@@Pinakamataas Missus! Stop! you rule! You ran a FULL half Marathon, not "half a marathon". A major achievement, beyond most people's (including me) ability or determination...Unless you dropped out half way through a full marathon, in which case you are just as awesome (literally, scientifically) as a half marathin runner but you didn't get the end of the line cheer and that's crap for you., I've eatched international elites do the very same thing when condtions were wrong. I wish half marathons had a better, cooler name cause it's a great distance. My husband is a runner and he's amazing at that distance (like he comes in top 20 in amateur half marathons) but it holds no prestige so he focuses on marathons. Limits him sooo much, cause I can't agree to his training every year as it creates such (increased) inequality in childcare so he only can do them every 2 years. Half marathon? no bother! He could do 3 a year and we wouldn't fret.

@@rose-ui6hk Couldn't this be considered positive reinforcement since you are giving something (insults) to promote a behavior?
@rose-ui6hk3 жыл бұрын
@@baconfluffy no, reinforcement is rewarding a behavior (with the intent of making the behavior more common or likely in the future). so bowen's "that was good" is positive reinforcement: he's giving something desirable (a sort-of compliment) to reinforce a desirable behavior (using the bike). it could also be considered negative reinforcement since he's withholding an undesirable stimulus (insults) to reinforce a desirable behavior (again, using the bike). the "positive" and "negative" refer to whether you're adding or removing something, so there's positive and negative reinforcement and positive and negative punishment. an example of positive punishment would be at 1:01, where the instructor adds something undesirable (mockery) to decrease the likelihood of a behavior (not using the bike). 1:25 is an example of negative punishment, since they're removing something desirable (attention). sorry that was so wordy haha. TL;DR: *positive* = adding something. *negative* = removing or withholding something. *reinforcement* (i.e. a reward) is intended to increase the likelihood of a behavior. *punishment* is intended to decrease the likelihood of a behavior. *positive reinforcement:* adding something desirable *negative reinforcement:* removing something undesirable *positive punishment:* adding something undesirable *negative punishment:* removing something desirable

Quit contradicting her, Dizolv! Your contradicting her will only work in reverse psychology to make her work that much harder to seek someone who will taunt her into working out, just to prove you wrong! PS--Tiffany, I have a live 1-on-1 personal training at home, service, where I will personally passive-aggressively motivate you to lose weight. But only if you're Vegan and wealthy enough to handle my $2,000 price sticker for this 6 week program, and organized enough to commit to 1 hour a day. It might be too expensive for your lifestyle, though. Are you Vegan and can you follow a calendar schedule, dear? :) And what is your job title?

Yeah peloton or such would never see it like that. As much as it would motivate you and others, it would get a lot of complaints and bad PR for it being "hurtful and harassing". So they would not date risk that

As a college student whose literally watching this for a paper on intro to psychology, this is positive punishment, not negative reinforcement. Reinforcement is removing a negative stimulus. Where as a positive punishment would be adding one.

@@anonymousperson6119 wow ok I'm explaining jokes now, how sad. It's a joke exactly because it's not a thing. What's funny about something that is accurate? Or do you think everything comedians do/say is factual?
@anonymousperson61193 жыл бұрын
@@snaptest4 no you’re making a joke out of something that isn’t one. “Guys let’s totally misuse a term (because negative reinforcement IS a thing, not sure where you were going with that) that only someone who knows about psychology will understand, that’ll be hilarious.” Pretty sure most SNL viewers aren’t psychologists so why would that be their target audience? They just misused the term it’s a common misconception not a joke. Please don’t ever get into comedy writing...whats funny about something that’s accurate? Uh plenty lol whats funny about something blatantly innacurate? Maybe if it was an actual joke...
