@WeaverOfStars8 ай бұрын
@@standylixgames7757 I legitimately think that game would still be alive and well today if they didn't try to chase the extremely narrow niche of 40 man raids (and battlegrounds) with really hard content. If the game had more casual dungeons, more lore related questlines, more exploration, more unlockable housing items and cosmetics, and just more everything for anyone that couldn't pull up a 40 man squad I think it would of did fine. They tried to chase an audience that you could only find in WoW. That would never of worked as most bigtime WoW players won't give that game up. Also, having raids being 40 man was never even remotely feasible, that only kinda worked in Vanilla WoW because everyone sucked back then. Classic WoW revealed that 40 mans were more of a snoozefest and moreso a nightmare to get 40 people together than anything else.
@Mashangi7 ай бұрын
@@WeaverOfStars 100% agreed. The devs went in with the mindset there was this silent but huge fanbase crying out for hardcore content that WoW wasn't delivering. They made such an amazing rich world but all they cared about was HARDCORE CONTENT!!!!. Their little cinematics leading up to the release were some of the bet clips in gaming imo. If they had cared about all the other more casual aspects that people loved the game could have thrived for years.
@PhinixRoMАй бұрын
I still remember doing the first Dungeon, it was hard for being the first. But somehow everyone in my group (completely random) did not gave up until we finished it. 40 man raids, we joked about that having no disconnect during the fight is already the first unbeatable Boss, it really was a nightmare. Also the first Boss of the raid was really complicated, one of the hardest i would say. I mean i did not manage to kill him as a 40ppl version, but the 20man version was in my opinion one of the harder Bosses in the raid. I do see a lot of these died MMO´s videos and ALWAYS Wildstar is on the top comments that players miss this game. Someone needs to buy this and bring it back, graphics would still be looking fine today.
@overlordmae90908 ай бұрын
Wildstar was one of the best MMO's but there were problems surrounding it that made it die - hackers destroyed the economy (as they basically had infinite money hack), endgame progression was over bungled destroying the late game players interest, PvP was ok but with issues that never got addressed(or even made worse by overbalancing) and on top of that Wow expansions struck at crucial times pulling away population and more... but i only remember those off top of my head. Anyway it was great game brought down by mismanagement and fixable issues.

I really, really miss Wildstar. In terms of all the many MMOs I've played, it was probably my 2nd favourite to this day (behind FFXIV). I did PvE, PvP, housing (best player housing I've seen in an MMO) and also RP; a lot of all of them. Back around launch, I was well-known and had friends on the PvP servers in my cluster, as I PvPed so much and basically nobody else on the RP server did. Saw the same familiar faces, and with my server tag it was easy for them to recognise me. I hate how it got gutted and then shut down. Thanks, NCSoft...

Presumably to clear the way for TOR, which has been gasping its last breath for a while.

Yes I remember playing pirates online as a kid, It did have some cool concepts, no MMOs had naval combat and being able to raid other ships with the ropes and have multiple people operating cannons and the like was pretty cool. But as I recall the main quest was completely bugged and I was unable to progress it for over a month, Like they just didn't care about it at all. Its a shame I missed out on matrix online, I wasn't into the franchise at that point and the attempted recreation of it is completly barebones, No intentions of even finishing it and its just people trying to dance at the night clubs. Crowfall was a rough one for me... it was innovative, had potential, and they did make some good moves with it. However, changing direction somewhat mid development, not providing certain "promised" features, and lack of foresight killed it (e.g. not adjusting for zerg/mega alliances before release, as a prime example). I do hope that whoever owns it now will remedy those problems and get it back out, because there were many things to like about that game.
@Lexipumpkin7838 ай бұрын
Crowfall had so many not friendly systems in it that held it back, Example if you made a mistake in your build and wanted to change it? You basically had to re-level all over again, while yes this did take a few days to do to hit max lvl again, no one wants to re level over and over and over again. Lack of cosmetics and self identity. you basically looked the same as the dude next to you, there really wasn't any diverse outfits, gear, etc to make you stand more out, Which hurt the game a lot in a genre where people like to go nuts for cosmetics. rewards, Pvp basically had almost no rewards, no rank systems nothing going for it tbh outside of GRIND your character and PVP that's it.

SWG never "died". It was shut down to be replaced by SWTOR. As bad as the Pre-CU had an effect on the game, it absolutely wasn't dead. Even with the Pre-CU or NGE changes. Neither were bad enough to destroy the game. Hell, it's not even dead today. SWG Legends is still going pretty strong. To THIS day NO game has surpassed it's crafting, housing, social aspect, etc. None. Not one. Not even CLOSE. A galaxy away from even touching it.
