September is the best month to go. The winds die down and less people but Santorini and mykonos are the most two expensive islands. When my son went with his wife they stayed out of town it was less cheaper

Hi Gabriel, Santorini is a beautiful location it may be the best of the Greek islands it's definitely the best known of those Islands where most tourists first visit. the one thing I notice about Greece is that at least from the videos you've shown there are no private beaches like you would see in the Caribbean, Mexico, or Hawaii. The prices are reasonable which makes Greece an attractive getaway location.

Beautiful homes, temples, colorful marble statues, fountains, shops, art, wooden & mosaic floors, bedrooms and living rooms with luxurious couches, rugs, beds, chairs & tables The list goes on. If you've never been to Santorini I hope you get the chance to do so. It is even way more spectacular than even Gabriel's wonderful videos can portray. Just be sure to do as Gabriel and get off the beaten path. Hike from Fira/Imeroviglia to Oia. Visit Akrotiri and Ammoudi Bay. Hike to one of Gabirel's fav churches. You will remember this for a long time.

My favorite Greek island... I have been there twice and im planning to do a hat trick.😆 Both times i tryed to go to the Akrotiri ancient city/museum area but it was closed for restoration. I did not remember that there was a roman bath at Ancient Thira. It probably did not operate often because you had to bring water from the farmland below and even in those days, I am sure Santorini did not have a lot of water. Even today they have to import water from elsewhere. Come to think of it, Ancient Thira was not a great place to settle a city because, beside the logistical problem of supplying the city with food and water, if the town ended up under siege, it is just a matter of time before the occupants would die of thirst : it is unthinkable that they could dig a well deep enough to get water. The second part of the video showed my wife's favorite part of the island : GOLD STREET! And if you had continued along for another five minutes, you would have discovered the Museum of Prehistoric Thira, where you could have examined some artifacts from Akrotiri. It is a nice modern museum and worth the visit.

Nice to see other parts of Santorini away from the commercial touristy parts which aren't usually shown and in fact of more interest. Of all the times I've been to the Greek islands, I've always kept away from visiting Santorini because of the hype of the place but seeing this, possibly I'll be visiting there one day.

I have never really wanted to visit Santorini as it looks too touristy for me but just got back from Corfu. I really didn’t like the resorts at all but stayed inland and loved it. Hired a car and visited beaches that could only be got to if you had a car and ate in the villages where the locals eat. Totally different experience. Maybe I would enjoy Santorini if I stayed away from the tourist traps. Thank you for another great video and showing another side of Greece :)

@@GabrielTravelerVideos it’s an island not well discovered by tourists. It has a beautiful Venetian castle ruins on a hill overlooking a port in Myrina. On a clear day you can see Mount Athos even. Furthermore it has a salt lake where pelicans hibernate. it even has a real desert and an ancient theatre dedicated to the God Hephaestus. It has a very strategic location (many Greeks boys do their military service there) and was the point where the ships left for the Dardanelles during the Gallipoli campaign (Moudros bay) The beaches are truly magnificent and it is has one of the top cheeses in the world called Kalataki Limnou..according to tasteatlas….You won’t be disappointed! :-)

Did you visit Akrotiri Archeological Site? If not, you'll have to return to Santorini again. Lol. Epidavros, Mycenae, Tiryns, Delphi & Mystras are great sites to explore if you go to the mainland. Safe travels. 🇬🇷

What put me off Santorini wasn't its over-the-top IG reputation but the terrible air pollution and noise emitted from its vast sea of two-stroke motorbikes. I realized after a few days that I was choking on the filthy air and my ears were under assault. This was in late September a few years ago, so out of the high season. Santorini was a real mess. I changed gears, went to the Greek mainland and had a great time seeing the sights.

December November has to be super cheap.. island crawling in the off months. This island looks like it would have a grocery store.. but the smaller islands are so small seems like they are only outodoor markets?

Most of the islands including the smaller ones will have some sort of regular grocery store. It's very different everywhere on the islands after the end of October.
