It just bums me out that there are actually people out there that are upset that someone spent his life perfecting a craft and now wants to profit from their experience. That’s just business. No one should judge someone for learning a skill and profiting from it. Keep doing what your doing Don...I am very grateful there are people like you that help people like me. Thank you!!!

1 old man to another, I appreciate what you are doing I like your story tried and true I have built models as a young fella around 8 never got into painting because I couldn't by it. I was in my wood shop a few weeks ago and I noticed a couple of models I had from years ago and I have acquired an airbrush setup and thought why not learn to do it better so thank you for doing what you are doing I think its great 😊

I found out about this channel via Dr. Cranky - I can tell I'm REALLY going to enjoy this! I'm so tired of some of the drama that sprouts up. Your sentiments on sharing with the community are spot-on. There's nothing wrong with getting paid, but the community must share so everyone benefits. It's like that in all industries.

Donn, had seen a few of your videos ,so I restarted FB, just for models. Sadley I gave up on FB. Flooded with to much that I don't care about. So I decided to start at the beginning of your channel and watch them. You and others for modeling will do me just fine. I am not doing this for shows like you. I am on disability and need a hobby . So I figured cars mainly, but maybe some planes, military vehicles ect. Thanks for your time in making these videos. And I agree with you, no need for garbage on this channel. Mike

Donn one more question brother. Before I even start my idea to my model i have this silly notion of a paint mixture I would like to try. It’s white pearlescent with sublime green on white primer body. Is this an idea I need to keep in my head not do it? Or do I try it? I have searched all over the web to get an idea of what the outcome would be but I have found nothing. What’s your opinion buddy I need some advice

I am enjoying and benefitting from your channel. I'm 59 and preparing to get back into a hobby that brought me much joy when I was young. Negativity kills me. I am a decent musician and a gearhead. You would think that common interests would foster an environment of community and support. Guitar forums are viscious. It's the kids that pretend to have gear that they don't have criticizing others for their choices. It's people telling you your performance sucks when they have zero content on their own channels. It was hard at first and took time to understand that I am not the comment police. I have been challenged to a fistfight for not liking some guy from Steely Dan's pink guitar. When we have the opportunity to learn from those with knowledge and experience, rejecting that opportunity is just plain stupid. I appreciate what you do. Rant over. Peace. New subscriber.

Mike Wilkerson Mike , the only suggestion that I have is to use Tamiya tape and bare metal foil for your masking . These two products provide the razor thin lines that are required for a realistic appearance . Light mist coats are a requirement ....!

Thanks Donnie. I ran into your page while looking for information on how to paint model cars. Have a model that is a cross between a car and an airplane but looks so much more like a car that I thought it would be better to learn to properly paint a car model. I have only done AFV, mecha and some fantasy figures so far. It might be a one shot deal for me so I didn't want to screw it up. I plan on buying your DVDs since a guy on the page I found highly recommended them. I saw your into video and think it's shame you lost quite a bit ot revenue due to piracy but glad you have YT to share your knowledge. Those models look amazing. Hard to beleive they're plastic, they look like die cast or better! Good luck with the channel. Plan on subscribing and your comments were absolutely true: I easily spend a few hundred every couple of months on models alone, why not spend $60 for our DVDs plus subscribe to your channel to make sure I don't mess it up and end up throwing it away?
