Prakhar Mishra they were sued because there were glitches that made students not able to submit their tests before time ran out, which basically makes their tests void, and it happened because the amount of students that were using the same link at the same time, even though collegeboard was aware of how many people were registered for each ap test, and it continued to happen after the first time. And then when people complained, collegeboard decided they were gonna make them pay to retake it in July, then people complained because collegeboard was at fault so they shouldn’t have to pay, and they decided to make it free, but a lot of people, seniors mostly, needed the ap scores before the start of college to get a waiver for certain credits. It also caused a lot of e,optional distress because it either shut down in the middle of the test, meaning they couldn’t get back in or their tests became useless.
@haneefibrahim38164 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Even though I never experienced any malfunctions or technical issues, I’m still upset about this year’s AP tests. It’s still absurd that they charged full price for just 2 questions. They should have reduced the price. I would have also been happy if they even cancelled the test. Additionally, many students were going through a lot during that time, due to COVID and whatnot, including loss of family members. And yet, they still had to take the test. Of course, they could cancel and ask for full refund, but then they get no college credit!

My lost faith in the education system might have began when an SAT strategy course my mom put me in, offered by the school and them pretty much was more about exploiting the test than knowing any of the material. I know this because the rest of Junior year, senior year, and my 3 years of college have been absolute hell deprived of motivation and interest.
@Math-rs5or2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is why I dislike test prep companies. They teach you to crack the test in a clever way, but not necessarily in the academically beneficial way, so they end up short-changing you in the long run. This is why I’m glad I improved my standardized testing scores the hard way, by actually improving my logical reasoning and content gaps, without the aid of test prep companies.

The vibe I get from this College Board system is: “Pay us money or fail” Which sounds like pay to win tbh. For a game with such amazing lore, revolutionary character variety, amazing graphics, the ability to have a direct impact on the world for everyone no matter who you are, and an alright story, it’s monetized to hell and back, which really kills the experience for me. I wish people who makes mods for this game that try to mitigate that monetization get more attention to be honest.
@amethyst_cat95322 жыл бұрын
De-monetization has been tried a couple times but players who try it usually lose the respect of the greater community and most of the time it breaks the game in one way or another. I've helped run a non-profit before. You're allowed to profit all you want, you just can't distribute the profit amongst the shareholders. What you can do is use the money in next year's budget. As an example, we could budget to give the shareholders bonuses next year which happen to match the profit we made. We're not distributing the profit though, it's just a coincidence that the numbers are the same.

College board offered me a way to earn college credits through a program called CLEP. This program offers courses- with an exam at the end that costs 89$, which decides if you get the credit. While you have access to the curriculum for free, to get the credit you have to spend money (at a fraction of a normal college credit). However, CLEP credits aren't accepted by all colleges. Students who are In high school paying for CLEP exams, and don't know which college they are going to are most susceptible to wasting money. College board relies on students not doing their research.

Hey there! I've been studying to take the SAT this month and your videos have been helpful, you're a really smart guy. I take the test Saturday so I only have a few days left to study. I want to ask you, what are the most important math fundamentals that I need to know going into the test? I'm extremely terrible at math. I've been trying to cram as much as I can back into my mind as I remember almost nothing, but I just don't seem to get better. I've taken 3 practice tests. My best math score is 430, and my worst is 380.

Thanks a lot for the compliments bro! I think knowing how to apply the area of the circle formula and other area forumlas will be helpful and knowing how to simplify expressions with imaginary numbers and other algebra concepts. Grind through as many math problems as possible today, but take it easy on friday

Remember kids, college board makes tens of millions a year in pure profit (nearly a billion a year in net profit) but they can still be designated as Not-For-Profit.

Just took the apush test, it's definitely a monopoly. 100 dollars for that test is outrageous
