I´m for deleting the US bumpers on this project. They look expecially ridiculous on small Euro cars - like for example on the MG B or this.

124's were head gasket touchy but nowhere near as bad as the 128's! The 128 had retorquing done after initial startup and before it was loaded onto the ship. The dealer was instructed to do so immediately upon arrival. The customer was required to retorque at 500, 1500, 3000 and every 3000 miles from then on. Thats a bunch of retorquing!

I owned a 1972, USA model, picked up at the factory in Turin. It was a great car until it rusted out pretty dramatically in many panels and most of the brake lines in the late 70s. I donated it to the HS auto shop, it was rebuilt and seen around town for years. About the bumpers: Mine had normal attractive small bumpers -- I would ditch the giant bumpers completely on this one. BTW, I had the chance to visit the old factory last year on a trip to Italy. It is now a giant shopping mall including the hotel we stayed at. I did not know it was the same building until we saw the display of how the factory was set up: Car manufacture would start on the ground floor, travel down the very long first floor, then second floor, then third floor, and finished cars were tested on the test track on the roof. Mine came complete with cheap steel already rusting and one or two wheel bearings with no grease, and several ground wires not connected for various lights. But it was a blast. I am very much looking forward to this set of videos.

Those energy absorbing bumpers were almost 15mph bumpers. I would leave them. I owned 7 Fiat 124s in my past and I liked those bumpers. If some ass in a parking lot hit your bumper most times there would be no damage to my cars. I love the idea of the turbo since the bottom end of engine was a 5 main bearing and the journals were as big as some small V8 engines. The brakes will be a problem since the calipers would corrode and make the piston stick often. Had it happen all the time. If new calipers are available just replace all 4 along with the master cylinder. Don't forget about the rear brake compensator on the rear axle. I was an odd ball I suppose, I loved my Fiat 124s.

In the late 70's I had a '69 Fiat Spyder. I had it repainted and it was best without the bumper of course. Ralph Nader had not ruined that year so the bumpers were still small chrome; no rubber. But till looked good without them. No pollution junk on it so the 1438cc motor still pushed it. 6800 redline was cool and 5 speeds. A lot of fun but work to keep running.

You need a pointer stick. The camera is changing focus often whenever your hand is in frame. Other things you can do: 1. Be in-frame. Sit the camera on something to stand still and just be in the frame. 2. Powerpoint presentation. A.k.a. slideshow. 3. Camera be further away. If you like the hand gesturing and pointing as your niche habit and style, then camera needs to be further away.

Roll bar (to stiffen the body & "frame") 4. Oriental rug (cheap) for the interior.. 5. Independent suspension in the rear, modern rack & pinion with performance suspension.... 6. Fiberglass racing bumpers (Mrs Wizards sales should cover it... 😅 )

DMC Crimpers.... There I was, in the US Air Navy working Aircraft Electronics and the 'Go To' for trouble shooting complex out of spec systems issues related to connector and wire repair. My first aircraft, the A7 Corsair II, had a DMC Kit of 7 total tool cases with one case alone holding over 2,000 line items, both durable and consumable tooling, and a total of over 12,000 individual parts that you HAD to account for every time you checked it out of the Tool Room, once you got the side of the Aircraft to work on it, when QA/CDI inspection was complete and again when you turned it in to the Tool Room. My last few years, I was the Manager for the Tool Room of a Composite Squadron that supported a total of 5 different platforms, SH-60s, MH-60s (yeah, totally different DMC kit, whole aircraft used smaller wiring than the older SH-60 did), P-3 Orion, S-3 Viking and C-130 Hercules, with duplicate kits for the P-3 and S-3 aircraft for a total of 7 DMC Kits that contained from 5 to 10 DMC Cases, plus 2 additional DMC Accessory Kits one for EMI Metal Shielding and one for a new Armor Coaxial Cable in the MH-60S Knight Hawk. I know DMC Crimpers..... I don't know if the company is still located next door to Universal Studios Nickelodeon Studios on I-4 but it used to be right there. Wait to do the Nick Studio Tour and right across the fence was DMC Company.

Ok, going out on a limb here…. I’m no communications major, but I did receive some professional training on delivering presentations… and I can say, I believe you want to reduce your use of “I’m not sure” and “stuff like that” You earn more listener respect when you have exerted the effort to “be sure” and “to list the items or directions you’re taking us … with detail”. Communicating with this extra effort on your part gives the viewer more concrete information and it allows the brain (the way they work) to feel more connected to you and your project and processes because thats what science has discovered that our brains like to do. Besides that you seem to be well launched and you might have a knack for this and Wizard has grown his gig mightily after a launch from Hoovie. Here’s hoping you’ll kick ass too. 🍻

Ideally, you could pull the bumper closer to the body on the front and sides. As it is, it is pretty ugly, sticks out away from the car. A little body work under the front air intake will be needed, once the bumpers are removed (it's pretty well hidden now, by the bumper). But are we getting agead of ourselves worrying about the aesthetics of the car? Seems like maybe safety and mechamical should come first. Then, if it works as pkanned, make it orettier.

If you are going down the turbo route much better to just get a second hand 500 abarth 1.4 turbo; or do what fiat did with the "new" fiat 124 rally car where they used an alfa 1750 ali turbo engine sourced from alfa and used in the euro giulietta and also 4c cars which gives 230hp stock; however you already have the lampredi twin cam so if you wish to keep the engine then tune it to rally spec of the 1970s which made 215hp without turbo
