For anyone else confused as to what the fuck was going on, I ripped a quote from the original comments. Basically when she opened the door and entered his mind space, everything that she could do to him in the cognitive containment system also became available for him to do to her, since she entered his playing field. Its a bit like Aikido in that the one attacking is at a disadvantage because they are off balance. She was expecting him to be on the defensive, not expecting for him to have set up his own mind space within hers, so when she attacked she was not expecting his response. One she lost control, he was able to see her thoughts at will and take complete control. Thanks for commenting and I hope you enjoyed the story! :)

Aaah, Memetic hazards... Great fun to hear about happening to an enemy and yet horrifically nasty concept that in reality would be utterly terrifying. The mind is a soft squishy bit of tissue that, if understood well enough... can leave an open door for crushing the psyche and leaving it broken and useless. We do it to ourselves all the time now a days with unnatural ease even when we aren't actively pursuing such. Psychological trauma is... a modern day tragedy that is growing worse every day. Yet it still pales in comparison to an actual memetic hazard, a weaponized agent against the mind... Just oof. Yeah, I can see an entire empire collapsing under such a thing, like a virus being forwarded across a weakly protected computer network... only that network is made up of the people who run it. Absolute social collapse in moments across countless worlds, bases, stations, and so on... Oof. -_I'll Be Listening, Friend._

How well do you think someone with an orderly version of multiple personality disorder, one that's just waiting for one final strike in the destructive nail into the foundation that keeps the mind from absolute chaos, how well would they fair in an interrogation like this? Sure us humans can handle each other damn well in a situation of an interrogation, but a race that thinks we are mentally as weak as our natural defenses, you gotta imagine the horror and surprise to an interrogator when they unwittingly strike that nail thinking that the subject would spill the information they want. Yeah, information will spill out, but not in a trickle, not in a gentle stream you might be accustomed to. Rather, in a torrent and flash flood of insurmountable portions and intensity. Memories and thoughts throughout life, not just from one person but a different yet similar person, and not two but then or maybe twenty if they were that broken and managed to piece themselves together enough to be socially acceptable.

ooh, history buffs would have a field day at being in a psyops unit like that. All they'd have to do is recall a series of famous battles and make humanity seem like an unbeatable scourge that possesses the ability to raise the dead and resurrect ancient methods of warfare that the filthy xenos have no means to counter... the Battle of Fort Osowiec would actually be a perfect image for the existential terror of undead armies. Chemical, conventional, and psionic weapons systems bringing down Terrans left and right for miles, only to rise again from the fog and ash of the battle from only seconds ago, with dozens-fold energy regardless of trailing viscera and missing limbs. That imagery would force a similar victory against any empire bar necroids, which we may as well be necroids in spirit. There was a HFY story I found early on in my recent SpOrcs binge about a freelance author being interviewed on why Earth should be spared by some confederacy that's been known to abduct humans (which numbered in the thousands), and the interrogation device used was some orb hovering in the center of the chamber that glowed yellow for a failed interview, and would drift towards blue the more violent the response/thoughts got from the interviewee. For those that haven't seen/heard that story yet, please hazard a guess as to how far along that color spectrum the orb was when the freelance author was done. history buffs and bookwriters would make for some nightmarishly effective psyops agents, ones that would probably make Lovecraft's skeleton blush, and he made a *killing* off of an entire genre of his own design (or so I presume. could be wrong, but unlikely, since Lovecraft was alive during ww1)

Well since the science is already established about manipulation of human psyche already to certain extent even now, it's probably not that hard to train people in that kind of psychological warfare with the technology mentioned in the story . Not to mention that humans are already capable of editing and manipulating memories subconsciously (trauma, hallucinations, dreams, nightmares, imaginary friends etc).

What if we infected their mind with Rick Roll and now everytime they meet another member of their species they'll start doing the dance and sing the whole song and spread it,those that infected with this will hear Never Gonna Give You Up in their head 24/7

Hum, the U in Miguel is silent. Every other letter is pronounced like you did though. Since it is either a Portuguese or Spanish name it follows the rules that when you have the letter GU followed by E or I, the U is silent (e.g queso - cheese). If the letters GU are followed by A or O, then you read the U (e.g guapo - handsome). Same goes for QU.
