Fun fact: the "whoahhhhh" you hear intermittently in the background throughout Break the Bank, for example at 20:53 and 20:15, is actually a sample from Mario Kart 64 of Toad yelling when he falls of a cliff. The Alchemist is such a sick producer.

This was when Q was at his darkest time He mentioned in an interview that he hardly even remembers recording half these songs because he was so fucked up on the drugs. You can hear if you listen to his discog that hes happier in crasH talk as he released Blank Face not for his own joy when it flopped sales wise you can hear the change up. Great artist none the less and Blank Face is a Q classic imo. Great great project if youre looking for more. Sorry about the ramble

I'd love to see your reaction to Ab-Souls albums cos his new album is supposed to come out this year. Imo he's the best lyricist in TDE (Kendrick is better in making concept albums, but as far as pure lyricism I feel like Soulo is undefeated) I think it's good to get into his albums either in the chronological order or start with Control System, then Do What Thou Wilt, then These Days and Longterm Mentality for last. I'm telling you that you won't regret it. Still to this day I catch some bars and metaphors that went over my head before.

Nebiel I Wolf is a great album. Goblin definitely didn’t age well. And we wouldn’t have a Flower Boy and IGOR if it wasn’t for Cherry Bomb. I feel like that album gets a lot of hate because of a few songs.

I dont know, Kendrick was already kind of big off of singles such as ADHD and Swimming Pools, and that was 2011 and 2012. This was 2013/2014, but he "mega" blew up after To Pimp a Butterfly (rightfully so)

Your reactions are amazing John. You’ve grown so much into your own personality recently I think and you offer such genuine reactions. You have such a good balance of breaking down bars but then also giving your interpretation of it and spinning your own thoughts but then at the same time just getting on with it and listening.
