Era il 1981. Avevo appena compiuto 13 anni. Ascoltavo un radio che trasmetteva non solo musica di quegli anni (new wave e synt British invasion, che non mi piaceva) ma anche rock anni 60-70. Alle prime note del Carillon ne rimasi conquistato e per anni ascoltai tanta ma tanta musica progressive coi Genesis sempre nel cuore. In modo diverso oggi mi hai fatto provare le stesse emozioni . Magnificent, just magnificent - when reduced to a solo piano score, it sounds like some long-lost work by Maurice Ravel. Guitar lines, backing vocals, and counter melodies worked in masterfully, and never sound clumsily conceived or forced. Performance flawless also. Excellent!

Le finale est épique 😮. Merci à Massimo d'avoir repris ces morceaux des 70 qui sont des véritables bijoux, de l'époque où les gens faisaient de la vraie musique avec des vrais instruments. ​@@KingCrimson82 I think that's a stretch to say he wrote nearly every note of it. The original chord progression is all Anthony, yes, and it was pretty much unchanged on the final version even though the arrangement was different. The guitar solo section was written by Steve, and the keyboards were of course Tony but they clearly take cues from the original guitar work, and I believe Peter wrote the lyrics but I could be wrong about that part. The final product was a highly collaborative effort, but Phillips deserves a writing credit for sure.

Quando i Genesis (le vendite!) dicevano che in Italia li apprezzavano più che in patria... e me sa che avevano ragione! Ho provato a suonare Musical Box, ma mi mancava la tecnica per farla così, ora mi manca proprio il piano, in tutti i sensi!, ma vedere gente che si sbatte e si diverte per fare la loro musica mi riempie di gioia. (tra 7:18 e 7:19 c'è una nota di troppo, anche dopo, ma è perfetto così! Live, come viene viene - anche loro, agli inizi, toppavano... ed ero a Roma nel 2007 e hanno cannato Firth of fifth!). Fantastico! Non so perché YT abbia ci abbia messo 9 anni a suggerirmi questo video. Io mai cercherei "Musical box piano solo", spero nessuno sano di mente lo farebbe... BRAVO e grazie. 😍😍😍

WOW!!!! Beautiful. First time listening to this. You capture drums, guitar, keyboard and vocal and somehow get it all out with two hands, you capture rhythm and pad and emotion and what I love the most is that the most beautiful riffs from every member of the band, the ones that I always focus on when I listen to the song, are all the ones that you select and play, somehow, with just 10 fingers. As the song was approaching the end I was predicting there's no way you could capture what the Taurus pedals do but you did it. I think your Yamaha is perfect for this song, it really brings out the best. THANK YOU.

Christobel Carloff "The Musical Box"is already written as a classical composition. The intro segues in2 a movement,etc.and could be referred to as a "Suite". The only factor that makes it unorthodox,is that it is written 4a quintet of "rock instrumentation ".✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🇨🇦
