I love all your videos, and you should make them exactly the way you want. But would you accept a suggestion? I think that the stock videos don't fit that well into the videos. They have a completely different vibe than the rest of your videos, and they are so staged and artificial. You are so genuine and straightforward that I find the difference jarring.

I actually really like the Japanese clock design where the numbers themselves move, and the "now" stays still. It feels like a metaphor for living in the present moment, because "now" is all we really have. Thank you for a year full of videos and I'm looking forward to what you come up with in 2025!

It's exciting to think we can share 2025 together. I very much appreciate that you've enumerated 10 super ways to focus and concentrate on getting more positive, to becoming a better person, whatever that means for us individually. The Japanese clock design is a powerful reorientation for a more positive outlook on life. Thank you for that one concept and practice. The other nine are useful and life changing, as well, so look what a super year 2025 is going to be! Thank you for this video, Aki. I so look forward to more in January and into 2025. This is your successful teaching time!😊

I used to do this SO much. Now I rarely do it. I recognise when it’s happening and acknowledge that I’m tapping into generating anxiety, fear, and my hero or saviour leanings! I remind myself that I don’t need to do that in imaginary life. I am my own hero. I wish you well in your endeavour my friend.

Overall good message but some are what I would consider toxic positivity. Feeling sad/disappointed/angry can be healthy. They are emotions, its about knowing how to regulate is important. When you are saying all these positive thigs constantly, you are shoving down your actual feelings about the situation. Accepting that sometimes its okay to feel lonely, sad, angry, its about life's ebb and flow just like past, present and future. When I was in Japan, i found people to be so polite that you never get to learn who they are actually. One day I was waiting to talk to the attended at the subway station and they were speaking with a mom & daughter so I stood a bit further away to give them space. Once he was done, I could see he let out a 'frustrated' sigh. So when I went up, I said "you must be having a hard day" and he was so embarrassed that I saw him express his real emotions, he profusely apologized. I felt so bad for him and then I realized, every day Japanese are bottling up their real emotions and unable to show/be vulnerable. We are human, its completely okay to express and thats what helps us connect.

Couldn't agree with you more. Getting to the root of why we feel the way we do in each moment is a mindful practice but not holding onto to them is the real gem.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Aki. I had a moment of awakening when you quoted Nakamura Tempu. I realized I had been feeding my mind with bad news every day, news about wars, disasters, famines, etc. All that made my thoughts and words very negative, pessimistic, and discouraging. This year I will stay in my own path without the opinions of others including family. My main obstacles in life were always people and family. I am letting go of them. I realize that being with others do not provide peace and happiness. Narcissistic family is worse because you cannot leave them so easily, but I have to accept the fact they do not desire my success, happiness, and peace, which has been the 10 years before 2025. Seeking advise from others who have the same experiences has been helpful to break the cycle. I wish I had the same peace of Samurai Matcha but the path to free oneself from suffering is not easy. Zen buddhism has been my comfort.

Regarding vulnerability or weakness, there is a phrase I picked up years ago from something related to martial arts - "A weakness denied remains weakness. A weakness acknowledged becomes a strength." When you acknowledge your vulnerability, that's actually a kind of strength. There's a blog article out there about how accepting vulnerability with regard to mental health is a lot like some of the training arc tropes from anime.
