I owe you a beer Baz. Im 58, learnt my trade back when I was 20 but I was caught out by a tiny mistake. Ive had ABS grief with me mums Micra for the last 3 weeks. Its had 2 OSR speed sensors a new reluctor ring and a ABS pump/ ECU sent away for repair (it came back no fault found) Even my local garage where a mechanic who's a mate of mine I did my time with said it was a module problem.- he also fitted one of the sensors. Fast forward 3 weeks and a lot of hair loss later, I watched this video and YOU my friend gave me a light bulb moment! I removed the speed sensor, there was a piece of scale / rust on the back plate where the sensor sits, I cleaned it off, refitted and the fault code has gone as well as the warning light. Interestingly, running live data on that sensor before I'd sussed it out produced a very erratic signal/ speed reading Lesson well and truly learnt! Thanks mate!!!Gary.

It’s actually incredibly how something to small/seemingly insignificant caused your issue . Baz is ‘the bible ‘/first go to with any car issues . So many wasted hours searching /watching irrelevant/wrong method You Tube videos, then you have Baz . Top professional with no hidden agenda.

Just wanted to say Baz, as a twenty something just starting to get into this trade, your videos are fucking brilliant. An annoying side effect of your talent is that everything I now replace is suffixed with “aroonee”. So thanks for that.

Great job again and with all the gadgets, brilliant illustration of the wheel speeds and the subtle differences when going around bends, especially liked the differences in the speeds at the roundabout! I had a Volvo XC90 2016 come in with a load of faults, Parking brake not available, TC fault, abs fault, city safety fault, lane keeping aid faulted and a load more safety features blocked, right at the bottom of the scan was the front right wheel sensor signal low. So I reset the abs fault and went for a spin, it went mental grabbing brakes thinking it was sliding due to the wheel speeds being wrong for the steering angle, and then it faulted again. 90 quid for a new sensor, reset the lot and sent it! Customer was delighted. 6 months later, same faults came back but this time front left abs sensor signal low. Same fix, could have been a bad batch from the start due to the consistency of the timeline, but then again they lasted 7-8 years so I don't know, but once again a horror show of lights on the dash, sorted by 90 quid an a 10 min fix.

Hi Baz and everyone. Looking for some info Vw beetle 2014 cayc engine . 1600cc diesel ⛽️ . Need new injectors ,right when replacing injectors 1 & 2 they share one bolt . So what I need to know is when you put the injectors in do you push them down and then torque them 1 or 2 Nm or leave them up to torque down 1 or 2 Nm . Then do the 270 degrees . I think that’s right .
@bazmeredithАй бұрын
I've always pushed them straight down

As regards part numbers, i enquired at a local ford dealer that has seviced my focus for the last nine years when sourcing an 02 sensor, only to be told that they do not give out part numbers, so bloody unhelpful!
@bazmeredithАй бұрын
Some companies are like that you'd be surprised how many ring up for oe part numbers and then the people just cross reference them to buy after market parts online, I don't blame them tbh.. it's like I get so many emails and messages people wanting torque settings off me, not fair on me paying 200 a month subscription for people to have them for free

Hi Baz, dou you have a link were we could buy the N2 probe unit? Thanks Rafa , Midas Brookvale , Sydney.
Great job well done Baz, with a lot of detailed information regarding replacing these sensors and the snags you can come up against. The Diag tools you are using are amazing, quickly pinpointing where the fault(s) are in the vehicle. 👍😎
