Dogs can eat onions. It takes 15 to 30 grams per kg of dogs weight for any blood changes. My Boston Terrier is 10 years old and she eats onions and garlic all the time. When I'm chopping them she goes crazy for them. It's mainly Japanese breed dogs that can't handle them.

Sausage is USUALLY pork, and minced meat, aka ground beef, is always beef. Different animal, so it's not the same thing. Sausage CAN be made from other meat (chicken, turkey, lamb, beef, etc), but it is almost always seasoned. In fact, I wouldn't consider it sausage at all if there were no seasonings in it. That would just be ground pork.

I see you graduated to using a fat in your dough. But almost 50-50, lard and butter, to flour? I have to ask, do you use a recipe? Your dough would be smoother it you sift it, plus you work it to much so it's going to be tough. It's not gravy, it's sausage grease.

Depends on what you're cooking. For most things I don't even put the meat in until the onions are soft. If you want that wonderful carmelized onion flavor in the dish you MUST cook the onions low and slow, MUCH longer than the meat would cook for. If you cooked the meat first it would be WAY overcooked and dried out. I can't think of many dishes at all that the onions would go in after the meat. Maybe if you're pan frying thick boneless chicken breasts. When I cook steak I often sautee onions in the same pan after the meat comes out to recapture all of the meat juices from the cast iron pan. For pretty much everything else the onions are usually one of the first things to go in.

Even if she picked the onions out, she cooked them with the sausage, which means the sausage was just as bad for the dog as straight onions, so yes, she DID feed the dog onions. I really hope the dog is ok. Anything cooked with onions cannot be given to a dog, even if the onions are removed. The onion juice will contaminate the rest of the dish, and it will poison the dog.
