Thanks for this, Dr. This is the way I've been eating all my life. And enjoying tasty food from all over the world. It's easy when one knows how to create a protein centric meal. I've been the same weight from the age of 15 to now at 67. I enjoy my carbs whenever I want. It's good to know I've been on the right track all along. So thanks again. So validating 😊

Very well-done presentation and video!! I am totally excited about this research and the tools you are developing. I love nutritional science and the medicine that is the natural answer to our bodies; found in the God-given plethora of plants and animals, unmanipulated. Satiety is the key for the energy we need to thrive.

Now I can see why all the people who made low carb their identity are angry. But keep at it guys. Any intervention that brings in everyone rather than a portion of people is worth the effort.

🎉Hello! I have tried OMAD, various lengths of fasts, Mediterranean, Vegan and now Low Carb. Trying to improve my body composition and having success but hit a plateau at 23% body fat. I have found that when I eat out or I eat processed foods I get hungry again after a few hours. I stumbled upon your approach on Twitter and agree wholeheartedly! Unprocessed protein & fiber filled foods are my go to now. Looking forward to your program.❤

Really interesting video. I found keto quite successful in the short term but too restrictive to maintain and I ended up eating a lot of low carb processed foods. I have definitely experienced a correlation between the quality of the food that I eat and my weight loss (following CICO). The theory around satiety makes a lot of sense and by the look of the tools you have developed easier to follow. I look forward to signing up as soon as you launch!

He should have mentioned the difference between satiety and satiation. When I looked up satiety in the past it always said potatoes are near the top. I love potatoes! When I eat them I fill up fast, but an hour later I am hungry again. Potatoes have high satiation(fill you up fast) but not high satiety(keeps you full longer). Of course this is just how they affect me and someone else may get filled up all day by them.

I’m confused. In Raubenheimers book he says that animals will eat until they get sufficient protein. Spinach has almost none. How can it be 100 if it provides no protein. Will you body continue to want more food until it gets it even if your stomach is full of spinach?

Thank you. Why are essential fatty acids not considered among nutrients? Fat is essential to health not just for energy. Does healthy fat not contribute to satiety? Thanks for your excellent work and consideration.

I find this concept with Satiety very interesting. Protein seems to be a key factor in satiety. But I don't really understand this: The recommended protein intake (by diet doctor/kostdoktorn) is 1.2-2.0 gram/kg body weight per day. But compare with the protein intake for a 1 month old baby: Protein content is approx 1.0g/100 ml in mothers milk. Breast milk intake is 135 mL/kg per day at 1 month. This means the daily protein intake for a 1 month old with an average weight of 4.5 kg is 6.1 gram. This means 6.1/4.5= 1.35gram/kg body weight per day. On average the baby will double it's weight to 9 kg when 8 months old. In other words, weight will be doubled in 7 months. Logically the need for protein should be much bigger for a baby who is growing so fast, compared to an adult who is only maintaining (not a bodybuilder) his/her weight? I have read that the body is also able to recycle a lot of it's proteins (broken down to amino acids) to build new proteins when needed. So, shouldn't the need for new protein from diet for an adult be much smaller than for a growing child? Maybe the satiety from protein is not only from the amino acids it will be broken down into, but more from all the nutrients from the meat which contains the protein (vitamins, minerals, etc.)? Also, how will the kidneys manage to handle a high amount of proteins in the long term? I have read that kidney degratation is quite common in older people on the western diet.

I quit smoking after 48 years and unleashed the inner pig from hell. 2 and a half years of wallowing in and gluttonizing junk. I could see myself but couldn't stop myself. It was a nightmare. I eventually grabbed the pig by the tail and quit all carbs during the day before my evening meal. The cravings ceased immediately.

Exactly correct. What this theory does not address is when people, like me, have addictions to food and do drive by of the fridge constantly. Try as I might to do restricted eating with no between meal “snacks”, I can’t stop or control myself. I don’t eat bad food. I just way over eat calories from proteins.

I tried this method. Lost 16 kg in 10 months without any hunger and without counting calories. It works pretty well. I just disagree on fruit satiety, despite having low protein its quite filling, because of low energy density and low glycemic index plus fiber. Carrots are even more satiating, specially raw,

Not sure how you got a satiety score of 100 for spinach. You have protein listed as 57%, but for 100 grams of spinach google says it has 2.9 grams. Is your protein score based on protein vs. other sources? I watched a video of a man that all he ate was 10lbs of spinach a day. He was rail thin but I can't imagine any satiety even eating 10lbs a day. He probably also passed 20 kidney stone a year.
