The game's story was interesting, but i found it rather weird when Davis started talking about ducks, also his references to a "scary game squad". Can anyone explain that? Regardless, keep up the good content Davis, i'd love to see you play more games, maybe next time even bring a friend to share the scares.

This game is ... not very good. Like a diluted version of Layers of Fear. The story was not very engaging, unnecessarily complicated, the grammar and spelling had issues (maybe it was intentional, I dont know, it was just not my cup of tea, did not create the atmosphere they intended to), they have introduced 5 +1 major locations in the game and we have not spent enough time in either of them to really discover it, or feel the importance of it. The morgue had moments, but the rest... I wouldnt say its a bad game, per se, it is just lacking in many departments. If it wasnt for SGS, I would have stopped watching it about halfway through.

Too much waste of time doing pointless puzzles. All the scares seem pretty much unattached to the story. There aren't really any failure states. There doesn't seem to be any player choice. The story is pretty much void of any real characters and where the "characters" try to exist, their communication is hard to understand so there is no impactful character growth. The story just doesn't progress. The premise is pretty much that you have a split personality and everything is either a dream or just plain madness so why should you even try to make sense out of it when everything the game does is already justifiably illogical, unattached and untrustworthy in multiple levels.

Very well said. Especially the part about the scares that has nothing to do with the actual story. Are you haunted by your sins, or what are these flashes? It really doesnt work. The player choice .... well ... yeah (altough in LoF you did not have either but I personally did not mind about that, but it's really a preference). The communication is just hard to follow, very different subtitles to what is actually said, and basically even Amnesia - Dark Descent had more interesting dialogues in it, they were more successful to create a dreading atmosphere. And what is with the crows and Birdman? Ah ... why bother.

Maybe instead of player choice the more important thing is player involvement. In layers of fear you felt involved in the world. Your goal was clear and it felt significant. Even though there were nightmares they were definitely tied to the story and driving it forward. The story showed that there was a method to the madness. All the sections of the game felt like real frightening challenges where as here they are just a linear line of trivial puzzles with some exploration and completely random jump scares. It is a bit of time for me but I think layers of fear actually even had some failure states and even real significant choices in it. In amnesia they had a pretty interesting world and lore that they represented very well. Thats what kept me interested. And I guess even if you miss some of these it doesn't really matter if there is some other things you do well enough.

9:55 lol this makes no sense. The drawing shows the turning direction to be RIGHT, left, right. Jesse turned it LEFT, right, left. Which means, the dev made the drawing according to the direction you push on the controller. Very immersive, as if the protagonist used a joystick to control his fingers. LOL

Not sure on the original language of this game but I'm familiar with "interlocutor" but only in French, never have I heard the word used in English. That being said, it simply means a person who takes part in a conversation or dialogue. Ex: The rubber ducky is talking with Davis. Davis and the rubber ducky are interlocutors. Pronounced [inter-lock-u-ter]
