Tip for plants, when you boil potatoes or veggies pour the boiled water from veg into a jug and let it cool you can use it for watering plants and it has loads of nutrients for the soil. Thanks for all your videos

Not only are you happy, but look at the happy garden. You've mentioned getting a greenhouse, that means more plants. Perhaps you would find it beneficial to start a mulch area...you will find it is like black gold for your garden.....it will take all the garden debris you tossed and break it down to fertilize and enhance your gardens. The Eveready Bunny doesn't have the ambition you have. Great job. I hope the mint is not in the ground....very invasive...uff da....speaking from a lesson learned. Your gardens are lovely.

Oh Catherine you are sooo funny, I remember a great tip a gardener gave years and years ago but never put it into practice till this year, when you are walking around your garden bring a bucket and a pair of secateurs, dead head and weed as you go it only takes about 10 mins. So no big clean up every month. Then you have all day to enjoy 😊🤗

Hello from Northern California. Been very hot lately here. Love your beautiful tea/coffee cup. You are so funny and a good sort on your humor… sounds like your soul is great with all the worms n such. I need a good sorting in my drawers and closets too, plus had walls in both bedrooms painted and still need to paint the closets. My energy is low and still recovering from and illness but will get there. You are a breath of fresh air. I enjoy your upbeat personality. Garden beds look good now. Always rewarding after it’s done. Enjoy the week ahead. Hugs and love from me to you. Love your kitty. ❤️😃🌹🌹🌹💐😘🙏

Ive just watched this video. You’re doing a great job in your garden. I’d like to share some tips with you though. ( it’s meant to be constructive for you and not offensive ❤️) 1. Mulch. Keep it a few inches back from any tree’s bark to prevent rot happening. 2. Go crazy with farmhouse poop 😀 BUT In General leave it 2 weeks before use This is to let the ammonia in the pee lose it’s potency. 3. Put chicken poop in a container and water it down as a fertiliser. Fabulous stuff. 4. For a cottage garden look its recommended groups of 3 or 5 plants should be used for a natural look. 5. Double dig your garden beds. Best to look up a video or ask at your garden centre. 6. Cut the lavender back hard. It’s going to look sad for a bit but it will grow back. Don’t over water it either It likes it hot and dry. Hope that helps and ‘Jesus himself’ does pop in to inspect your work sometime 😊

It is always such a pleasure to watch your videos! You are just a sweetheart and a doll and it brings joy to me every time I watch anything of yours ☺️❣️❣️ But a few things to let you know one is to not get rid of your lavender but go ahead and cut it back all the way down put some of the manure around it and see if it comes back next year, give it one year 👍 secondly is to add some of your manure to the hydrangeas in the pots and that will give them some good nutrition to help them have what they need to put on blooms and give you the show you want from the flowers 😉❣️❣️ Just a little bit of my many years of knowledge to pass on to you 🤭❣️🥰❣️❣️❣️

The weed you dug out of the front bed, put it in a pot. That way it is there for your bees and not taking over the bed. Also, maybe things are not blooming because they need to be fed? Hello Catherine, how are you and Blondie? Well I hope. Catching up here I missed this one. A Tip :- There's a technique to improve soil every now and again. It's called "Spit digging " back breaking but great for improving soil.f you Google it that would easier to follow than me trying to explain. My late father did it regularly in his veg patch BUT if you want to improve your soil in general around the garden it is worth it. It helps get air into the soil which of course improves plants. Your Foxgloves are coming to an end of the season, hence the yellow leaves. The "season " seems to be early this year.Mine went very leggy and tall to this year, it's like they're clamouring for the light. I've harvested my seeds already, make sure they're very dry before you store them, they are sneaky and hide damp bits. Don't let your nature bit in your front lawn get too established because you'll end up with a lawn of weeds. Watch out for Wild Geraniums or Cranes bill they can spread like wild fire. How do I know, happened to me. You work so hard indoors and out. I'm hoping these tips will help to save you time or at least nudge you in the right direction because Dainty does planning and likes to make sure it's right. I think you are doing brilliantly. Your a lovely inspirational young lady. Many thanks for your wonderful content, always a welcome sight to watch. Take care, keep safe. Lesley-Ann xX

I use Cow and Horse manure. My plants love it. I also buy several bags of Bat guano (poop) each season. Chickens manure is great for those plants that need nitrogen. 5 inches out, rake, and then layer. Cover with dry leaves or straw. It is amazing.

I really like your garden. Bill Bryson said in one of his books that England basically just wants to be a garden. That's so descriptive and probably twice as true for Ireland where you get even more rain. Why don't you make your own organic compost from veggie peels and grass clippings? We've been making our own compost for years. It reduces the amount of stuff that goes into landfill and saves you buying compost. We even put it on our lawn because we have to feed our lawn here in South Africa.

I love looking at your garden. I used to grow all those "old fashioned" flowers like sweetpea and snap dragons, but I live in Australia and because of climate change you never see them any more. Everything is drought tolerant plants. But this year is raining a lot because of La Nina (it's a weather pattern) and I want to plant them! They look so happy! A lot of people put manure on their gardens here. Another way is to make a manure "tea". Sounds gross but you add the manure to a lot of water and when it's dissolved water on the fertilizer. It's good for doing large areas. Enjoy your garden. Your deserve it. 💖

Cup if tea 🍵 and Catherine to relax 😊🤗. So true... Love watching decluttering 😂.. Hate getting started.. But once I have, I don't want to stop😂. Your garden looks lovely 🤗. I just did 4hrs gardening today in 30c and humid😭... Cut my trees and hedges.. Filled 2 organic bins.. Had to stop.. No room for more in the bins. I will finish the rest when the bins have been emptied. My reward was a cold shower and iced coffee 😊. My fennel grows 3 m high... And comes back bigger and stronger every year.. The birds love the seeds in Autumn🐦🤗. We like using the leaves with herbs in cooking. But it is strong, so you don't need much.

@@DaintyDiaries I always have to fit gardening around kids, work and rain.. This year we seem to have torrential rain in Germany or really hot😭.. After yesterday, I am considering doing gardening at night if this heat carries on😁.. It never gets really dark at night in the summer.. So as long as I don't make a noise eg cut the grass.. I shouldn't annoy the neighborhood 🤣🤣. At night at least it feels cooler without the sun on you, even if the temperature doesn't drop much. Have a lovely weekend 🤗.

My stars Dainty! You certainly put your back into whatever task you take on. But now your garden is looking beautiful and a great reward for all your hard work 💪. I hope you had a good long soak in a hot bath 🛀 and an early night 🌙. You certainly deserved it! 💚💚💚💚💚

Your flowerbeds look so fresh and vibrant. Flowers and such are beautiful, but does take some work to maintain. Fruits of your labour is evident. " I aint no Garden Answer" , that is a great garden chanel, is Laura just such a workhorse. I love that yoy watch her videos too. Your home is gorgeous.

Love your cottage, and the cute yard.. You are an inspiration and I want a cottage just like yours.. I'm a pink girl also and love the Victorian Era, though it's hard to find pieces of furnishings in my area, they are so outrageously priced.. Thank you for being you.. keep the videos and great projects coming... love them one and all...

I had a good laugh about Jesus joining you in the potting shed lol! Needed that though as we lost our little 15 year old cat who passed on to cat's heaven a week ago. Your garden is looking lovely, it looks lush and green. In my neck of the woods everything browns off late summer and we're flat out watering🐈🌺 🇳🇿.
