Every toxic Wanda stan has the same arguments. They either deny all the actual evidence that proves Wanda was fully aware that she holding people hostage in the hex and mind controlling them all. Or, they accept those facts but then justify what she did but deny that they are justifying what she did. They all say, “I’m not justifying what she did, I just understand why she did it.” And then I reply, “I understand why she did what she did, that still doesn’t change the fact that what she did was immoral.” Then they reply with something stupid like, “everyone would do the same thing in her position.” Sorry, but no. Or they argue, “But she was grieving and it’s not immoral because she eventually let everyone go.” So, according to these toxic stans, it’s not immoral to hold people hostage and force them to do things against their will as long you eventually let them go. If only Marvel treated Thor’s grief with this much care. They made the fans sympathize with Wanda’s grief while justifying all of her selfish evil deeds after this. She then refused Thor twice, once at knifepoint when he begged her to help save their people, and was happy to leave him enslaved until he broke free, where she was even going to attempt to enslave him once again until Loki used his magic to remind her of her past. This enslaver is a better candidate than Thor to be 'king'? Just because he was a drunk, guilt ridden mess for 5 years when she spent countless years doing that as well as refusing twice to help her people and enslaving people?

What shocked me was when she said that “Good, there will be some left to raise them” line to Reed. The thing about anti heroes is that they do bad things with good intentions. Killmonger from Black Panther is an anti hero, Riddler from The Batman is an anti hero, Magneto from the X-Men (from both timelines) is an anti hero Wanda did whatever the hell she wanted just to be with the kids she never had, instead of asking America to help her find a universe where her kids were orphans and in return she would help her track down her parents. Edit: I think this is the definition that matches with Wanda the most. *An anti-villain is a character who has heroic personality traits or goals but is ultimately the bad guy in this story. For example, an anti-villain may have noble goals, but their means to attain that goal are evil.*

I get hung up on the fact that she made up two kids that turn out to actually exist in other universes. ....actually,if that was the extent of how far they're asking us to suspend our disbelief,that would be fine. You could even explain it away with the whole "dreams are actually visions from various versions of you in other realities" BS that they toss out there in this film. But that is NOT the extent of what they're asking us to buy into. These two kids exist as Wanda's actual children in EVERY single reality other than than this one. Really!? EVERY other one!? Even all of the ones in which Thanos successfully snapped half of everyone out of existence--including Wanda,mind you--and then successfully prevented the Avengers from undoing it!? Because there were literally millions of those. And I'm afraid that I will not be able to accept any explanation involving some kind of distinction between alternate realities and possible futures of one specific timeline. This film did not mention any such distinction,so it must be assumed that there isn't one to make. If there HAD been,it would've been carefully spoonfed to the audience in such a way that would have made it impossible for anyone to either misunderstand or gloss over that information.

In Wandavision I was kind of able to sympathize with Wanda because she initially created the hex unconsciously. Keeping the hex after realizing that she enslaved a town was immoral but I understood her dilemma. Now that she gained so much happiness by regaining Vision and getting children I understand why it took her long to give this all up and that it was hard for her. But MoM was pure insanity. Wanda was nuts and was an absolute villain. She was purely insane in that movie. Elizabeth Olsen saved the role with her amazing acting skills but a redemption for this character is hard to imagine.

I feel like WV explored her grief, desire, love, happiness and her becoming more unstable and darker as if the show itself is hinting her upcoming role in M.o.M... She already was thr Villain in the show but they tried to justify that by implying that she mostly didn't know she was holding a whole town hostage but they also showed that she is quite delusional and will do everything she can do to see her loved ones again since she didn't even listen to her own robot husband when he told her that the town's people is in pain. I feel like she knew in some extent that she is holding this town on her own but she didn't know that her own magic is making all those people feel her grief. HER GRIEF IS LITERALLY POISONING THOSE PEOPLE MENTALLY. And at the end credits, they showed us a glimpse of her reading the darkhold which later served a very big role for her to be evil. There are those that are still shocked that she was portrayed as a villain in the new movie, but it was pretty clear that she already turned into one halfway through her show. When being confronted with the fact that she's enslaved people, she refused to let them go and instead, went on to enslave more people. It's not that I hate the character, in fact I fucking love her the same way I love my other villains, like Darth Vader and Thanos! The only problem is, everyone clearly sees Vader and Thanos as villains. But for Wanda, they attempt to justify her actions and claim that at the end of WV, she would go on a path of redemption immediately. Did they miss the part when she was literally studying the Darkhold moments after running from the law?

@Mon The biggest issue is that they don't really address those mistakes or hold Wanda accountable. She was told in the show, "they don't know how much you sacrificed for them" as though Wanda actually sacrificed ANYTHING for the poor people of Westview. And in Multiverse of Madness, Strange tells Wanda," You made it right in the end," when she clearly didn't. Redemption arcs can be very powerful, when written well, but these writers pretend like Wanda already "fixed" things and that her crime is already paid for. And Wanda basically gets away with enslavement without so much as a slap on the wrist or a hint of remorse.

Idk why people are acting like it’s so revolutionary that Wanda is a character experiencing loss (or the idea that it somehow makes her actions justifiable?) when Drax, Starlord, Thor, etc have had multiple loved ones taken away from them too. And when those characters do something irrational due to their grief eg Peter not being able to control his anger towards Thanos for killing Gamora, they actually realise they’ve made a mistake and try to learn how to cope better. Also wanting to beat up the guy that killed your girlfriend is extremely tame compared to slaughtering or torturing loads of innocent people in the hopes that it’ll bring back the loved ones you lost, yet the whole fandom was so angry with Starlord. Also where the fuck is Vision during MoM and why does Wanda no longer care about him? I went from feeling sympathy for her to feeling like she's a lunatic. And the constant obsession of Billy and Tommy didn't help at all. She had them for literally a span of a few days and now she is going to kill everyone to get 2 little boys that aren't real? Wanda's deepest desire is to have peace, her sense of peace is family and love. And ironically wandavision and doctor strange made her one of the most beloved characters in the mcu and she definitely has one of the biggest fanbases now. Wandavision made me care for her, which made the doctor strange movie even better for me.

But it also fills you maddening knowledge and gives you power beyond your wildest dreams. That would have been a brilliant way for them to implement her making her children from the pieces of mephisto's heart or energy. But let's forget about that comic tie in. Let's just focus on what the dark did and should have done to Wanda. WHY DIDN'T SHE JUST REMAKE WESTVIEW? I actually think that the point of Wanda’s character was to show how it looks like when someone lacks empathy - thus I believe the writers intended to show exactly what you’re arguing (at least that’s what I took it as). It shows you how many people who we view as “evil” are actually driven by deep pain that they use to “justify” hurting others. I took it as a warning sign that we should be careful with our intentions because while they may be “good” if unchallenged they can cause deep harm to others and you’re right - no amount of hurt, betrayal, grief or pain justifies hurting others - often subconsciously. It shows that Wanda doesn’t lack empathy because she doesn’t feel - she lacks empathy because she feels that her feelings matter more than anyone else’s so she disregards them.

Interesting take. And a fair one if the writers intended that, but from the comments and responses I’ve seen, a lot of people take it as justified behavior. Which is bizarre to me. @@TheMovieCynic Marvel has always had a warped sense of morality. In fact, it's what drives the plot in many of their movies. In The Avengers (2012), Loki states that most of the Avengers are cold-blooded killers, particularly Clint and Nat, and he was right. In fact, many of the Avengers are killers. What separates Wanda from them, is that she chose to target mainly innocent people in her quest for a better life for herself, while most of the other killers were simply following orders from their superiors. The more I think about this, the Avengers seem less of a superhero team and more like a team of fucking mercenaries. The JL, on the other hand, has a better grip on morality and the responsibilities of being superheroes. Batman and Superman each have strict "no kill" rules. Even vengeance is highly frowned upon in DC, as when you attempt it, you are no better than the villains you fight. For the Avengers, well, they chopped off the head of a defenseless Thanos.

(I do think that’s what makes Marvel more popular; fantastical heroes for sure, but ones that connect with people’s humanity more. A bit more grounded if you will). My video echoes those sentiments about what’s different between her and the other marvel heroes; she’s doing things for her own, selfish reasons and the other heroes, if there is a price to pay, are typically (or always) doing it for the perceived greater good or out of a selflessness.

Combine that with emotional trauma and unlimited power, it's almost certain that they would go down the wrong path. I enjoyed seeing her as a villain, and the fact that they didn't tone down her powers like many MCU characters. Despite that, my main issue with this film would be the nonsensical decisions that the characters make - blame bad writing! It's prominent in many Marvel movies to drive the plot forward, otherwise the movie will be over in the first five minutes! For instance, why didn't SW just impregnate herself with twins like in the comics? With her current skill set, it's absolutely possible, and she can even make them look like the twins in her dreams. The whole "what if they get a disease" is the dumbest fucking line ever, and that is coming from a literal reality warper. It's obvious that the writers needed to dumb SW down just so that the plot could move forward.

I also suffered alot in my childhood and life and unfortunatley retained brain damage from it, which made it hard for me to show empathy or to react rationally sometimes. When i first watched the movie i felt some sort of...understanding and familiarity towards Wanda. At first, i was like "oh, i can totally understand her reactions and the way she acted without thinking twice" but when i realized HOW she was acting and what she was doing, i was completely in shock "Am i like her? Will i also turn into a villain someday by reacting way too wrong and acting apathically towards other people?" and i was absolutely devastated. I didn't wanted to become the villain, yes, i suffered a lot and it hurts and there are a lot of moments where i just wanted to take revenge to those who hurt me this way...but it isn't worth it. No matter what i do, it won't change a single thing about me or my past, it doesn't make me feel better if i go off and take revenge, it will just turn me into the villain that i never wanted to be. So, i understand why she was reacting the way she did and i understand her pain, but it doesn't justify what she did. Yes, she can mourn, she can say that it is unfair and that she deserved better (she did) but sadly, a person like Wanda doesn't know how to react rational, because in her head she literally convinced herself that she was being rational and that everyone else is in the wrong (i know that feeling way to much and it can be scary sometimes, but it's nothing more than the pain talking) So, i liked her as a character - a truly traumatized and frustrated character - a truly mentally scared and broken woman, but it still doesn't make it alright that she killed and enslaved all of these people. So, if you are a person who can relate to Wanda and would still justify her action and think what she did was fine and that it is a 'normal reaction' i want you to know that there is help out there, you don't have to turn into the Monster that Wanda herself became, you can heal from your wounds and become a better person. Your past doesn't define what and who you are. Yes, it hurts and i understand that you feel left out and unfairly treated - you probably did. But acting like this and becoming violent and revengful, only hurts you more. So please, go and search for help, i wish you all so much better and i hope you know that a life living in peace is better than a life searching for revenge on people who aren't at fault for what has happened to you (or people who have already forgot about you) (Also, please excuse my bad english, i am from germany and i still struggle with writing in english haha)

This the best comment I've read so far. To be honest everything you said made sense and I felt every word of it very deeply. There is something about wanda that seems so relatable and realistic. I too ponder the question ''what would I do if I was pushed just enough?'' or ''would I lose it like her if I were in her shoes'' when I watch her. To be honest when she said '' I know about self deception more than anyone'' when confronting with strange, i lterally shed tears when she said that, because I too act as if I am happy and fine, but so broken deep down because of my traumas. I thought everyone around me cared about me, always trying to find excuses when they werent there for me, but only realized their hypocrisy and and selfishness just recently. That's why when she said ''despite your hypocrisies and insults, i nearly begged you to get out of my way. youre exhausting my patience.'' I really felt that, because that's also how I feel about the people around me. Have been too patient for everything they did but now ran out of patience. Maybe that's why I relate to wanda's pain and frustration this deeply and see inside of her mind so clearly. Maybe she reminds me of my own internal struggles between keeping it together or losing it completely. Maybe she reminds me what kind of a person I can become if i lose my ways and drown in my pain. I don’t get how is everyone upset that Wanda is a psychopathic selfish, when in the previous movies she was introduced as a villain at first, and she abandoned her surveillance to attack Ultron and avenge her brother, which causes the fall of the town. Wanda was always an antihero with questionable methods, which caused for example the death of civilians in Lagos. This is all what Wanda is. She is very powerful but with very questionable methods that can end up problematic. Contrarily to nearly every other Avengers, she never wanted to be a hero, she only wanted to live happy. She is very comparable to Magneto, who suffered a lot and tried to put down the humans in revenge for his loss. Her story in MoM is very comparable to the one of Magneto in X-M’en Apocalypse, where after he loses the little bit of happiness he constructed, Magneto rejoins Apocalypse to provoke the end of the world.

I'm impressed by how phase 4 writers are so good at destroying characters. I agree with all of the things you said about Wanda except for one part. I interpreted the Wandavision post-credit scene as she learning about her powers since conviniently there's a chapter for the Scarlet Witch and it's the only magical book that she has in hand, then she seems surprised to hear her children calling for help. BUT THEN AGAIN IT MEANT NOTHING. I was invested in Wanda, but her series simply had a horrible ending and the character development that she had in her own series was ignored by MoM's writer that didn't even bother to watch Wandavision.

The funny thing is that they could have easily made Wanda look so much more relatable as a tragic hero by willingly giving herself up to the authorities and agreeing to be taken for rehabilitation once she realized what she'd done. It was obviously a pragmatic choice to have her run away so that events could line up for the beginning of Multiverse of Madness but it undermines the sympathy that the writers were clearly trying to foster for her. In First Blood, when Rambo finally has his breakdown in the police station and walks out willingly with Campbell at the end to be arrested, it was a good choice because you felt like Rambo was truly sorry for the things he'd done, even if he wasn't really accountable for them in any real moral sense. The fact that he was able to empathize with the people he'd hurt let you know that this man wasn't a monster and he was worthy of a second chance. ...That kind of nuance is totally missing from WandaVision. It's like the writers really were only considering Wanda's marketability to audiences going forward rather than any actual characterization.

Up until Strange 2 one could argue that all Trauma & loss she experienced over the years (growing up with war, witnessing your parents die followed by fearing for your own life; as an young adult losing your only family left, being branded a criminal & danger, losing the love of her life before disappearing for several years yourself, then returning & losing your mentors and friends, aka the last bit of stability you had left) simply became too much for Wanda & her psyche, so when she had a mental/ emotional breakdown, her powers got the better of her and created an illusionary Safe Place where she was at home. So she would not suffer anymore as Wanda could not take it anymore. She lived in that illusion until she was confronted with reality and I think it was then that Wanda chose to be selfish & to stay inside her illusion, even if it caused others pain. She eventually let everyone go and did feel guilty for what she put the townspeople through, but I think she mostly wanted to return to that make believe home, even if it's an illusion. Everything is better than havingto deal with the pain, from her pov. And I think in Strange 2 it shows how far Wanda is willed to go, in order to live in that make believe world. She's ready to do whatever it takes, focused on that task only. No matter what she has to do or whom she has to sacrifice. I think from here on out, Wandas journey will only further spiral down, similar to the comics. Does her trauma justify her actions? No, absolutely not. Am I surprised she finally snapped & basically lost it? Nope, I think it was about time. Do I think she'll have a Redemption Arc? Possibly, though I think it will end with her dying for good. She could either become a villain who almost brings down the entire universe with her before being stopped OR she could see her wrongdoings in a minute of "clarity" and sacrifice herself. Either way, I am curious where this will go. And yeah, Thor deserves better but I think Marvel's "He's a man, he has to push through. Trauma is for the weak, so we play his loss and trauma for laughs" - mentality shows & I hate it. Many characters deserved better but I guess with their actors not signing new contracts, we can forget about that.

It's not at all uncommon to be held prisoner for someone else's grief - Wanda's story arc represents a real phenomenon. We're not meant to feel true sympathy for Wanda, other than to understand her motivation, however self-serving it is. Strange doesn't really believe she was justified, he was placating her narcissism, which is often necessary to get what you need from a narcissist.

I think there's a strong difference between having to massage someone's emotions during grieving and being enslaved by an unhinged super villain to the point where you wish you were dead. I'd say that's fairly uncommon. Maybe Strange, who should be smarter, was placating her, but the MCU somehow thinks she's deserving of respect. Witness Rambeau telling her that no one will ever know what she did for them. The kids are fake. Screw those fake kids.

I will say, I am a “Wanda stan.” I’ve enjoyed this character since her debut in Winter Soldier and in Age of Ultron. I loved her powerset (it was very reminiscent of Jean Grey who I am a huge fan of) and her look. To me she was just cool and I’ve enjoyed watching her journey in the MCU. I loved WandaVision and I loved finally being able to explore her grief and what she went through and how it affected her. I could understand why she did what she did and why she was compromising her morals just so she can be happy. She had been through a lot. I’m not saying that what she did was right in any means. Enslaving an entire town just so you can be happy is definitely not something you should try to justify and I hate how that’s what they tried doing at the end of WandaVision and why I think so many stans try to claim that Wanda did nothing wrong. I understand that Wanda never truly intended to hurt anyone and that when she found out at the end of the show that she was causing all these people so much pain and suffering that she decided that the hex needs to come down. It’s been shown throughout the movies and in the show that Wanda never wants to hurt people. In Age of Ultron she felt tremendous guilt for her part until he creation of Ultron. In Civil War she also felt tremendous guilt for the people that were killed in Lagos because of her trying to get rid of the bomb. She even had a discussion with Vision in that movie where she talks about how she believes herself to be a good person but because of her powers and the mistakes she has made people fear her. In WandaVision, despite the fact that she was knowingly mind controlling a town, she believed or at least convinced herself that she was actually improving the lives of everyone in Westview. Like she felt as if what she was doing was wrong and probably knew it, but she believed that she was creating this perfect world for everyone and that they were all happy and at peace. So, when she found out that that wasn’t the case, she immediately resulted to bringing the Hex down. I loved how that added more nuance to her character and made her a morally grey character. That is interesting to me and one of the reasons why I love her so much, but I hate how they handled her at the end of the show. I hate how they tried to justify and make her enslaving a town okay because she was grieving. I hate how they made Hayward the villain of the show when he was just trying to save the people of Westview and I hate how they have Monica that like about “Wanda’s sacrifice.” I wish they handled that a lot better because you have people now claiming “Wanda did nothing wrong” and all that. If they whole thing is to redeem Wanda because she is a tragic hero has had fallen and hurt a lot of people, have her hold herself accountable, have other people hold her accountable, and have her work to atone for what she caused in Westview and work for her redemption. I think what they should’ve done in Doctor Strange 2 is have Wanda trying to work on redeeming herself and make up for the pain she caused those people and if you wanted her to be corrupted by the Darkhold and become a villain (which makes sense for her character with what she has been through) have that happen throughout out the course of the movie and have another movie where she is the main villain. Another thing I hated with how Wanda’s character had been handled is her sudden heel turn in DS2. Like yeah it was cool at moments, and Elizabeth Olsen did an amazing just acting, but it was very jarring and hard to take in because we left her in a somewhat state of peace at the end of WandaVision. I just hope Wanda gets a proper redemption if that is the route they decide to take her character. I personally think that she needs one. I hate how much hate the character gets because of the bad writing and the Wanda stans that glorify her actions. It makes the character look bad and it sucks because I think she is such and interesting character and has so much potential.

If I'm being completely honest, I agree with pretty much everything you said about her being a selfish narcissist; and call me crazy, but that's why I find her character interesting. I guess I'm looking at her character and overall journey from a different perspective; I kinda see Wanda as this person who, in a sense, is NOT meant to be your standard hero archetype. I kinda understand why she acts so selfishly due to the fact that she desperately wants to replicate that same feeling of having a family considering the one she had as a child had been taken from her. Plus, every time she attempts to, whether it be just her brother, the Avengers, or her family in Westview, it always never works out for her. She joins Hydra to help kill the Avengers -- it fails and her brother is killed, she joins the avengers a year later to right her wrongs -- to the team is disbanded and she is sent to prison, she tries to leave a live in secret with Vision (despite the fact it's implied she wasn't meant to because she's a vigilante) -- they're ambushed and Vision is killed at the end of IW. And of course, the entirety of WV and MOM is her attempting to find that same happiness again, but she's a villain in both cases. Her decent into a villianous vile person was a result of her not being able to let go of the past and move on. Compare that to other characters who dealt with similar issues: Cap, Tony, Natasha, and to SOME extent, Thor; they were able to move on and become better heroes because of it. Wanda, however, simply couldn't. Also, I want to stress that nothing she does justify anything she did and I feel like she herself knows that. Which is why I think she just offed herself at the end of MOM. This is the pattern I've noticed with her. To put it gently, I've kinda seen this downfall coming for a while, but personally, that's why I enjoyed WandaVision (not the ending) and to an extent, her character. I guess what I'm saying is that while I agree that Marvel seems to be pushing way too heavily into the "She is tragic and you should feel sad" angle (and yes Wanda Stans are toxic as fuck!), I don't think that the people who DO feel bad for her and see her as tragic should be discarded; there are reasons people do feel bad for her, the problem lies if they don't acknowledge her actions. I feel like if Marvel pertained a balance between her being "tragic character" and a "villain", then I think her character could've been amazing and we can all be on the same page. As it stands, I understand if you or anyone else hates her character now because yeah MOM was pretty terrible and script was bad. As for me, I acknowledge the good and the bad traits of wanda and I still find her at the very least enjoyable. Even if we don't agree, I respect your perspective on this video and I appreciate your efforts working on this video! :)

She fixed her wrong doings in westview and left, not really sure what else she was suppose to do or what you’re talking about there, and the darkholds corruption played a major factor in the bad things wanda did in dsMoM, after she broke free of it’s corruption, and destroyed the darkhold in every universe and then herself, to attempt to make up for her wrongdoings, I don’t think that’s getting off Scott free. Thor has gone through much worse than Wanda has and handled his pain a lot better. Also, let me ask you this: if a criminal burst into a house, tied every resident up in the living room, and made them watch as he tortured and killed the family dog, then let them go and left, would you say that criminal is a good person? Do they not belong in jail now? The whole town of Westview is going to need therapy, including the *children* because of what she did. And she never acknowledged that what she did was really wrong. And as far as the Avengers not caring about her, go kick sand. Hawkeye lost his best friend. Pepper Potts lost her husband and her daughter lost her father. Bucky lost his best friend. They all lost loved ones but Wanda is the only one that gets to torture people without consequences? With regards to Strange, Illuminati Stephen was killed for his crimes. And you can't use that as an excuse anyway: either the Darkhold corrupts its user into pure evil, in which case Wanda wouldn't have been able to stop herself in MoM and I-Strange was rightfully executed, or it drives them to evil but they still have control over themselves, but that would mean that Wanda's a psychopath and the Illuminati didn't try hard to help their friend. @@silverscorpio24 Wanda went through more than just losing her boyfriend, she lost her brother, parents, and by the end of endgame, she was left with nobody, all while being scrutinized by the general public, seen as a monster, weapon, ect, never truly treated as a human being and even after trying to come to peace with visions death, and wanting to bury him, she was told no, that she was to powerful to have possession over HER boyfriend, even while being his rightful heir, and shown that he isn’t treated as a human either, he’s just a weapon in the eyes of the world, just like her. Sure, I can agree that Thor handled his pain in a healthier way than Wanda, but their circumstances aren’t comparable, whilst grieving Wanda unconsciously created a pocket dimension stimming from her grief, giving her everything she had ever wanted, a normal life, and loved ones, her immense power basically set her up for destruction, which is why her powers are the main differentiation between any other character, she can have everything she wants, but she learns that it will cost the lives others, obviously she’s gonna struggle with letting that go, anyone in her circumstances would, especially after what she’d been through, and what was left for her in reality. And I’m not saying what she did to the people of westview was right, it definitely wasn’t, but she never meant to mind control them in the first place, as far as she knows, they were still freely living their lives just without the knowledge of visions death, and the change of time periods, that is why Agatha was even able to slip into her hex in the first place, because she had no knowledge of the people she was controlling, and up until halfway into the series, had no knowledge she was controlling them in the first place, and once she learned every aspect of their lives were controlled subconsciously by her, she immediately let them go, the “torture” they went through was only present because they lived a couple days feeling what she felt on a daily basis, evident by the line “we feel your pain”, I think that says a lot about Wanda’s state of mind. The west view situation is far more complex than just kidnapping and holding people hostage, her powers add a whole new layer to that, which is kinda what wandavision is all about anyway, how would a human with great power but unstable and suffering mental state handle such immense abilities? And we see an accurate depiction of what a grieving woman with god like powers would be. Wanda isn’t being held accountable the same way a criminal who kidnapped and held a town hostage would because that is an oversimplification of what happened and if you watched WandaVision you’d know that. And I was confused by your darkhold comment, wanda herself isn’t really a psychopath due to the fact that she was corrupted, and I pointed out the variants of strange who became corrupted because they show a good example of what it does to a blank slate of a person, (supreme strange living a good life yet still becoming corrupted) but the reason she wasn’t immediately hunted down and killed was because she was too powerful to be killed, maybe if the avengers all teamed up and tried to kill her, they’d have a shot, but they didn’t, strange couldn’t do anything but try and reason with her, and even then, he attempted to use the book of vashanti, but she put a stop to that. I’m sure if he could have killed her, he would have, I mean, even wong was willing to sacrifice Chavez. Also how did she not acknowledge her wrongdoings? what more could she do other than letting them go and leaving them alone? The hex was only up for six days, it’s not like she deliberately hurt them, the reason they were mind controlled in the first place was because she subconsciously created a happy life for what she thought was for herself and the people around her, she never meant harm, sure she kept the hex up for like a day while knowing she was in control of it, but she didn’t know she was controlling every aspect of their lives, and that is why when Agatha let her know what she was really doing, she let them go without hesitation, the people of westview didn’t even want anything from her after being freed, they saw from Wanda’s perspective throughout living in the hex, they knew what she felt, but they were rightfully angry and scared of her, the show made it clear that they simply didn’t want anything to do with her after being freed, which is why after she fixed her mistakes, she just left, left to learn how to control her seemingly uncontrollable powers, and to find her peace of mind, because her pain and grief was quite literally what caused the bad things she done in the first place, although we see that even that takes a turn for the worse and the darkhold gets its hold on her.

Oh and here’s another point: Bucky faced consequences for his actions even though he was mind controlled. It goes to show that there are still consequences to events of death and murder, even when your not in control at all. People will want to kill you for killing and hurting their loved ones, it doesn’t matter if your In control or not, it’s cause and effect. Wanda faces no consequences and is in control of her actions. No victims have come after her yet like how Ironman and Black Panther tried to kill Bucky. Wanda has not been punished for the terrible things she’s done, and no one has came after her. Not that they can anyways now, unless your talking about the innocent Wanda.

There is her corruption that amplified her wants from the book that she went after, but the real person B in MoM is the innocence Wanda, so that’s gonna suck for her like how it does for bucky, since she might have some new character trying to hunt her down for shit was mind controlled into. Also there is another problem now that I think of it…I don’t think anyone could hunt down main universe Wanda. Everyone left we know with powers in the marvel universe wouldn’t be able to defeat her, and even if a superhero/villain of a relative of one of Wanda’s victims suddenly tried to do so, they’d be dead, and it’s not like Wanda would ever willingly decide to go to some super max containment prison, or as if it would hold her down, unless she willingly decided to stay.

Soo many Wanda fans because she is simply relatable. She wants just a normal life family life, she just wants people who love her. She has no one and her situation from the start was filled with suffering with her home and parents bombed and traumatised as a child then during her development she was influenced by Hydra. Lost her brother and then vision. Then made a family by accident where she's been the happinest she's been. Even though was not real, it felt real to her and letting that go and going back to her dull lonely life as before is hard and it was a sacrifice for her. Her struggles of just wanting a boring normal family life and being rejected by it is what drives her actions and it is selfish however as a gay man, I do empathise with it. Wanting a normal a life there are alot of struggles to just want things that a ordinary person would take for granted without being discriminated. I do agree in MOM her writing was awful, especially when Wong suggested to just take her to her children then kill her to protect her children from a illness, where she can change reality and easily solve that. I do think Wanda is character as of from the Boys , she's not perfect but a mentaly broken character who needs alot of therapy and a friends who understands her

I seriously can’t understand why so many are trying to make her a “hero” or “empathetic”. Let’s look at Magneto, he survived the holocaust and due to that trauma caused him to hate people and sees mutants as the next step in evolution. He also wants to prevent another holocaust for mutants, but his methods are always viewed as villainous not heroic. Storm was buried alive with her dead parents after a plane crashed in their hotel, Batman’s parents were murdered in front of him when he was a kid, Spider man failed to save his uncle and Gwen Stacey. I can go on about the many heroes who have been through much worse things than she has. But that’s social media now, being a violent sociopath are ok so long as it’s the right person.

What could be a better ending for WandaVision? After defeating Agatha, she set her eyes on the Darkhold and looted it because so much curiousity to that artifact. Then after her closure to her "family", she surrender to S.W.O.R.D. because she recognized her wrong doing and Monika ask to the higher ups "don't make her suffer, just confine her" kinda line. Then, during the post credit scene, we get a similar take from the original of her cabin in the woods scene while reading the Darkhold in astral form but in a prison setting. Although it is not a complete thought, but I hope you guys get my point.

i think a big issue when it comes to wanda's story in wandavision is a pretty big lack of film literacy or narrative comprehension on the part of the audience. often times an audience member assumes that a protagonist couldn't possibly be the villain by virtue of their watching their journey. And even when they do understand, people find villain relatable, like, all the time. i personally enjoyed seeing the story of what could have been a fantastic and well rounded villain for the films (sadly squandered in MoM). i disagree with the take that wanda jumped the shark in her own show. her downward spiral within the show is all pretty narratively sound. even despite the intrusive fan service and big dumb marvel ending in its final episode (director hayward should have been lauded not arrested. for all the town knew he saved them from a crazy witch. ) The stinger at the last moments of the show was chilling and felt properly dangerous. and they wasted it all in MoM by misunderstanding her journey in her own show completely.

Hayward was arrested for trying to weaponize and control Vision, I think. Though it's a bit unclear what evidence they have for that, given that Vision just flew away and we haven't heard about him since. So he couldn't have testified against the guy and explained that S.W.O.R.D had tried to suppress his memories for whatever reason and send him to kill his former lover against his will.

She was never portrayed as one of the hero in MCU so far, she just happen to be at the right place in the right time to do something right, accidentally. Wanda was an emotional character from the beginning and pretty much annoyed by the fact that she had to be drag into the whole "saving the world situation". Imagine being drag into something you have no real interest in and then losing the love your your life. Yeah, I would probably not give much care about normal civilian, especially when trying to save them are the reason why you have to kill your love one and then see him resurrected and die again in front of you. To criticize her not acting like a hero is kinda weird, that's kinda her character from the start. She is not a hero, she doesn't think like one, act like one from the very beginning. Yeah, it's immoral to do what Wanda does. That's kinda the whole point of the character, she doesn't act according to her moral ground but her emotion and urge. That's why she had the potential to do what she did in the series and ultimately becoming a villain, it makes sense. (It doesn't make sense Monica doesn't judge her though....that's the weird part, not Wanda; Oh and don't get me wrong, the movie sucks and Wanda villain wasn't really convincing in the movie, but the series make sense to me in my opinion) I am not really disturb by the moral question in this series though, you know she is at the wrong there, the grieving part only explain her intention and action not defending it. No one is really saying "you did nothing wrong here", but only that they can "understand it". Understanding something doesn't mean you have to accept it, I guess that's two very different things. (Again, not talking about the movie, the movie sucks)

What's the problem here? I like Wanda and acknowledge and do not defend all her ruthless and evil actions. It's like liking Homelander from The Boys. Yes, Elizabeth Olson's as hot as the Sun, but even without the simping, are we not allowed to be a fan of evil characters? Is she a narcissistic psychopath? Yes. Do I care? No. Also, while I see how Marvel hilariously tries to justify Wanda's actions in Wanda Vision, I don't see her being justified at all in Multiverse of Madness.
