To those who have been part of this journey, thank you so much! My goal was to document everything I saw in Saudi to the best of my ability, to show you what it was like on the ground with limited plans and organization. To show you natural interactions with locals and how I was treated by them. To present a truth that I have not found presented to me living in the West. I definitely misunderstood some things and got some right, but I can look back now on how little I knew about Saudi and now realize how much more I need to learn about this very complex and beautiful culture. It's now almost unbelievable that I was a bit nervous flying in from Istanbul to Riyadh, wondering if I'd be received with suspicion and hostility. But instead, I've left with new friends and an understanding of true hospitality, a gift that only a few countries in the world have at this level. Thank you so much for those who supported me along the way and made this 11-part video series special kzbin.info/aero/PLEyPgwIPkHo5N7q3HMQYIoVTgl8JY-I8X. And thank you Saudis who guided me through your country with open arms and heart. It was an eye-opening adventure that I'll never forget :) I look forward to returning to the Kingdom in the future En Shala! I have to say I'm a bit sad that this series is over but the story will continue, just in other countries. And I'd love for you to continue on this journey with me. THANK YOU again for everything... this Saudi series meant a lot to me and you made it happen! list=PLEyPgwIPkHo5N7q3HMQYIoVTgl8JY-I8X.

I am currently in Riyadh, almost a month now, and I am European. IMHO Peter's vlog series about Saudi Arabia are the most sincere, unbiased and objective presentations of this country so far. I am here because I've opened a daughter company just 2 months ago - so far we've recruited 6 young Saudi employees - smart, open minded, educated in the West, perfect English, all of them had traveled to many countries and had seen all kinds of cultures. Hard working, dedicated and eager to learn new things. Sometimes I wonder how the Western media is so biased, single-sided and focused on the bad things...probably, because scandals bring clicks, views and sell better. Another thing most Westerners do not understand is that Saudi Arabia is changing and opening so drastically fast in the last 2 years, that any faster pace would break the fabric of the society.

Much love to you, man ❤️ You’re video should be on CNN, Fox-news, and other media because we feel very misrepresented in worldwide media. You’re one of the most genuine respected vlogger on KZbin who visited my country. They’re many vloggers who are now invited to Saudi Arabia, and they seem getting some benefits from it to say something nice about the country. However, seeing your channel here, you are really doing what you’re preaching. It’s always about people not politics. People love and respect each other naturally. Of course they’re different cultures that someone may not agree with and that’s okay as long as it’s respected. I feel like many politicians playing their nations across the world. They’re put under fear to justify their actions when it’s all about power and money. Again thank you very much for visiting Saudi Arabia and I hope you comeback soon. 🇸🇦❤️🇺🇸

Thanks for your video series about Saudi. I just found it, and between your trip and now, we have a pandemic that disrupted so many things. However, your videos show many things people don't know and don't believe when they haven't been here. I live in Saudi now for more than 2 years and can only confirm what you have experienced. From all the places I have been to so far globally, this is the most hospitable place, and everybody is really open and kind. More than once, I have been invited for a coffee or dinner by strangers who were just curious from where I come - I haven't experienced that anywhere else to such an extend. And yes, things are changing so quickly - I really look forward to experiencing what happens over the next decade. Thanks to your videos, I now know some more places I have to explore. Travel reports like yours help to overcome stereotypes and connect the world - thanks for that good work!

Minimal crime? are you joking? check out the figure or ask people who lives there for years. 3:18 Glad to hear the visas are easy now. When I traveled for business (2016) I had to have a sponsor and then had to have a person inside the Saudi ministry help me forward the process along. It took a month.

I'm going to Saudi Arabia for the first time this Saturday, for two weeks to visit my parents who have worked there for five years. I think the clothing for women is pretty relaxed now, our mum just told us to wear whatever we want as long as we are covered, no need to wear a hijab. Really looking forward to going, your videos have been very eye-opening.

I love how your coverage was so real. Obviously people could tell you’re a tourist, but the response was also real; the respect was genuine. Let us all agree that Saudis themselves are also new to tourists and foreigners visiting their country. Seeing how the general population is reacting to a “stranger” may not be a complete surprise to me (a local), but it’s STILL extremely heartwarming to see that they act the same towards any other “foreign” stranger. Your vlogs in Saudi are powerful! I can’t imagine how difficult it was for you to wrap your head around what you were encountering; exploring, experiencing and analyzing and attempting to making sense of it all! I’m so glad that you were able to capture what you did during your visit and hope that you still have some more unseen footage waiting for us!

thank you so much for this trip you made here, you truly changed the world to the better with it, by changing perspectives from some. You bascially connected the world a bit more to another, at least those with an open heart. I also think this trip of yours on youtube is highly underrated. much more people have to see this, because Saudi Arabia has beautiful people living there. Sometimes I couldn't even believe it, how warm hearted they are. I mean, I already knew the warm hearted culture in the middle east, even before watching this here, but it proved it again for me. I was anyway in love with the middle east and islam for many years now, but this series was just beautiful! Thanks again!

Wonderful videos! From distant Argentina , I was able to learn more about this interesting country. We are not anti-Arab here (as the US is) but we certainly don't know much about these countries. It's good to learn 💛💚🧡
@PeterSantenello4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Susana! Is the US anti-Arab though? Sure there are racist idiots everywhere but I've known many Arabs in the US who've said they've been well received and have done quite well in the country. Careful with news especially these days, everyone has an agenda, including me! Mine is to show the world in a more open way. I'm glad you're finding Arab countries interesting. The Arab world has something special that can only be felt there.
@micaaaa16864 жыл бұрын
@@PeterSantenello Yes, seen from here, US is definitely anti-Arab, even more since 9/11. I think it also influences Protestantism and its theological vision of Israel, that generates anti-Arabism But hopefully it is as you say only a wrong perception. In Latin America, we have from Spain the Moorish and Arab heritage, which is nostalgically evoked as a golden age Again, I really liked your videos 😊
