I was full on shooting big heavy Nikon DSLRs when Samsung released them so I didn't really look at anything else. I'd be quite happy using something like that, although I do like an EVF where possible. Always fun looking at old new cameras, although I'm still kind of hooked on older stuff that uses film at the moment.

Yeah that’s the same for me. I was all in on Nikon dslrs between 2010 and 2020 so systems like this were lost to me. It’s a capable little camera in terms of image quality, but I expect there are much better NX models that this one

Ah, that seems to be the case with so many relatively recent gadgets - my brother used to buy up early Nokia phones (when they were virtually free) to repurpose the LCD displays for other projects - wouldn't be doing that these days as the price has gone skywards.

I discovered the NX system late last year and bought an NX300 with a 30mm as a poor man's Ricoh GR3x substitute. I got frustrated by the absence of a viewfinder, so I bought an NX to use alongside it. Sadly, the NX300 started glitching and became unusable, so I replaced it with an NX500, which has fantastic image quality and is a joy to use. However, the control dial started playing up. I'd set it to my customary aperture priority, but the camera would act as though it was set to manual. Apparently, this is a common fault with these cameras, and now my NX30 has started glitching. It locks up, and I need to take the batery out to reset it. So, whilst I agree that these are great cameras to use with lovely pancake lenses, I can not recommend them due to unreliability.

Oh absolutely and there are some great systems out there, but the nx1000 definitely isn’t the best on the nx system. I’m curious about the nx1 since that seems to be widely regarded as very good, but the prices of those are pretty high 🖖

I have just recently started getting interested in cameras and my mother lent me a Samsung NX300 which I am using the most because of its size. I enjoy it but I sometime feel like it is a bit slow. However, I do not like the digitalised manual focus and not having a veiwfinder is also a bummer. Otherwise, great camera! At least for my non professional usecase.

If you get the prime 30mm f2 lens, auto focus is better and with the 45mm f1.8 it auto focus is even better again. In actual fact, auto focus is better with those lenses on all of the Nx camera. I own a lot of them. The Nx30 would be ideal for you, has the viewfinder I prefer to also use.

Took some of my favourite pictures with an nx300 adapted with old lenses. When combined with a 50mm f1.8 pancolor it was very impressive indeed. Fantastic jpegs sooc. Maybe a rival to one of those over priced Fuji's?

I bought an NX1 a year ago because it seemed like a very advanced camera for when it came out and perhaps historic because it was the last one from Samsung. The image quality and resolution are still good even today in 2024, but it bothers me extremely not to be able to use the WiFi and Bluetooth functions that the camera has because the software necessary for its use is either not compatible with the new phones or . they can not be downloaded for computers because Samsung's servers no longer work and I can't find where to get them. A shame because the very useful functions it had can no longer be used.

Strange - i have precisely zero interest in this camera, or many others like it, yet i still go ' Yay! - another Flower Power review of some (subjective...) POS that is and always shall be completely irrelevant to my life.' And then i watch it... and i go 'glad i've not got one of those'... and ten minutes of my life has evaporated. LR color conversion is awful, I use the native NX software or Silkypix. But the SOOC colors off the Nx100 are great, subtle, not that awful digital look from Sony. I've owned all NX cameras and IMHO their best are NX10 NX1000 NX30 NX3300 NX500 and Nx1. For portraits I'll use the NX10 or Nx1000. Traveling light & Selfies NX3300 . Video work or shooting events NX1. Jack of all trades Nx30 & Nx500

I recently moved to the NX system, almost by accident. I was selling my Pentax gear because I was getting too old and lazy to carry it about with me. I was selling a 70-200mm and a 17-50mm zoom and invited people to offer me mirrorless camera gear in part exchange. A buyer offered me a Samsung NX camera with a lens if I was willing to drop my prices by 50 euros. I was willing to drop by at least 50 anyway so I grabbed the offer! I later swapped my 18-135 zoom for his other lens and sold him a fourth lens for 100 euros.. Cash received so far: 350 euros. Then I sold my K3, a 15mm and a 35mm lens for another 820 euros. At that point I had changed system and gained 1170 euros, but had become motivated to buy an NX500 or an NX1! I am holidaying in Barcelona soon and decided I also wanted a Fisheye lens. I found a seller in the Netherlands with some NX gear but he wasn't keen to separate the fisheye from the collection. So I bought them all, for 720 euros. Cash in = 1170 euros, cash out = 720 euros, so I am not in the red. Yet... But what gear do I have now? NX500, NX300, 10mm f3.5 fisheye pancake, two 20mm f2.8 pancakes, 30mm F2.0 pancake, 16-50mm zoom, 50-200mm zoom. 2 cameras instead of 1, plus 6 lenses instead of 6, and a much wider range of focal lengths. What difference did it make? About 4 kg out, about 2.2 kg in. That's more manageable! As a result I go out taking photos nearly every day, and if anything I find that I take sharper pictures than before, probably due to less tiredness and camera shake. The speed of use and the colour rendition of the NX range is lovely so I recommend them, but please don't buy any of the system, I want the prices to stay low because I still "need" an NX1 body and at least 5 more lenses... (Edited to include a 35mm lens I forgot I had sold)
