Actually a bit of lore, your guess on gluttony being the "hellhounds ring" is pretty spot on, in Dante's inferno the penance in this ring was being eternally eaten alive by Cerberus, I can really see Vizzie taking inspiration from that.

i loved her design. gluttony means over indulging in anything and everything, not just food. and just looking at her tells you that her whole thing is being too much. i also loved that she was such a genuinely nice person and truly just wanted everyone to have the best time

What I also learned is that the song has some meaning behind it. Cotton Candy, every time you bite it, it never feels like you're satisfied with eating it. The "I'm what you want, not what you need" is kinda self explanatory.

Agreed. Like how Loona has perspective she can share with Octavia, I think Bee can show Loona a different way to interpret social situations. I liked how both Tex and Bee didn't force or pressure Loona to engage and more of invite her to engsge. I also like how Bee is able to realize and check herself. Though "a little spicy" might be an understatement at least shes aware that her titan form is intimidating and doesn't fit the vibe shes trying to maintain

I'm sure the only thing that matters is their reputation socially. I mean, with the way Ozzie's reacted to Stolitz was terrible - but Vaggie x Charlie was treated completely normal. Of course with Charlie being above the Seven Deadly Sins, I guess many would be afraid to say a word. But Charlie is kind spirited, everyone knows that. I suppose people are too scared to care or don't care in general. Edit: I also believe people made fun of Stolas as they mentioned he was "sleeping with an imp" and not in a relationship with one. The thing that made it worse is that he's mostly sexually charged, not romantically.

Agreed. The Goetia, like the ancient royal lines of Europe, seem obsessive with having powerful heirs, so maybe the disgrace is coming from having a relationship that can't be exploited for a decently powerful heir. Like they would have succubus mistresses for kids that can be great at manipulation and charisma, as well as automatic access to the human world without the need of grimoires courtesy of Asmodeus, which is extremely useful if Stolas' hit on the environmental advocate is any indication. They see it being more transactional and think Stolas is needlessly going for the bottom of the barrel. Like having access to a Vegas Buffet (all laced with various bacteria and poisons), but choosing to go after the slightly old pizza that fell on the clean floor in a hole in the wall pizza joint. I actually feel like making Bee skinny was a pretty neat design choice. She indulges in everything, yet her body still remains unchanged, like a void that never stops eating. When you think about it, that's really what gluttony is. Consuming and consuming, indulging and indulging, and never being truly satisfied, like how Bee looks actually more skinny than a lot of other demons

And seems fun but looking into it with an open eye gluttony is kinda gross. And i don't know if it's intentional or not, but Beelzebub was called lord of the flies as an insult to his followers (he was worshipped as a bull deity but was compared to the flies buzzing around the rear end of one) and there are two distinct differences between flies and bees (besides bees being related wasps amd ants) is that bees work tirelessly to make their own food, and have four wings. While flies wait for others to drop it or drop dead, and flies have two wings. Bee-lzebub has two wings, and relies on others to help generate her honey. The bee theme might just be a cover for her not actually being one and is actually a fly. Though that might just be me liking the insect aspect of both Beelzebubs a lil too much and trying to find parallels that might not be there.

Those designs aren't bad but it's gotten kinda stale. I absolutely love gluttony's design in helluva boss because you wouldn't immediately think she's gluttony but once you find out she is you realise everything about her design and personality scream gluttony in such a unique way she is genuinely my favourite interpretation of a sin I've ever seen

Theory: Remember how Tex tried to ease Loona's fears by saying "I'm Vortex" in a crazy way.. That was why Bee told the story about her being interested in her sort of brother but not blood related. That was not flattering to her, but I'm sure she was hoping Loona would feel a bit less ashamed about calling her rival hot. She knows Loona is 22 years old and it's more of puppy love than the connection she has with Tex.

It's a common social tactic that if someone embarrasses themself to say or do something embarrassing to help ease the social tension ^^ it is part of what made me like Bee is it felt genuine. She could have mocked Loona, or changed the topic instead she tried to validate and support Loona in her awareness.

I mean how old is Tex? If he’s a lot older then I guess that makes sense. Loona is still fairly young (granted she’s past the standard age of late adolescence which is around 18-20/21) but 22 is still often a time of figuring things out (only difference between 22 and 18-20 is that 18-20 isn’t expected to be an adult). I suppose Bee could just see Loona as really young and doesn’t see her crush on Tex as a threat.

She explicitly says that she loves that Loona doesn’t care about how freaky people think she is. Wish Bee wasn’t so blunt about that just because telling instead of showing makes the scene feel less impactful with little to no interpretation to be made. The show misses the central mysterious factor that Hazbin has with the clock and lacks subtlety that Hazbin has (such as Alastor humming Charlie’s tune). The scene would’ve been better if Bee sent Vortex to get them some drinks, that indicates a liking of Loona’s awkwardness without explicitly stating such which makes the scene more impactful

There’s also the fact Stolas comes from a prolly more…Posh side of things? Seeing as he was arranged to marriage his Ex as a child. So him with an Imp is highly out of character, especially when it’s Blitzø Also Asmodeus runs a club where the butt of the joke is you. Think those restaurants that have “Our waitresses are assholes!” As a selling point. I personally don’t think Stolas with an Imp is seen as bad by them, just highly out of character.

He refers to what Stolas did as, "The spirit of Lust," after all. It's Stolas who takes it that way, and because he's a POV character, that tone is what gets conveyed to the audience.

When I first saw Beelzebub, I thought she was fake but she's actually a very cool person. Quickly became one of my favorite characters on the show. Definitely loved her aesthetics and design. Absolutely loved the relationship between Bee and Tex. I just hope they don't ruin it just because of Loona.

Like, I actually never heard of him (don't really watch Broadway shows often) until helluva boss. So he'll probably be more available then those two. In short, because he's not as "popular" or known as those two. They even got fizzaroli VA back (cause it sounds like his VA in the trailer) . So I actually find if your more of a Broadway actor than a live action (or for VA you voiced A LOT or famous characters), your not as popular or desirable for hired.

There is another thing to point out about Ozzy: While he shines a light on Stolas' affair with Blitzø and his words seem pretty hurtful to us and the denizens of other circles of hell, he revels in the affair and compliments Stolas for this step (again not exactly in line with how we or other circles would see it) It might very well be that Ozzy and the entirety of Lust are atually getting off of this type of thing (both figuratively as well as literally) since the only info we have on Lust are from the restaurant which seems to be more of a meeting place for the denizens of other circles than it is a valid depiction of that circles lifestyle.

I think one of the reasons we got gluttony associated with hellhounds is that in Dante’s Inferno the third circle of hell aka the gluttony ring, was the domain of Cerberus, the three-headed hound. Another interesting thing that I have no idea was intentional is that the domains thing is that it’s made of sticky mud that people get stuck into, the same thing that could happen in honey (heck, Cerberus wasn’t bribed by people in the past with honey cakes).

Wolf have a Very deep mythological link to Gluttony and gennerally eating things theyshould not. Fitting, as any dog owner will tell you. The second most common sentence after "Good Boooy, Good boooy" is "What's in your mouth!"

Vortex is attractive, distinctive, and has probably the healthiest personality weve ever seen in the show, even compared to moxxie, Vortex is the most genuine and grounded person weve ever seen in hell. Add to that, being Verosica's hell hound is itself a status symbol. Hellhounds tend to reflect on who owns them, And being a pop star's hellhound makes him somewhat of a celebrity amongst hellhounds, so I dont think its far fetched.

One of the things I rather like about how Beelzebub was depicted is that she IS definitely feeding off of everyone who is indulging in her party through numerous comments she makes (hence part of her song where she says "Keep making me that mother f**king honey", or her numerous references to how various partygoers "taste"), however she's opting to make that relationship with everyone Symbiotic rather than Parasitic. She legit wants everyone to have a good time, party it up, and indulge themselves beyond the point of excess, but she also is sincere in her desire for everyone to enjoy the experience. What would be kind of interesting to know is if there is any kind of affect this feeding might have on her partygoers. There's not a whole lot of info to work off here so this is purely hypothetical, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of her partygoers may actually suffer some kind of short or long term issues from not only overindulging but also getting spiritually fed on. Now, this would likely be something that Bee can't really help and is just part of her nature as the Sin of Gluttony, and she may even try to throw the biggest parties she can to try and mitigate any harm or damage she may cause through such feeding (spreading it thin and thus minimizing damage), but she IS still a Lord of Hell and one of the Seven Sins, and I think it would be weird if there wasn't a darker aspect to her, even if that darkness is just in her fundamental nature.

I also had this odd feeling that she was darker than she seemed. It's hell, it'd be pretty much impossible to be a 'somebody' if you weren't connected and powerful enough to keep the position. So her constantly feeding on others indulgence sounds like a decent idea. She does seem to be the nicest amongst the demons we've met so far, but that could be just because she's in a good and secure place. Cause we saw her briefly 'lose her cool' and then excuse it away with something like "I had one of my loonie moments" to excuse the sudden aggressive behaviour and revealing her true form. It may also answer why she accepts hellhounds and imps at her party, because nobody else is feeding off them, so she might as well 'exploit them' while also giving them a good party experience.

I was actually really, really excited when I saw Bee's design the first time because I could *immediately* tell it was just- it's Vivzie's STYLE. There's a super fantastic video I watched many years back that talked about her style and the Die Young video and it is super neat to see how far she's come. If you go back and look at DY and pause from time to time - there's a really neat back and forth on 'simplifying' and 'details'. In one shot, the main wolf character has all of her stripes in her stocking, the gold tooth, all of her earrings, every little detail, but in the next with a lot of movement, it gets made more simple. Maybe just three stripes and an earring. It's balanced well enough to save on animation time (and pain!) and hard to notice even on several watches. You can see the progression of that same thing to here! There's more animators, more budget, so the simplification is less, but it does show. If you just kind of pause at random times, you can see how her hair is more or less defined based on what Bee is doing in that shot. The freckles on her face come and go (specially in far shots). How many blobs make up her tummy or hair. It's really incredible and the whole thing just makes me stupidly happy to see. It'd be so easy to make Gluttony 'gross', as many people SEE gluttony as a gross thing to take part in. Having her be this energy ball and constantly needing and giving and bright and bubbly and friendly throws that old image for a turn. I really love it. Also the mention of the different sins reflecting the different casts/rings? Holy bleep. You're spot on.

I think one of the factors that plays into it is that Bee is already seen as the crazy party girl (who the overlords obviously have some issues with considering her line about stealing Belphegors drugs or smth) so when she dates someone who is below her class it gets chocked up to “ah Bee is being crazy again” vs. Asmodeus (or even Stolas) who have a bit of seriousness/properness to them. I’m German we have this word called “narrenfreiheit” which means something akin to “Fool’s freedom”. I think Bee has some of that. I also noticed how isolated Bee is..like at the end of the day this was just a house party with the hell hounds. And it wasn’t even overstuffed or anything. It was crowded SURE but contrast it with Asmodeus’ constantly over-booked public club and yeah. I have yet to see anyone express my headcannon for how they met- Vortex is Verosika's bodyguard, and both Verosika and Bee are performers and party animals! We've seen Verosika travel for shows, maybe she was hired by Bee to perform, or maybe she's just a big name so Bee invited her to a party, or maybe they just crossed paths at some high profile get-together. I imagine Vortex was working when he got to meet Bee when she and Verosika got to talk/interact, and I imagine it was Bee that fell hard. That's my guess anyway!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Beelzebub was getting the hate for her design someone did mention how she was more wolf then bee. Viz responded with that she was the animal trainer basically. During her song she flew through a ring as well even further symbolizing that she is supposed to trian the animals. So it does makes sense that she would be more like chill with Hellhounds or other animal like demons

At first, I was kinda disappointed by it but now I have gotten used to it and appreciate it more. Compared to the other sins, which isn't a lot, Bee is closer and more in touch with her subjects. Even more so than Ozzie, with all his razzle-dazzle, glitz n’ glam. She honestly gives off Dionysus vibes, a deity that attracted those of the lower class, and her hosting skills remind me of how the ancient Greeks threw parties and treated guests. A theory I had was she took a lower class/beastly look to be more approachable for her partygoers and subjects. But Viv’s explanation makes sense, which fits into Hell being similar to a Circus troupe and the Sins being reminiscent of acts and occupations. Lucifer the Ringleader, Mammon the Clown, and now Beelzebub the Beast Tamer.

Beelzebub might actually be feeding off the gluttonous behavior at her party, she even comments near the end of the episode that she can taste the "flavor" of people at her party. my theory is that all of the seven deadly sins "feed on" or gain power from the denizens of their respective rings. maybe they originally created the native species of their rings and their cultures so they could gain more power. this also clears up something from the other series that , looking back, didn't make sense otherwise. why would Lucifer allow the sinners to gain power and become Overlords if he wasn't benefiting from it? what if the arrogance from gaining power on the level of high ranking demons, their pride, makes him stronger.

I like that he brought up Lucifer's circus because in that Bee's role is quite literally "Animal Tamer/Talent". Which also fits with her fox like appearance and rings she flies though in her set but I think more importantly explains her relationship with the hellhounds and imps, as well as why her party is almost exclusively made up of them. Her role in the circus is animal tamer, her job as one of the 7 rulers of hell is to keep the lower classes placated and complicit against the system that's oppressing them. If they are happy and distracted with booze and party's and drugs they have no reason to recognize and unite against what actually causes them harm. Now I do think Bee legitimately cares about them and thinks of them as her people, seen as her dating Tex rather than someone closer to her in class, she as seems to really care about everyone at her party having fun and being safe. The main thing she's doing the whole time is checking on ppl, shes clearly conseened for them, even in her song she references "what you want, not what need" implying she's aware of this dynamic. But yeah those are just my thoughts on this

I'm surprised people are jumping to the conclusion that the sins actually care about this sort of thing, when so far Bee is dating a Hellhound, and Asmodeus is dating an imp from the same background as Blitz. The callout "Are you sleeping with an imp?!" doesn't even come from Asmodeus, he just kind of acknowledges what a scandalous thing that is in society, but in a super 'Atta Boy' sort of way. For all we know, the bird demons and Paimon are connected to Pride in some way, and this plays a role in how much they care about things like status and respectability.

Literally the only problem I could ever find in Bee and Tex as a couple would be his "cowering" when she transformed and was about to fight Loona, as it could be read as Tex not being able to do anything against her due to the huge power imbalance inherent in their respective statuses. However, it just as easily could be interpreted as Tex simply being uncomfortable about his girlfriend and his friend fighting, or even because he seemingly convinced Bee to invite Loona and now she and her father were causing a scene and ruining everyone's night and making passive-aggressive comments to the hostess and ruler of the Ring, which might have got Vortex in hot water with his girlfriend. All in all, perfectly valid reasons as to why he'd be apprehensive during that scene.

If you think about it, the seven princes would only ever be dating their lessers unless they date each other, which is a very small dating pool. The Goetia and general royalty have more options amongst each other, so going for an imp seems much crazier. I feel like for the princes, no matter who they date, it's all beneath them. So maybe they care far less about it for themselves.

Weird stretch here, but Bee strikes me as an heiress/nepo-baby in her behaviors that we've seen. She seems, honestly, nice. But she is also actively involved in things like signing off on hellhound adoption. I get this feeling that she might be a second generation ruler of Gluttony. Like, all of the terrible systems that harm the hellhound population were set up by the previous generation. She was raised around it and finds it normal. So, now that she is the ruler, she throws parties and has fun. She is genuinely kind, but also doesn't understand that the system she is controlling is fucked up, because that's "just how it is."

As an artist who is plus size irl, let me just say that drawing bigger people isn't as easy as you might think. Your brain is constantly trying to correct you by subconsciously reminding you about basic body proportions. Yes, it's nice being represented. I've tried drawing myself with my real body proportions many times, but it just doesn't look right. I'm very secure with who I am, and what I look like, but if I'm going to draw myself, I'm going to give in to my artist brain and draw what looks right.

I really like the “over designed” characters. It’s something you never or hardly ever see in a because how difficult and expensive it is to animate especially in indie and cheaper cartoons. I think it is also Bee's attitude. Asmodeus struck me as a bully so of course he's going to use someone's insecurities to hurt them, where as Bee is a party animal who wants everyone to be as high as she is so if someone did try to call her out on having a hell hound boyfriend it would be a case of 'don't let the door smack you on the way out'. If Blitzo had invited Stolas down to the party in Gluttony Bee would have probably been like 'you two are thing? Wow, how did that happen? Come on I want all the details.' She would have been totally cool with it and made them totally welcome as a couple. Stolas would probably wound up drunk in public for the first time in his life, which would have been utterly hilarious. Who wants to see that? I could so see Bee acting as a very dizzy relationship therapist to these two.

We also see how the publicity negatively effect them directly, Fizz going so far as to throw a trash can with the newspaper about them out of the window so Asmodeus can’t see it.

Given that Bee is the princess of gluttony and based on how quickly she was trying to form a positive bond with loona, I don't think it would be to far of a stretch that Bee wouldn't be against the idea of a polymoris relationship with her, tex and loona.
