Was I the only one disappointed when Bruce didn't start speaking in a heavily accented American English voice? Bruce Gallagan is such a late 20th century American sounding sci-fi, Indiana Jones type name. So much backstory for having everyone understand each other, yet speak in their own languages. Oh well!
@Decemberworks Жыл бұрын
Funny enough, it was shot in English and then dubbed into Spanish, because that's how those kind of shows were broadcasted in Spain.
@hilaryc3203 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you were the only one who was disappointed. The actor is Spanish; he's from Barcelona. Most of the actors are latin, so did their own dubbing I believe.
@Benson_aka_devils_advocate_88 Жыл бұрын
@@hilaryc3203 Wow, you mean to tell me that people who speak Spanish, are usually "Latin?" Damn, silly me... And here I was think these guys actually speak Mandarin but chose to use Spanish instead... I still think it was a huge missed opportunity to not have the guy with the mid 20th century, cheesy SciFi sounding name you'd find in American stories from the same time speak in a thick American accent. It would be like having the characters in a story about the middle ages and having the Scottish guy speak in the language the audience understands, or having that character speak in the language, and with the corresponding accent, that adds an layer of depth you'd otherwise miss in a short. Remember, as a writer you have to pack as much as you can into the allotted time. Ina piece that's under 15 minutes you can only add depth in so many ways. To give the guy all the more feel of a cocky, SciFi character to fit the visual ambiance, just changing his voice to separate him from everyone else would have easily done that without the need for additional dialog to set the characters disposition. Cocky American voice, cocky character persona, game, set, match.
@danicaralt8028 Жыл бұрын
@@Benson_aka_devils_advocate_88 the option of making the main character talk english with heavy accent is a valid idea, but it doesn't mean dubbing doesn't add depth. American films are all over the world, and dubbing is a practice done in many countries. In those places, kids don't watch tv shows in the original language, they get the dubbed version. Think about this film as a way to see how people abroad watch american shows.
