Bought this one year ago and kind of forgot about it, wiped it out today for 16km run and I'm impressed, it's fantastic shoe, especially for uptempo pace. Feel better then speed 3 and this doesn't have plate - which is bonus as way to many shoes have plates this days, they need it or not companies seems to throw plates into everything just to justify higher price. Imo we have way to many plated shoes which possibly weaken our feet, and don't get me wrong plates have a place - but not in every running shoe lol

Ordered these as I have flat feet and have had issues. The medial arch is meant to bring your foot into neutral. It will feel strange at first but probs best to build up your running miles with the shoes allow your feet to adjust to them rather than doing high mileage straight away

My understanding is that if you over pronate then by definition you have flat(ter) feet. So if this shoe is trying to remedy pronation, then it should be designed with people with flat feet in mind.That said, of course I don't know if this logic actually holds true in real life, but it makes sense to me to use a higher arch to artificially induce it in people's overly flat/pronating feet 🧐🤷‍♂️

Sadly, even though I am (or was) a Saucony junkie, I have never run on the pb foam. I will however, yell Altra provision 6 for a light and lively stability shoe that can do just about anything. I'm not a stability shoe runner, but I recently have fallen in love with altras stability system for the days where I want a little help. Especially as I finally say goodbye to this plantar fasciitis. I do still love Saucony though.

Do you think the Altra provision cured your Plantar fasciitis?
@robertmorano2372
@robertmorano2372 Жыл бұрын
@@soupyruns9709 maybe, kind of. They definitely helped me with strengthening my feet. But at the same time, I've been using other pairs of altras in combo (recently) with an old pair of kinvaras and barefoot style shoes casually. In the provisions defense, a shoe by itself is not going to get rid of a pf issue. I still run in them and like them a lot. I rotate them with the escalante racer and have been very happy with them.

@@robertmorano2372 thanks for the info, I’ve been struggling with PF for the past 5 months but was only properly diagnosed with it 2-3 weeks ago by a podiatrist 🤦🏻‍♂️ my Dr was convinced it wasn’t PF even though I was 90% sure it was, he thought it was gout or nerve damage 🙈 but now that I know it’s PF I’ve taken a break from running, hitting the gym, doing plenty of stretching, calves, hamstrings, glutes, quads, hip flexors etc, wearing loose shoes, strengthening my feet all that good stuff and it’s made a significant improvement, I’ve even started back easy running this week, think the wide toe box in the Altra’s is the way to go but would be concerned about changing to a zero drop shoe.

Isnt the supported arch actually exactly what flat feet need, or am i lost in translation? I mean if i had a high arches i wouldnt been looking for a fun stability shoe all the time. The supported arch is actually preventing a flatfooters' ankle from rolling inwards which is intended to prevent overloading of the inner calf muscles. Or did i get that wrong?

I appreciate this video! As the #bigbonedflatfootedrunner trying to qualify for Boston with too many shoes, I think I’ll wait until the second version or for these to go on sale. I don’t hear an immediate need for replacing my Endorphin Pro, Zoom Fly 4, Kayano, Endorphin Shift, or even Carbon X. Maybe when the Prism v1 finally dies. But being flat footed with a (finally) dependable training line up it’s going to be a wait and see for me. I still need to get more miles in my boring shoes like the Guide and the Kayano Lite. Stick a plate in it, widen the midfoot and level out that arch.

Currently run in saucony endorphin speed 2s with custom made orthotics for my super flat feet. I’m excited to try these as I can’t run in a normal stability shoe without my orthotics as the arch support just isn’t high enough so I’m hoping these higher arches will work for me. Great review thanks

Great review and having also watched your guide 15 review, I’m not convinced this is worth the extra money? Especially as I have a low arch, the guide 15 seems like the better option. They seem to be the same weight and the firmer midsole in the guide 15 could also help when picking up the pace… thoughts?

This shoe is for flat feet and that high arch offers the needed support! They did not work for me at all exactly because of this. Put 40 km, was in plenty of pain. Now I have to sell them. The shoes are very stable. Fairly bouncy. Fast. But only for low arch runners. People with high arch will have their mechanics messed up.

Not sure why companies make stability shoes with high arches. Most flat footed runners will look for a stability shoe, but the high arch will cause discomfort and blisters 😔 Also, you would think that Saucony would have fixed their outsoles by now.
