What really pissed me off about Redo was that it CLEARLY wants to just be a hentai, but without going so far over the line that it gets the same sort of publication restrictions as a hentai. Those scenes are shown because the writer wants you to suffer with the characters to better relate to them and to be immersed in the world, rather than just hearing about it. For example it doesn't feel as personal to hear about the village that was just raided by orcs a week ago, than it is to see it happening to a character you know and whose journey you are invested in.

Honestly my 2 biggest problem this anime are: 1. When people say he was "justified" to do what he did because he was abused and he hurts evil people: Being abused does not excuse abusive behaviour even if it is done to bad people. Fans of this show often say "that's like telling a bullied kid he can't fight back" but what the protagonist does is more like the bullied kid shooting up a school. 2. I don't like how the anime treated women's sexual assult. Like Protag-kun's whole sad backstory is that he was raped and tortured, but when he rapes women that's okay. Not to mention how "women getting raped for various reasons" is a pretty common trope in fiction, but the same it not true to men. Like there aren't any movies about a guy getting raped and his girlfriend taking revenge on the rapist. Also, this is a personal thing, but I just can't relate to wanting to inflict the same pain you had to go through on others, even if they are not good people. Like I, personally, just wouldn't want people to suffer the way I did even if I hate them.

The initial plot had so much fucking potential. But Scamboli says it makes no sense, so hurr durr it makes no sense. *Edit 2:* The PLEH meme is from this manga, very important *Edit:* Rationale for him staying for 6 more months is MC knew his party was after the philosopher's stone (deep in demon territory) and couldn't get it alone, so he used them. There is a distinction from healing, the story calls it "absorption heal" and "corrupt heal," and the MC makes of point of saying "it's not just healing." Of course his powers looked like an asspull at the start, it was a flashback to his OP past life. He starts over at level one and has to absorb powers for six months while getting creped just to be strong enough to escape. *Edit 3:* The skills he steals have their normal names, like "Recovery, Holy Blade, Battle Sense, Alchemy, Blink, Tranquility." In the first fight, he says _heal_ when he heals himself and steals from that demon girl, not when he's blinking around etc. Lots of judgements being made just a few episodes in, smh. Manga is good

this . very true when I read the manga last last year. I honestly think this was a good formula for a great manga.. /anime now. but the latter chapters are just pure awful garbage. what makes me think an anime is great is because of the unpredictability that it has. and Honestly if an anime that has bunch of s3x and such and is very predictable is just downright hentai. He has soo many choices (by I mean the author) to re direct the protagonist to a path that would make the anime interesting and less edgy. Then I realized. The author just wants to enact her perverse nature in the anime. when the mc could literally become "Anything" he can get the class of anything. and experience. which is hilarious since HEALERS and HEROES existed WAAAY before in this anime. I've for some darn reason (probably too much time when I was a neet) read about 7 volumes of novel. Honestly, the *ape part aside, the series is simply dumb in most aspects. 1) There are too many one-dimensionally evil people. 2) Healing magic can do too much (I hate when stories do that, defeats the whole purpose of using their talents creatively to solve seemingly unrelated problems). 3) Even that "harem" MC has is boring to such a degree that I completely forgot one of the main girls in the series, despite there being maybe 4 of them total (yet I can name basically all girls from girl-bloated series like High School DXD, Survival in Another World with My Mistress (except individual Harpy names) and even In Another World With My Smartphone). 4) MC himself is dumb AF (even Superman's disguise makes more sense tbh). 5) At some point MC notices he starts to mellow out a bit but all he has to do is to just decide that he needs to be edgy again and he's edgy again. Finally, at some point you might start to actually feel sorry for MC's girl companions, since most of them get fleshed out a lot more than MC and it's completely fine to grow to like them and care for them as characters, yet they are stuck with a protagonist somehow worse than those MCs from series like anime adaptation of Isekai Smartphone (LN version MC is actually likeable and has individuality).

Homcomru I agree with you, the show isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. It’s a show about bad people doing terrible things until they fall victim to another bad person, one that they created. Freya immediately writes Keyaru off after he uses his healing once on someone who’s been injured hundreds of times and currently has a very serious injury. Instead of trying to talk to him, to convince him to push through the pain and help she decides to drug and abuse him. She’s arguably the most “good” person Keyaru exacts revenge on but she’s still a horrible person. Personally, I’m interested in seeing what Keyaru will do once he’s accomplished his goals, he says that he wants to live a happy life but I strongly doubt that. There’s some genuinely interesting things in the series, like how Keyaru’s Healing is used.

The biggest part is the difference of expectation from the author and the viewers. The series was never designed to be innovative or deep or unique, it has always meant to be a fantasy about a single guy inflicting all sorts of cruel actions on people. There's nothing wrong with writing an immoral character, but what is wrong is failing to make it clear that it is not good and/or bending the world around the character to make it look like their horrifying actions are actually justified. The more I think about it the more I realise that comparing this show to Death Note is just kinda terrible as an analysis because Death Note, unlike this show, _was_ going for a philosophical angle and thinking about its implications where as this show just wasn't, that's kinda the whole reason why Death Note works with a Villainous protagonist and this one doesn't unless you're specifically into that sort of thing. All that being said I kinda agree with the sentiment that the show shouldn't be cancelled but I don't use Twitter enough to even know if that's a concern, but with what he talked about in the video it doesn't seem to be at all so this whole point is kinda just unnecessary but to each their own I guess. As a closing statement all I can say is that if it's on TV then children can access it, and if children can reach it then you should probably be more careful of what you glorify

I'm gonna be honest, looking solely at the healing magic system, it's kinda cool to think that there could be a darker side to healing magic, something like causing cells to rapidly die through reversing the healing process or messing with nerve endings. Even memory erasure should be possible, but it also might just make someone braindead instead. I guess that would all fall under necromancy, though, as decay is usually grouped with that.

Frankly the guy making this video doesn't quite catch all the nuances of Keyaru's healing power. When Keyaru heals someone he is forced to relive all their experiences (which is why he kept trying to runaway in the first place); as such it's more realistic that he can copy someone's technique than say someone with the Sharingan casually glancing at someone using a technique. As for changing his and other people's appearance it is well within his power as a healer since all he's doing is breaking the bones down and forcing them to mend in a different pattern. And he's not the first 'healer' to use his power like this; Doctor from Yu Yu Hakusho also used his healing abilities to change his appearance after escaping the police (he also used his powers to create a disease could only be cured through knocking him unconscious or killing him... killing him was actually easier than knocking him unconscious due to the other ways he could use his abilities).

I've never watched this anime but somehow, it has now popped into my youtube feed after scrolling past Steel Battalion Heavy Armour gameplay. After a brief trawl of the comments here and some further skimming, I am surprised of two large trends forming among them: 1) "An eye for an eye makes the world go blind". 2) "What goes around comes around". Both have their merits, emotional and even socially moral ones. But I find it very funny that many people think the two statements are opposites when in logical scrutiny, both statements are actually not exclusive of each other. It is possible to simultaneously feel the need to "right a wrong" but have a degree of "righting". One implies an end, the other implies a measure of means. So to say the MC of Redo of Healer is justified is correct and to say he is not justified is also correct simply by virtue of assuming a degree of means to the MC's end. He got tortured in one of the worst imaginable ways possible with no hope of justice because his world's justice is already broken by its very enforcers. What can he do that does not resort to "an eye for an eye"? Let them live? So they could go on to harm other Healers? Just kill them off without torture? So they get to just die without facing any further repercussions? Just rule their world? So it's his job to fix a world that broke him? And yet it is also acceptable to judge him a monster too. So he got tortured in one of the worst imaginable ways possible with no hope of justice. How much revenge should he do? Follow all the same acts that was done unto him? Cruelly submit his enemies to an unimaginable pain in return for his own? Not bother to use his powers to actually help better the world so that future Healers don't get broken like him? And we must not forget: He could do both at the same time. He could needlessly torture his enemies while also using his power to stop others from causing harm. Finally, there is an implicit assumption in both views: That his Healing powers are actually useful in his end. How do you use his power to enact long-term change? Is his power only good for short-term benefit? "An eye for an eye makes the world go blind but you'd only want an eye if yours was stabbed first."

He said that there was no reason for Keyaru to stay in the dungeon upon awakening, but he had to stay a bit longer so that the king and Norn would leave. Scamboli also questioned why he went into the dungeon again, but that’s because he needed to absorb as much exp as possible before escaping, and because he gave Flare one more chance to prove that she’s not a bad person in the new tineline. Having sex with people allowed him to get more exp than just healing people.
