Replacing a single capacitor usually repairs a $2K television and yet it's thrown out. The do-nothing, don't-rock-the-boat cowardice I dealt with in America was one of the things that drove me out. My Fridge stopped working last week. Did some searching, $1200 for a slight cosmetic flaw replacement. Took my next day off to dig into it since it didn't kick back on after a day being unplugged. Pulled off a couple panels and found a block of ice around the cooling elements... way more ice than 24 hrs would thaw. Put a space heater to it and 8 hrs later, everything was cleared up. I put it back together and 18hrs later, the fridge was good as new. 1 hr of digging, couple minutes here and there to check thawing process and I saved myself $1200.
