I've watched most of your reviews from the beginning and you've just continued to get better at capturing the essence of each vehicle. I leave your videos with a strong sense of what a vehicle is and isn't, why it exists, and what makes it special (if it is indeed special). Every time I see one of these cars/trucks/CUVs on the road, it feels like the end of a narrative arc you've started with your review, and much of it comes flooding back. I value different things in automobiles now than I used to because of your work. Mostly though, I come for the latent homoeroticism. And the dildo jokes.

i'm going to have to second this - your photography and shot choice is also so well done. The slow pans, the cuts (without overdoing it) excellent. My only criticism, as a viewer and fan is the musicality, sometimes things come out of left field. I could take it or leave it, but overall tend to like the more atmospheric scores you use vs the really vibrant/energetic tracks. Great stuff, I legit actively await your next vids.

This video was definitely helpful. I have this on my radar i'm so in love with this cuv. Think i'm gonna see what the 2021 model will bring. Hopefully usb connectivity for the rear and little less cladding. Everything else as far as i'm concerned is good. Was torn between the Kia Seltos and the CX 30. I've been binge watching the videos and still leaning towards the Mazda. What impresses me so is that everyone says how quiet the cabin ride is and that is awesome to me. I have an older Kia and they are definitely not quiet nor has a good ride. Thanks for a candid video

This was an awesome review. I am interested in this cuv and have watched other channels review this car ( redline, and your boys the straight pipes) and they have blown this car off. Like if you don’t like it still give some effort and give a good review. But I guess you know what your getting into when you watch. I like how you review for the everyday guy. Like the child seat reference and fitting that huge suitcase in the back is what people want to know about when they select a car, along with mechanical changes and what trim level you should get to avoid certain features. Awesome video again and please keep doing what you do.

After having test drove one this is the best review I've seen of this car. The hight is great if you like exploring and taking back roads and don't know what's coming up or suddenly bumping up off the road up a mud bank to jump out and take a photograph.

I recently leased a 2019 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD, and am really enjoying it. This CX-30 definitely appeals to me as the CX-3 was too small and the 3 hatch did feel a bit cramped and dark inside. I think it looks great on the screen, body cladding and all, but will reserve judgement til I see it in person. Great video! PS I did consider ground clearance on my CX-5, but that's only because I have a steep driveway into the garage ;)

In an era full of fashion victims and nonsense influencers, your reviews revive the good old fashioned auto-journalism i grew up with during the 90's. Thanks for sharing your love for automobiles, giving us every single detail for the products you review (i haven't seen any other reviewer talking about issues with the cylinder deactivation mechanisms some manufacturers have) and speaking out your subjective opinion in the most concise and objective way possible. I'm eagerly waiting for your next review, just like i was waiting the next issue of my favourite magazine when in was a teenager. Thanks

So I got a 2019 Mazda3, and I actually have to complain about road noise. I have had several people notice road noise through the integrated phone system. It varies most with road conditions, but it has gotten noticed by others. I don't notice it because I jumped into it from an 03 chrysler product, so road noise was the norm (especially when I put in coilovers). I love the car itself, but some of the systems are unrefined. Cruise abruptly and over aggressively changes speed when a vehicle enters your following distance. It may see the car ahead of you before it enters the following distance, but it makes no change to speed until you cross that line, then it slams the brakes and drops you 5 below whatever they were going to build the distance again. No hint of casually matching the speed as you get closer. next Pretty sure it's going to get fixed, but my fuel economy says 11mpg. I have gotten 38 after a day of driving, there is no way it only gets 11mpg, apparently there is a bug that stops logging economy, but keeps reading miles, so the first 1200 miles of economy gets stretched over all the miles you drive. Resetting the trip only temporarily solves the problem. I do have the AWD option, and after the first big michigan snow, It was insane. The level of control and stability is amazing. Yes I was able to gas it when accelerating from a stop sharp turn and get the back end to slide out, but then it slowly brought me right back in line and kept the car straight. It lets you have the fun, but with the grace of a pro saves you from being too stupid. I love the car and highly recommend it to anyone, but given my technical automotive background I see where there could be improvements made, some very simple, others less so. Would I trade it in if they came out with a turbo engine option... I'd have to seriously consider it. While the acceleration isn't slow, It isn't enough to be snappy. It can move out of it's own way, but certain motions just take longer than i'd like. Such as highway passing I'd love to go and pass really quick with lots of power, and find myself winding it out more than i'd like. I plan to keep this car for a while and don't like to take it over 4500rpm, and while it just doesnt make any more power past that, It doesn't make quite enough. I'd like to see just top end power improve a little and maybe a small bump to 200hp. Turbo could solve that. I'd be fine with the same 2.5T from the mazda6, but lower boost to get it to maybe 200-215hp. Also what is up with the lane keep? I come within 10 feet of the right line and it beeps and buzzes and turns the wheel, but I have to basically cross the line on the left side before it will even chime once.

Cars like this are a study of compromise. To keep the car at 22k, for a smaller manufacturer that does not get the economies of scale of a toyota or gm, you have to cut costs in places to be competitive. So for everyone who wants porsche performance, audi interior quality and bmw dynamics at a price that is competitive is not realistic. So to me, this is a great car. I don't care about technical specs especially if you compare it to real life feel. So if a car with a torsion bar suspension gives me a similar ride to a double wishbone setup, I'm not going to complain. I'd rather have a reliable natural aspirated engine over a zoom zoom turbo that may cause problem down the line. I would gladly live with unpainted body panels if I can get a better interior, as I spend 95% of my time INSIDE THE car, not LOOKING AT THE car. I'd rather have more trunk space than a fancy exterior. I'd rather have comfortable seats (since I spend hours and hours per week in a car) vs highly bolstered performance seats. So you guys who complain that this isn't a Mazdaspeed cx-30, this car, i guess, was never made for you. Car companies like mazda, who are less than half the size of competitors like Honda, and toyota and don't have the deep pockets of a massive corporation behind it like subaru, Mazda has to make critical choices that need to make it money in volume. That means making practical choices over passionate ones. I personally like the direction they are going, giving more value in intangible benefits such as quality of materials, sublime interior and external design, good noise and vibration supression.
