I have these arriving this morning from Spain. I was a big fan of the Shift and also wore the speeds. Sadly the speeds killed my knee due to the stability problems. Fingers crossed this will be the perfect shoe for me! Been waiting a long time for these to drop!!

@@FordyRuns interesting shoe! First impression is I love it! Same sole width and similar height to the Shift. The powerun foam seems to be as firm as the shift but I think it needs to be as the cage/wrap or what ever you call it is quite slim. Definitely more stable than the Speed but not quite as stable (for me) as the shift. I think this is totally due to the fact that the pb is so soft. I was really surprised by how bouncy this shoe was at both snails pace and quicker. Very easy to get up to a quick 5k pace! The other thing that surprised was how good the toe off is! I really didn’t miss the speed roll at all. Good amount of room in the forefoot and really comfy. The high arch might annoy some but I didn’t feel it apart from when just walking. I think, on first impression Saucony have created something really decent and fun and have proven you can make a stable superfoam fun shoe! My only gripe is that on steep uphills the shoe is a little too soft and would benefit from a plate.

I require a stable running shoe and I was hoping this would be a game changer but after trying them on and walk around for awhile I realized the arch was going to bite into my arch too much. Great concept but needs less aggressive support around the arch area

I agree. It does polarize the customers that will fit in this shoe. In the Tempus 2 I expect to see a bit less of that pwrrun frame near the foot

I took a leap of faith and bought these online as they’re not available in my country. I badly wanted to love them. They are great for picking up the pace as well as being cushioned. BUT, they make my legs and hips hurt. I’ve no idea why. Could it be the weird firm arch? I don’t know. Also the outsole is slippy in wet conditions. Shorter (up to 10k ) runs and gym sessions in these for me.
@xWiggleDeezRoots Жыл бұрын
Did you continue running them? When I got my first pair of stability shoes I also had pain which was really just muscles I hadn’t previously used for running, due to my pronation issues

I had previously run for ages in Brooks GTS stability shoes. I persevered with the tempus for about 100km but they just didn’t work for me.

I brought the guides recently, and I’ve been surprised at how well they pick up the pace. Not much difference between them and my speeds pace wise. Although it has one weakness, which I expect this shoe also has which is the outsole. I end up sliding around in the wet.

I'm not usually a stability shoe wearer. That being said last year I started running in altras. I know they are not for everyone, but last week I bought the provision 6 and they are blowing me away right now. It does a lot of these same things as in provide a little "guidance". Visually, it looks like your dad's Sunday trainer. They are very much not. Lightweight, responsive, snappy, lively. I've only got 25-ish miles in them, but a little bit of everything, distance and pace wise. My relationship with Altra has been a mixed bag, but Altra, if you're listening...YES!!!

hey there! im interested in getting the provision 6 for my stability needs. I already have the arahi 6 for slower and recovery paces. Im wondering if the provision 6 are good for faster paces of about 5:00 - 5:30min/km paces.
@robertmorano23722 жыл бұрын
@@zulkhaireesulaiman8575 I've never run in the arahi, but have run in the Clifton. The provision 6 is far firmer and snappier than the Clifton. My max effort is more around the 7min/mile pace (which I think is 4.20-ish/km). I am perfectly happy with the provision at this effort for me. It's plenty responsive to keep that pace, and stable and supportive enough to keep your form honest. If you have never run in altras, you want to slowly "work" your way into it. Like one 3-5 mile, slow effort run a week, then 2 runs a week and so on. Let your calves, feet, and Achilles slowly acclimate to the zero drop. All of that being said, I have now used the provision for a little bit of everything distance and pace wise and if I had to pick one shoe to run in (and even race in), the provision would be it. I'm really loving it. Saucony still crushes it with their shoes. I'm sure this one is amazing as well.

In around 2012, Saucony had a pretty rad stability racer but I can't remember the name of it. It was extremely snappy and it was my half marathon PR shoe for several years! Can't remember the name of it though. Anyone remember?

This shoe seems somewhat similar to the Nike Lunarglide, which was around from 2009 to about 2018. It used Nike's Lunar foam, and was classified as moderate stability. Nike got it right with the first few versions, ruined the last few, then discontinued it. But it was a great light stability shoe.

I’ve put 30 miles on mine, one LR (progression from between 8min and 6min/mile) and two daily runs. I also have the speeds, in which I’ve run 500 miles total in two different pairs. The tempus feels like an endorphin speed with 3 main differences. 1. No plate, the toe off is a little less spicy in the tempus than the speed 2. Mid and rearfoot stability is much better in the tempus. The speed feels very wobbly on a slight heel strike when you get tired. This shoe doesn’t. 3. Wider toebox and ball-of-foot fit on the tempus. Much more accomodating and comfortable!

I tried the Tempus today. Rather disappointing. The upper is narrow but high.. Felt like a Hoka. Upper with plastic parts feeling cheap. The front rocker is missing and boy do you want it back like in the Speed.. Much less energy return then the Speed2 or Pro3.. Shoe feels like a very good daily trainer but no WOW factor like in the Speed 2 or 3 etc.. Did not buy them in the end. By the way they are already on sale for $130 \ €130.

@@JonW9999 it's a neutral shoe but its fairly stable compared to other higher stack racing shoes as the carbon plate makes it fairly firm. If you go on the doctor's of running website they rate all shoes they review including neutral ones for stability, which is really helpful for mild overpronators like myself. I'm running in the ride 14 for daily use and the endo pro for racing, both neutral but nice and stable and keeping from overpronating nicely.
