You are true. You have immense experience. I am a govt officer but my son opted for mnc. I think his decision was correct. I think CAT exam selection criteria is far better than UPSC pattern as UPSC doesn't test talent and analytical ability etc but those students are hard worker and burn the midnight oil often clears the UPSC exam. Britishers left the country but their pattern of bureaucracy is still being followed.

Never compare an MNC employee with a UPSC aspirant. MNCs just think about money, money, and money. Your son will soon start thinking and talking about money money. and nothing else. A MNC never thinks about the welfare of society and the welfare of every common man. Their CSR program sucks, and there also they try to grab as much money as they can. Those two things are not comparable. they are two different things and made for two different purposes.

For such meagre Jobs youth wastes their 4-5 years achieving nothing. The starting salary at a reputed MNC is more than what IAS earns 10-15 years down the line. Plus after working couple of years you have the Opportunity of go abroad and work in countries that have better Work life balance and pay more than in India. Your children would get better Quality of Life , education , standard of living along with job security for yourself due to strong labour laws. IAS-IPS will always be at the whims and fancies of Politician. A lunatic politician can transfer an IAS to small cities in Nagaland plagued with insurgencies almost destroying his career.

As a young person who started working in a private job, I saw so many people yearning for a "Sarkari job". This was primarily because of constant performance pressure in a performance oriented job which was seemingly absent in a govt job

@@careermining8404 TBH it's not the performance like in private sector. You earn your salary in private sector by making money for your employer and that leads to performance pressure. Government doesn't pressurise to perform in that kind of way, it's just the nature of public service. But now a days, government does overburden employees to get more work out of them. Posts are not filled, other administrative duties (election, government functions, public outreach programs etc) and the work-life balance has also been affected by technology. You're given ₹500 mobile allowance and expected to be available 24X7. 99% of government reporting is being done on whatsapp. It's very common now to get message even at 6 pm or 7 pm asking for a report immediately or by 10 next morning. On top of all that you just can't say no to any duty, after all you're in public service. Private sector easily gets 10-12% rise in white collar jobs and on changing employers one can get 15-30% rise depending on industry average. All government employees get similar 3% annual increase and DA. But DA is released by government after a gap of 2 to 3 years resulting in effective increase of 3% only with DA in arrear which makes it futile (since it's attached with current inflation). With Inflation being more than 6%, government employees actually gets decreasing salaries till next pay commission comes and increase them. So yeah, if you want money, private sector is for you. Government sector isn't what it used to be. The only security is that it is difficult to fire a government employee, not impossible. But it isn't difficult to suspend, transfer or even freeze salaries of government employees. 😅😅

Private is better (especially for talented people) since for the same amount of work and pressure you get more learning, salary and growth in pvt. Govt job is only good for people working at lower post since they are overpaid for the work they do. But people working at officer grade in govt are underpaid. They do not get what they deserve. I feel pity for govt officers.

Sango ji - historically PWD Deptt was one of the most corrupt in my State. They get money to build roads and bridges - but nothing gets built and the Engineers get filthy rich. Some relatives work in the PWD Deptt as Engineer. They have been crying and complaining of the hard work and the fact they they have no say in decision and no power!! Everything (projects, budgets, etc) gets decided from the "top". I think these relatives are having to work for the first time in their lives and avenues of corruption dried out!!

My father is a government doctor in early 50s. We still could not afford a Skoda Slavia and had to settle for a meagre Hyundai Aura. This is not pun, my father’s batchmates who went on in private sector travel in business class and go on vacations abroad, while abroad for us is still a “La la land”, not kidding. PS my mom also earns decently and I was in a government college, my 2 siblings also have less fees cuz my mom being a teacher. And we don’t drink, so money is not consumed there😂

Present sir. Group B officer with non transferable job which is 15kms away from home (Delhi). Consider myself as a 9-5 employee and working solely for that salary, nothing else. Wish i hadn't left private sector, would be earning 3x easily with WFH. Whatever you mentioned I feel is correct....One more example I would cite from banking sector...job profile of assistants, officers has not changed a lot but the qualifications required for this positions have gone up...in simple words posts have been degraded.. Another thing is if today govt bring golden handshake scheme for those who have completed 5 years of service most of them would accept it. Most of the civil service aspirants think that they are moving into the system to change it...but the fact is candidates are selected to keep the system going as it is. In coming days the craze for govt service would fade away. While going into govt service one has to be very clear that it is naukari so you will be treated as naukar irrespective of your qualifications, merit or talent. Thanks for such a nice video..

Government job is power. Politician is powerful but Judiciary is even more power powerful, just Imagine power of a supreme court judge. So everyone should aspire to become a supreme court judge. Most facts were true but I have seen in a recent video of yours about UPSC results 2022. You seem to contradict one statement of yours .In the last video you had said that UPSC changes its syllabus in every 3 to 4 years so don't waste time more than 3 years/repeats and now you are saying in this video that UPSC syllabus is not changing in 10 years and that is why the people who get in UPSC has the credit of an old syllabus, doesn't you contradict yourself Sir ? I am a follower of you and binge watvh your videos..and wish you thanks to throw light on grey areas but I think politician can also be not equal with a meritorious upsc pass bureaucrat coz politician ki tarah satta mien rehne k liye sarkari naukar kisika murder nai karte, religious game nahi khelte ya muddy waters mien nai jate. Politicians k liye padhai nai kuch aur chayiye,shayad dhurtata ya kaminapan. . . Yes entrepreneurs are welcome and we shouldn't discourage them. . . But if only few people in name of entrepreneurship try to capture all markets then that too is not healthy for a healthy economy coz then it will rich being richer and poor being poorer... Jeff bezos k country mien bhi inequal money divide hai.. but yes if indian masses, in considerable number, agar sab successful entrepreneurahip ki aur rukh kar rahe hai... Then we should welcome the new shift in Indian economy.. India now is the cradlebed of many unicorns and yes we all should be happy for it.
